You can sculpt infinitely into oblivion in Zbrush yes. That sculpting tool looked like the very basics of Zbrush, actually it looks closer to mudbox from autodesk but again with less features.
Have you by chance done a video on computer programs that allow for something more like sculpting like this, if not would this be something you would consider doing?
Anything that is made for precise hard lined objects (as in Shaper 3D), but for a one-time purchase? I'm just looking for something very rudimentary for perspective reference of simple objects - not organic sculpting like all the other examples in the video. Thanks!
Thank you so much for making this video. I got my iPad Pro recently just to be more productive in learning different art skills and to know that I’m able to sculpt 3D on a portable device is mindblowing🤯
I think shapr3d is great, but the cost of it now is ridiculous. When it first came out it was £79 a year, now i think it over £200. It was cheaper for me to buy a new desktop and get fusion.
Yeah, at this point I'm really only buying in when I have a design fully prepped that I want to export at full resolution. I do agree that it is a bit steep for that annual price. I still want to see if I can design a helmet in that app!
Since this video is 2 years old, i would like to ask (as a beginner in 3d modelling) 1)Can ipad pro completely replace my desktop for 3d modelling, character designing, rendering etc? or will my final touches still be dependent on pc 2)Is investing in an ipad smart or should i continue learning and working on my good old pc?
Personally it’s like a sketchbook, you can hone and sharpen your skills but think it’s good to get comfortable with both iPad and desktop drawings tablet setups, but if you’re building your skills from scratch id say go for the iPad, you can create anytime anywhere and those skills mostly carry over when you wanna get serious on pc.
Hello Hadia Rahat👋 It seems like both of us have the same issue. Lol. So have you decided to buy an iPad? I'm a student architect, so I was kind of stuck whether to buy one or not. Will it be useful for rendering and every softwares?
@@vavachi7040 hello! I didn't get an ipad yet. I am a student industrial designer at the moment myself. I have peers who use ipads all the time. What i have noticed is that ipads are good for initial concept designs and ideation. Maybe even for some decent sketching and basic rendering (i have seen procreates yet). But for detailed finishing and especially for architectural renders my personal observation is that laptops and PCs wIth good GPU's are the best. Ipad will only aid in the process. I am saving up for an ipad at the moment but not so much for the 3d rendering or modelling part of it anymore. Just an all time available easy to visualize concepts kinda tool. :D
Nope, not at all. You definitely need many tools that are not supported in the iPad pro, blender, maya, substance painter and designer, unity and unreal if you are into gaming... The list can be endless 🤣 From what I've seen on the App Store, these tools are nice and they can help you create amazing things but I would suggest getting a powerful laptop/pc
I know this response is somewhat late, but, could you do a video on how to get from the completed design to the conversation of file, to slicing, to print? Thanks
I just looked on the structures website. Which 3d scanner did you buy? I just want to use one to scan my small figure sculptures and maybe some peoples heads.
I'm looking for an 3D modeling app for my 2020 iPad Pro (12.9") that works like Blender 3D or Maya, takes advantage of the Apple Pencil and a Bluetooth mouse, and doesn't require a subscription. Buy once, keep forever. Ideally, I'd like a version of Blender that's optimized for the iPad Pro. What are my options?
Back then, when I saw this video, my iPad wasn’t even strong enough to handle a 3d program. But after getting the 2021 iPad Pro. I have more than enough power. Imma get this now.
Those run great on the cheaper ipad that work with the first version of the apple pencil. That's a really good entry price to do digital art with procreate and nomad
@photag216 Yup. I decided to get it so my daughter could learn some 3D sculpting. I ended up getting Zbrush for my Mac. Took awhile for me to relearn its interface.
Hi which iPad are you using? It's not not showing in your list of items etc...(iPad Pro 2017 from later comment FYI) which size 11 or the 12.9 inch one? .thanks Laurie
Love this content! I love adding fun creative apps to my iPad, so I'm grabbing Forger. I'm avoiding the subscription one because I'm not a fan of that business model for my personal use case. Certainly, if this is something you do daily, then the sub system supports the app development, but I'm not there yet. And I was typing this whole the outro was running, so just wanted to add that I love Brad's channel too! Great recommendations, great tutorials, great guy.
I am switching from Mac to IPad and at first was not going to use it for 3D design. I knew how to print things off of my Mac but am seeming to have some trouble converting my files from STL to GCode straight on my iPad,. If you have any tips that would be great.
So, are all of the models you design able to be exported and 3D printed ? I’m wanting an excuse to buy an iPad Pro, at the moment I use FreeCad and Cura (I have a E Pro V2) on my crappy old laptop and it’s about to die on me for sure. It’s super slow and I’ve been wanting to buy an iPad anyway regardless, but if I can move my 3D printing antics over there too that’ll be amazing! I was assuming if I bought one I’d only really be able to use it for designing/drawing, note taking, and media consumption… hence my not wanting to fork out the money!

I'd love to avoid the price point of the pro if at all possible, and this would be my limiting factor... I would highly highly highly recommend Nomad Sculpt which released shortly after I made this video. The Air should be able to easily handle most of what you throw at it.
@@UncleJessy thank you!
