    I honestly feel happier with my spec'd out Surface Go 2 (Core M3 8GB RAM and keyboard) than I would with something like this. Because the SG2 has Windows Hello, 1080p webcam, Surface Pen compatibility, a rear cam (yes, I do use one) - whereas the Laptop Go doesn't have any of those specs. Especially if you only plan to use it as a productivity device, it's better. I think the most important thing about the Laptop Go is that it apparently has a better battery life than the Surface Go 2. But otherwise, it's not as attractive a product.

If Lenovo, Dell, HP, and Acer can make devices like this, why not Microsoft? This laptop already has a touchscreen, it's just in the most awkward position possible.

To them having the ability to flip it and turn it into a tablet per say is not something they want to cannibalize sales. They make way more money on their tablets. And yes I have had customers that said well my laptop can flip so why get a tablet. As long as they have tablets they will never have a surface or MacBook that works like a Lenovo Yoga to use your example. I can promise you a regular way of selling them that they tell us to use is, if you want a touch screen tablet that is tablet first laptop second, get a surface pro. If you want a standard laptop experience and the power but still have a touch screen get the surface laptop, if you want the versatility of a tablet but the power of the laptop then get the surface book which is why they are priced way higher.That I’ve been told that’s the reason a surface laptop will never get the 360 hinge.

      @Iqbal Muhammad If you look close enough, you can see it on the laptop go, but it's still a very good resolution for the size screen that it is. It's premium in some of the wrong places.

  • @2DarkHorizon
    @2DarkHorizon 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    People don't understand the resolution on this laptop is fine. Imagine they started with an aspect ratio 16:9 screen with a 1920x1080 resolution and they cut out the sides of the screen toget an aspect ratio 3:2. What you end up with is a resolution of 1534 x1024.

      @@fightnight14 it's going great. I keep it on max battery saver and it runs anything. I also turn the screen down to 60 when working indoors. I get about 8 hours battery doing that. I got it in Oct 2021 and i have seen some battery life decrease but maybe an hour. I charge it up at home and then take it work so the charger stays home. Yeah the track pad and keyboard are still fantastic. Glad you can get a better price. Not having a back lit keyboard is not a deal breaker for me for the price.

  • @strings1586

    Here's why I'm impressed; Minecraft update 1.18 adds massive rendering and terrain generation requirements, which strains a laptop more. The Surface Go not only runs the new update at 60 FPS, but will tolerate medium graphics settings, and a mid-low render distance. You can even have Spotify open in the background. For $500.

    I do agree the mid performer is the device for the most bang for your buck. That is the device I went with. I needed a secondary device for work and one that wasn't going to cost 1k. I definitely am a fan of the build quality and I would have gone with a higher res screen over a lower res touch screen. On a laptop, I just don't use the touch screen, I much prefer the touchpad and keyboard functionality more when it comes to a laptop.

    Take the $900 model of the Surface Laptop Go;
    For an extra $270 (MSRP) you get a 13.5" Surface Laptop 3 which has:
    1. Larger Higher PPI screen (140 vs 201ppi) (biggie - Cannot believe the GO is sub FHD)
    2. A better IRIS PLUS graphics card (Super bigggie)
    3. Keyboard backlighting (Super biggie)
    4. Windows Hello Face camera (a biggie)
    5. Surface Pen support (not a biggie)
    6. Aluminum all round (not a biggie)
    7. A glass trackpad (vs plastic)
    I cannot believe that the GO is crippled in so many ways just for a $270 difference in price. You must want portability real bad to buy the GO. I was okay with most of the omissions above until I found out that it had no backlit keyboard....that was a real shocker from Microsoft. Just FYI I own a Surface Book 2 15" i7, 16GB, 512GB so I am a surface supporter. But this backlit keys thing.......super deal breaker.

    So, I bought a MacBook Air, and then I returned it because for some reason I thought it was touch screen, ik I am so dumb. But, it's not, I need a touch screen device for school to write on some assignments using Kami and so I was initially going to buy a Surface Laptop 3 black, but then this surface laptop go was released. So I currently have a laptop go ( - Sandstone, Intel Core i5, 8GB, 256GB
    ), and I bought it during the pre-sale. When it first arrived at my house it wasn't charged so, I thought that was a bit strange because usually most of the devices I've ever bought come charged..Okay, oh well I said no biggie but now I am constantly facing screen issues and my fingerprint sensor thing doesn't light up to work at times. I don't know why it acts like this but, it's so annoying like even as I am writing this, my laptop keeps getting a black screen or it's just glitchy. Also, the fan is loud and I don't have a lot of applications running in the background so, IDK why it's like this. Other issues include battery life, it's not great for an online high school student, I have an 8 hour school day plus hours after school for homework that's---ONLINE, and this laptop makes WEIRD noises, gosh I can list on but if these issues could be fixed I would love this laptop. So, my question is, where can I go for help or what can I do to fix these issues. I've never dropped it or whatsoever, so IDK why this is happening. Even though my MacBook air was not touchscreen, I miss it more than this because it didn't have these issues ;(((((((((((.
