A year later which one would you recommend? A brand new Laptop Go 1 in 256gb is just $550 right now while a 256gb surface laptop 3 is $700. Still a $150 difference but that Laptop Go 1 sounds so tempting at the price range but I love me a backlit keys and matte black finish.
I bought a 128gb Laptop Go 1 for like $380 two months ago (with the travel dock and Microsoft mouse), and a 512gb SSD from ebay. I followed this channel's video to replace the hard drive, and it works great. So If you don't mind replacing the hard drive, you can probably get a 128gb Go 1 cheaper.
I bought my 256gb Laptop 3 for 650 euros brand new. The Go version ended up getting more expensive and not worth it. But at some point the price should drop when version 2 comes out.
I saw that 650€ discount it was sold in a blink of an eye i didn't grab it since i had the laptop go for 450€ but a better screen better storage and more RAM for 200€ more is a good deal
Great review ! I just got myself a surface laptop go recently. When my laptop is plugged in, the fan made awful loads of noise. Do you experience the same on the surface laptop 3?
The fan needs to run to keep the system temperature cool. I could see the CPU temperature rose up to 70 degrees Celsius while it was charging but sleeping.
I Would Like To See Them Make A 15-inch Version Of The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2 No I Have The Microsoft Surface Laptop Go I Don’t Have The 15-inch Surface Laptop
I have the 16gb, I can tell the screen is dimmer and less sharp compared to the Surface Go 2 and is missing Face Recognition, backlit keyboard, SD card Reader. And the screen viewing angles are also a lot worse compared to the Surface Go 2. Buying new is to expensive, not worthy, better buy it used. Regarding performance, with 16gb, a reasonably fast 256 SSD and the 10th Gen Core i5 is excellent, battery life is poor compared to the Surface Go 2 also. I would say the Surface Go 2 would be much better choice if it had a better processor then the M3.
Understandable. I haven't used the Go 2 for a year but your comments make sense. For me, I prefer the "lapability" of a traditional clamshell laptop like the Laptop Go over the Go 2's kickstand, and I hardly ever used the Go 2 without it's keyboard, so the Laptop Go is all in all a better experience for me. Agreed on buying used!
Hey! Great comparison between these models good job! One question left. I am going to buy an Surface Laptop Go with 8gigs of RAM with a 256gb ssd for studying software engineering. Can it handle all the programs I need to go through it and can I also do some light gaming on it (for example fortnite, valorant or csgo) Best wishes -Albert
Yes it should be great, the only thing I'd think about is the battery life. If you are going to need it for 8 hour sessions, then you might want to know where outlets are available
I picked up a Refurbished SLG for about $300 (4gb/64gb) thanks to your nvme upgrade video (I already have a 512GB SSD that was meant for a Surface Pro X but that SPX did not work out for me). Really hope it works out for a super portable machine. I work via remote servers, so 4gb should work fine. Now, hoping to not breakit when I open it. By the way, this model can supposedly support Windows 11. Found a recent article that said that Windows 11 on SLG works really well due to a parallel firmware upgrade. Any truth to that? Better battery life, bugs fixed, slightly better operating temps were mentioned. Maybe they tuned the audio a bit too? Thanks for putting these videos together.
Congrats, and I hope you love it! Windows 11 has been hot and cold for me. Whenever the device is updating it seems to consume a lot of resources. Otherwise, the 4GB manages on Windows 11 just fine. I wouldn't say I've noticed it being better than Windows 10, but I've been on Beta builds so stability might be lacking.
Hi. How many chrome tabs do you think I can keep open if I buy the laptop go? I was thinking to go with the 8GB model. I kind of use 4 browsers with around 8-10 tabs open on each of them. Do you think it will support that?
I wouldn't think the 4GB can keep that many tabs open, but Chrome adjusts RAM usage based on what's available. A faster SSD would lead to the tabs being refreshed fast enough to the point where it wouldn't matter (in my experience)
I have an option to get laptop go for 599$ 8/128 and laptop 4 for 699$ same specs I really like the go design but Seeing other reviews the screen resolution seems really bad since I’m also thinking to use for netflix and etc. I’m confused?
Surface Laptop 3 here. I love it. Very premium and fits for my needs.

I think that's a good call. I've seen a lot of discounts for the Go used and refurbished but closer to MSRP it's a tougher buy

I wouldn't say an awful lot. But yeah one of my biggest frustrations is that the fan turns on when charging regardless of what you're doing
@@innoiso does this apply to the surface laptop 3 too or just the surface laptop go ?
@@XBTAY The Surface Laptop 3 pretty consistently has the same issue, but not quite to the extent that the Surface Laptop Go has.
@@innoiso I see. This is unfortunate as the sound of the fans are really giving me a headache.

Does the no backlit on the keyboard on the surface laptop Go have any effect on your daily usage ?
Im pretty good at touch typing, and don't often work in the dark. So it doesn't make a big difference for me
Great comparison! I would love a laptop go 2 with 16GB RAM and LTE...
Thank you! And agreed I would love to see them make a Surface Laptop Go 2 just as capable as the SL4
Yes, the Laptop Go is definitely targeted for schools but I'd love to see more premium mini laptops for professionals as well!

Is it okay to use Microsoft laptop go for coding java and aem
Yes, I might recommend going for the 8GB RAM model, but it should work great!
Question, can I use Microsoft Surface Laptop 3 to set up active directory?

On low details it might be able to handle it, but the i5 10th gen is still not a great gamkng processor

I've never had a problem with the display watching Netflix. The screen density is comparable to 1080p on a 15 inch laptop.
The surface laptop 3 is still good in 2021 for school use?
Absolutely. It's a great laptop
Yes but just as expensive as laptop 4 🤷🏼♂️
Great comparison!
Thank you!
Best comparison on TH-cam 👌
Thank you!!!
I paid $309 for my SL3 13.5 black 256gb. I’m happy.
Nice!
Thank you so much bro i can decided now
great comparison thanks.
Thanks for watching!
