I just recently got my first resin printer a Mars 3 Pro. Compared to some pricing of other tools like Shapr 3d or Chitubox I think that 35 bucks for an entire year is very reasonable. Then again I am currently doing only really basic prints so I am not sure if it is missing something that is necessary for others. The app is easy to use, I think the icons for import/export should be flipped around. Export looks like you are importing and visa versa. It would be nice if they could add support to share from Shapr directly into Pikaslice without needing to save the stl file somewhere else.

With an iPad Pro 11 2020 I just tested scaling, rotating, auto support and paning around for 6 larger objects that cover nearly the whole Saturn build platform. Pikaslice performs blazing fast and I am really satisfied and blown away. 👍🏼
Thank you, everyone! I appreciate your help. 🙂 I gave it a quick look, and I think it’s definitely worth giving it a shot. I think the one thing that I’d love to see is one thing Jessy mentioned in the video... Magic Keyboard integration. (It’s my favorite accessory for the iPad.) It does work with the trackpad, but it spins the model so fast that it’s not really usable. Hi my friend... This video is telling about SLA printers of Pikaslice but it is not telling about Pikaslice's Fdm Printers how it works..? Can you make a video about it..? About How Pikaslice's FDM Printers works..?
Subscription sucks but for a solo developer who needs to ensure regular income and be motivated to continue improving and updating the software, $35 a year is manageable. Can it do the two stage lift or lower like newer Chitubox versions? I saw it had a paint supports function. Does that work okay? Does it have unsupported island detection? What about an auto save option (given it crashes a bit)? Can you support, hole and hollow a file and save to STL or only save as a sliced file or scene?
Let me ask you a question I just bought the Neptune three 3-D printer not the resin one the regular one, anyway my question is I searched on Google could not find anything does anybody sell micro SD cards preloaded with 3-D prints I don’t understand why I can’t find one in 2022 I’m not very good at computers I just want to buy some artwork that I can print ????
That looks like a really great option, and I will probably grab it to play with... But it loses me at the subscription. There are just way, way too many subscriptions out there. Also, I suspect that the kind of models I work with would make the workflow kind of unpleasant. 500-900 meg files are just a hassle to move on and off an iPad.
It’s disappointing that you complain about the cost (a single coffee per month) when you are sponsored for almost all your videos by Elegoo. A single engineer has significant costs for an app. Not to mention it’s how they support themselves and their families. $35/year is no different than buying it and having paid upgrades.
I think it's great that Jessy keeps average consumers in mind in spite being supported! And these subscription models that don't cover any cost but simply pour in money to the developers wether they keep working on the project or not have got to stop.
I have tested it; works amazing. Sadly I did not found anywhere I could see an estimate of the amount of resin to be used; only the CTB. For me this is important!

Super excited until I realized it's subscription based. I do not endorse recurring cost on the consumer for something that does not impose a recurring cost on the developer. I would have happily paid a one-time fee of $100 for a functional iOS slicer, but I won't be buying into the subscription model, like I prefer using sub-par but set price 3D modeling tools over subscription based tools like Shapr.
Im so tired of subscription software. Sure its cheep but I would much rather pay once and be don with it. Everything seems to be going to the sub model. I mean everything.
Willing to pay for apps, definitely NOT subscription on a monthly/yearly basis. Rather use ANY free mac/win slicer available. let me know when it becomes free, then I will give a go.
I hope like hell you're calling out this garbage "Software As a Service" behavior @Uncle Jessy - you should be telling your viewers not to tolerate this kind of predatory anti-consumer behavior. $35 a year... can't even just buy a piece of software now, you have to RENT it. Coming from 3D printing being all Open Source, shared knowledge, and free. If you aren't absolutely screaming from the rooftops for people to avoid this crap, you are the problem.
I’m all for a 1 time charge but seeing it’s just a single person who is developing/supporting this app I can completely understand why they went the saas route. It’s 1000% easier to support vs managing paid users on version x, then asking to pay to upgrade to version y, and then users complaining for fixes on version X when you are developing version Z (I used to manage a large scale software app and this was an absolutely nightmare). Developing on iOS does leave you a little limited with options. Maybe even a fully paid option with a lot more limited features. Def things to consider but still pretty dang cool to finally see someone attempt this
I’m sick of subscription based software. I don’t mind paying a reasonable purchase price to own something.. you can even take away support after a year and only offer it if I renew… but $4/month added onto the $2/mo and $15/mo and the other $35/mo and that one other $12/mo etc etc etc… it adds up. I have maybe 20 different subscriptions I have to deal with each month. Aside from the cost, it’s difficult to manage. $4/mo $40/year $240/lifetime max 20 prints per month $600/lifetime max 50 prints per month Or credits. Charge me per print. $10 bundle gets you 20 credits and you can even make them expire after 6 mo. or year
You had me until I heard subscription. FDM slicers.. free. Resin.. monthly blood donations. Ipad ready.. but pass. Give me a lifetime option and I will consider it.
The reality for app developers is that they need subscription pricing to be able to keep supporting development of the app beyond the initial release. Users want support and new features years beyond the initial version nowadays and a single up-front payment just doesn't cover that unless it's ridiculously high. Especially if it's a niche market where you won't get more than a few thousand sales if you're lucky.
@@scottanguish2714 no... How about a one time payment? Up until the invention of the iPhone and the greed of silicon valley wanting reoccurring payments everyone feels that it's a good idea when all they're doing is milking the consumer.

