His sister was very ignorant until she knew about it every time she saw that hologram she's happy to see that he was a hero but she also feel sadness because he was trying so hard to keep promises that he could never fulfill
True and a man like that would obviously try to help someone who's about to fall to the dark side and there's Disney trilogy which shows how they don't care about character development
Would love to see this story in live action. Shame is Disney, but it would be amazing to see Luke revisiting Tatooine and his thoughts about Anakin’s Life
What angers me is that the Jedi just abandoned Shmi. And they did it on purpose. Because they knew that they needed to indoctrinate him to not have "attachments" and a mother is a serious attachment.
The irony is that Anakin might've let his attatchments go if he'd been allowed to get even the sleightest bit of closure on his past. If he'd been allowed to put the ghosts of his past to rest, he may not have been so ruthlessly haunted by them.
I hope this gets included and mentioned in The Mandoverse. I'd love to see a 29-year-old Luke Skywalker revisit Tatooine, and have this experience, having a flashback (the deleted scene with Luke and Biggs Darklighter discussing the conflict between The Rebellion and The Empire) to the day before he left tatooine, in A New Hope. I also very much want to see him take up a Skywalker fan's invitation to pilot a newer model of the T-16 Skyhopper he crashed years ago, flying through Beggar's Canyon once more. The feels that would bring...
Anakin for his whole life felt like he was a slave to everyone, with watto, with the Jedi, and with the sith. Luke gave him that freedom a sense of peace now he's free from being a tool to anyone
Anakin wasn’t a slave to the Jedi. The Jedi never forced Anakin to stay with them and would have sent Obi-Wan to look after Anakin if he did quit, per a canon comic.
The Jedi Council literally brainwashed Anakin to leave his mother behind to train to become a Jedi only to mistreat, disrespect, and mistrust the Chosen One who must fullfill the prophecy (of defeating the Sith, bringing balance to the force, saving the Galaxy) since he was 9 years old fresh out of childhood enslavement. Not to mention having to call your "mentor/friend/brother" master and other Jedis of higher ranking master must've triggered painful, traumatic memories.
I'm with Luke on his position with Darth Vader. Given what Anakin went through and how he was raised by the Jedi Order, his sense of morality was warped long before he turned to the dark side (and in my opinion the Jedis' sense of morality was worse then Anakin's). Because of all that I cannot condemn him for any of his actions as Darth Vader. At the same time I don't condone them or justify them either. He had ample opportunities to make different decisions that would've set himself free from both his inner darkness, the Jedi order, and Darth Sidious. Granted in his position and state of mind it would've been VERY difficult for him to do, and IMPOSSIBLE for him to go it alone(which is why he ultimately sought out Darth Sidious). But it was possibilities were still there.
Agreed. At the end of the day, Palpatine was the dark master behind everything. Anakin was the apprentice who was seduced because of his own weaknesses.
No. It was a decision to enjoy the evil he did. Vader was an evil monster. He butchered manny innocent people for his own satisfaction. And it all started from when he was Anakin and he would do murder in the name of the good. He became a monster.
I see why Leia didnt wanna learn about anakin for the most part. Although yes Vader did some horrible things, but learning about you're heritage can be enlightening in certain ways.
This made me realize for the first time that the movies don't really make sense regarding this. The Pod Race would have made Anakin a local legend. Someone of all the people that Luke encountered during his childhood would have made the connection and told him about Anakin as they shared the same name - Skywalker.
@@RetneysHolocron Seems plausible. Is there any mention in SW media of the distance btw? If it's true, then Owen went a long way to find a slave. Not that that wouldn't be possible or anything, just saying. 🙂
Owen definitely knew that Shmi was a slave, he’s about the same age as Anakin and Cleeg purchased Shmi no more than ten years before Attack of the Clones. Doesn’t mean Luke would know that though.
So was this just a retelling of Leia’s trip to tattonie? Because I feel this hit a lot of the same markers as the book “Ghost of Tattonie” when Leia discovers her fathers past.
I think they both discovered things about their dad that's why leia ultimately realized he was a victim of manipulation anyone was to blame it was Palpatine but she also wishes that she could learn more about why he turned to the dark side I think she now open we knew that because of the death of her grandmother and ankin's friends including her mom is what drove him to the dark side including Ahsoka leaving the Jedi Temple
The truth about anagon aka darth vader, he was born out of the evils of the world. Unlike osoka or Obi-Wan he was born into a hostile environment and his mother was the only one who looked out for him until Obi-Wan. Honestly anagan felt betrayed by the jedi which is why he killed them. He joined to protect those he cared for not to be a mystic pacifists and Obi-Wan knew that.
Didn't Anikan come back as a force ghost? He did at the end of ROTJ. Would make sence if Anikan came back as a force ghost and told him. Also r2d2 knew Anikan and Padme couldnt r2 have told him? He couldve shown him recordings.
Just curious, to save time and energy and he would have all the information, why couldn't Luke ask the Force Ghosts of Anakin, Obi Wan, and Yoda himself instead?
Despite Anakin being an arrogant and selfish person, the Jedi after Qui-Gon’s death did nothing to deal with the suppression of trauma from Anakin’s past life. Avoiding attachment and not giving real support only pushed a broken and desperate man to what he thought was his only option. Though Luke’s Order was not a utopia, it was by and large extremely better than the previous two Orders.
He wasn't that completely selfish, dude, because, despite his darker traits, he was still a good man who suffered so much trauma and lost his mother that it drove him to be so obsessive over his wife due to his inability to accept loss. He was prideful and arrogant due to his power and skills too, but it should not take away the fact that Anakin was always trying to be a good person and had a good heart and cared too much for people, which is why he would act like he does in terms of his aggressive moments and such.
@@SWDude2710 In the end Anakin’s emotions were selfish and he killed his wife and attacked his Master and best friend. We agree the Jedi did nothing to help Anakin, but he knew what he was doing.