@@ccatlett1984 sure but it’s comparing an incomplete software with a fee vs free feature filled software that’ll work on pretty much any computer. The idea of slicing on a tablet sounds neat but not enough to justify charging for it.
@@OrwinSantaCruz there are large populations on the planet the don't have a normal computer, but have an ipad or android tablet. So this will open the market for 3d printing more. Uncle jessy.. idea for a video. DIY washing stations using things like fish tank water pumps and a diy resin curing station
THIS IS HUGE NEWS!
unfortunately, there is no weight estimation...

WOOO
Awesome app but I don’t do app subs. I would buy this app but no way will I do a subscription and don’t get me started with 3.99 a month jsmh
3d printers is cool
Im so tired of subscription software. Sure its cheep but I would much rather pay once and be don with it. Everything seems to be going to the sub model. I mean everything.
Willing to pay for apps, definitely NOT subscription on a monthly/yearly basis.
Rather use ANY free mac/win slicer available.
let me know when it becomes free, then I will give a go.
Okay 35$ a year is very reasonable. Unlike Chitubox.
🔥💕👍
Woww
Def things to consider but still pretty dang cool to finally see someone attempt this
Ipad out watching
Wait a sec, uv lamps are bad for your eyes😟
I’m sick of subscription based software. I don’t mind paying a reasonable purchase price to own something.. you can even take away support after a year and only offer it if I renew… but $4/month added onto the $2/mo and $15/mo and the other $35/mo and that one other $12/mo etc etc etc… it adds up. I have maybe 20 different subscriptions I have to deal with each month. Aside from the cost, it’s difficult to manage.
$4/mo
$40/year
$240/lifetime max 20 prints per month
$600/lifetime max 50 prints per month
Or credits. Charge me per print. $10 bundle gets you 20 credits and you can even make them expire after 6 mo. or year
This literally looks like lychee’s slicer …but on iPad
You had me until I heard subscription. FDM slicers.. free. Resin.. monthly blood donations. Ipad ready.. but pass. Give me a lifetime option and I will consider it.
Paid subscri..... Nope! No more subscriptions, I'm all subscribed out.
I’m sick and tired of subscription based apps. Give me a one time fee, not another cash cow.
Oh no, what happened to your eye brows? Are u ok?
Why does everything need to be a subscription? People end up having hundreds of dollars in subs each month. NO THANKS
Then pay $35 for the year.
Software doesn’t write itself.
@@scottanguish2714 no... How about a one time payment? Up until the invention of the iPhone and the greed of silicon valley wanting reoccurring payments everyone feels that it's a good idea when all they're doing is milking the consumer.
ipad cost a fortune
Nmms
subscriptions are theft, so no on this.
Useless. As someone new to all this, importing an already done file of an object doesn’t help. I need to know how to creat the object from scratch.
Did you not read the title of the video? This is for slicing a file. If you want to create a file Shapr3D has a basic free account and there are lots of tutorials online.
I was all on board until I heard subscription. Fuck all that. I’ll just use my computers for free. This would be neat but NOT subscription neat.
If you want continual development, subscription has become the norm. This is done by a single developer, he needs to eat...
On the "free" note, both Lychee and Chitubox have certain features behind a subscription tier. As this matures, I can see some things possibly being moved to a free tier, but honestly it's less than a Starbucks coffee a month....
👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 without paid is usless
Its big gay that it’s only for resin.
Depends on how much you would use it. I won’t pay for lychee or chitubox but if he maintains the app the $35 would be fair.
