Not only had the Sith evolved, the Jedi were manipulated and weakened by the Sith for decades. The Darth Plagueis novel goes deep into how the Sith had bent the Jedi to servitude of the Republic, a distraction that weakened them in the Force.
This proves what I always theorized by watching the movies, and seeing how things turned out. I have to get these novels now. But with Yoda realizing that he could not beat Sidious because the Sith had evolved, means that the Sith for years, had studied the Jedi right under their noses. Sidious had access to the Jedi Archives as Chancellor of the Senate, and manipulated the Jedi by having governance over them and their Council. The Jedi had also been manipulated into being the pawns and peaceful enforcers of a highly corrupt Senate. Sidious also had many Jedi to either turn away to join with Count Dooku (Darth Tyranus) and his separatist movement, or join Sidious at his side as his apprentice (both Dooku and Anakin). So with all that the Jedi had known, combined with how the Sith realized HOW they lost to the Jedi in the past, and then rebranding their philosophy with the “Rule of Two,” along with the arrogance and at times complacency of the Jedi Council and their draconian rules… this novel confirms that downfall in great detail. Yoda and Windu made a lot of mistakes, and as a Council, learned nothing from the downfall of the Old Republic. Going back and watching the movies now just makes you wish that a burned out George Lucas had more in the tank to make the movies as detailed as the novels. This is why Luke Skywalker’s Order was so much better because he learned from the past, and his Order was able to survive and thwart a third purge that basically went nowhere.
This channel quickly becoming one of my favourite!Keep it up man! I never understood why Yoda flew, now i know:because he finally understood he cant win and hes not prepared for this kind of sith.
This makes sense....yet it's ironic that all those years Plagueis and Sidious studied about the Jedi to dismantle them under their nose, it only took about 20 years for his rule to end by the very apprentice he manipulated
I still don't see how Yoda was considered the paragon of the light side. He involved himself and the Jedi in a war against the will of the Force. While it will not steep him in the Dark Side like killing a temple full of younglings, it still would have corrupted him and the entire Jedi order, which is why their connections to the Force were weakened. Yoda lost, because he was not that paragon and the only one that actually existed at the time, Qui-Gon, was already dead.
Thats not that simple. Not that the Jedi wanted to go to war willingly, they HAD to.Why?Because they got their money and everything from the senate.Basically they depended on the senate, and when war called they had to answer.Kind of when you get the letter from your government you have to go play soldier in a war🙂
Paragon may be the wrong word, but Yoda was indeed the vessel of the Light at that moment A highly flawed one that, like you said, didnt fit the bill like Qui Gon did as he stood against the Balance the Light was supposed to embody However with Qui Gon's death and the Choosen One going full Vader at the time he was really the only one left other than Obi-Wan facing the darkness, which just shows how dire the situation had become
Sidious spent the entire fight running away from Yoda. He doesn't do that if he thinks he is winning. Yoda was able to break through the shroud of the darkside, mid battle, to perciece the truth, as no other jedi was strong enough to do, and humble enough to realize his role was a different, delayed, less prominent one, and accept that as the will of the force. Meanwhile, Sidious never could perceive the actual will of the force. I just couldn't have a more opposite interpretation. Yoda displayed himself to he far superior to Sidious through the battle and his sight of the force long term.
I like how they sarcastic bitchin each other. Yoda felt "pity" for Vader going to lose his master... Ahaa sure. Emperor wishes Yoda a "happy empire day" Ahaaa sure. They are so good friends 😂
He had better things to do than to give an utterly defeated enemy a chance to win. Like warning his apprentice, finishing the war, securing his new position establishing new political order, rewarding useful people...
Sidious is playing chess while y’all placing checkers. He has a 100% of winning the war. Why give the enemy what he wants, even a 1% chance? It’s math. This why the Jedi got stale and faded, they don’t understand math 🤷♂️ 😂
There was no light side user that could beat Sidious. They were all so weak compared to him that he could cloud their ability to use the force among all the thousands of them all by himself. You actually believe one jedi alone would measure up?
Yoda ask him, if so powerful you are, why you leaving? To old? I think not! He beat him at everything he did, until Yoda slipped and fell off and lost his saber.
Yes! People don't realize that even holding a stalemate against a dark side user means the Jedi in question was more powerful, since the Darkside on an individual level is stronger.
What do you mean that the more yoda shone in the light the darker the shadow of the dark side would become? Like him being a stringer jedi would only make the sith more powerful? Doesn’t make much sense to me
yoda actaully won this fight if you watch it carefully. A. sidious was in ocmplete shock after yoda threw him back like a ragdoll and he was scared and treid to run B. yoda won the lightsabre fight slightly, disarmed sidious first. and palpatine had guess what , the high ground. gravity helped assist hthose pods, yoda lower to the ground caught and threw one back UP at sidious totally confuding him C. yoda did eventuallly lose is sabre somewhow. but they got to the ulimate weapon s of siddious. his force lighting using both hands at full power, yoda absrobed and pushed back on ALL of that. palps face showe him getting angry and struggling. so Yoda was on the top of the pod on the outside, palpas was inside . yoda is 8 x lighter than palapatien roughly. based on their size diffrence. sidious got pushed back like 6-8 feet and caught by th epod being inside. yoda barely fell over backwards but on the edge and fell don. meaning yoda literally pushed sidious back much further then yoda got pushed back. yoda wins this part. yes it is a very very touch match an dfairly even still. so by the time yoda fell all tehway down he sensed that 100s of stormtroopers were coming. if you are busy utilized every strain of your jedi power against th egreatest darkside user in history focusing 100 percent of your energy on it. he would easily die from 100 other people shotting at him he could not focus on, and knew he had to sit back awhile and get luke trained one day
Unfortunately for the prequels Palp had the plot armor of the Original trilogy forcing Palpatine to need to win, this was as you say however, Palp being overwhelmed by Yodas power
@@stevebyra7795 pretty much. bascially anikin had to be turned to the dark side, the jedi had to be wized but obiwan and yoda had to survive, the emporor had to survive etc.. otherwise the original trilogy would have made zero sense , diseney already did that with the sequels
Basically, you said everything I wanted to say! Only thing I can add is that presumably Palpatine initial lightening attack hurt Yoda, as it launched him into a will, knocking him out briefly. For such an elderly and presumably wounded Jedi Master to rise to his feet, and launch the Dark Lord of the Sith clear across his office, using a one-handed force push hints at the frightening knowledge of the force, and raw force power Master Yoda commanded. At that moment, Palpatine realized he had grossly underestimated his opponent, and was in trouble. At this point, he tried to run, but Yoda cut him off, and stood waiting with a light saber. We never get to see how Palpatine lost his light saber in the movie, presumably cut because of time. Here is the original concept for the fight between Yoda and Palpatine as laid out on the digital story board. It was never filmed, but you can find it in the extras on the second disk in the Deluxe edition of Revenge of the Sith: th-cam.com/video/370Szwj1EJ0/w-d-xo.html
I dont like this. In the movies, which I consider to be the best source material, it was clear that yoda was the better adversary. Especially in the moments before the bang that separated them, you could see that palpatine was getting overwhelmed. So all this theories that came after...its just a piece of junk.
This isn't Theory, he's reading this from the novelization of the movies, credited by George Lucas. And even if it wasn't Yoda wasn't better, they were equal in power and skill, but different sources of which they drew their power.
This isn’t theory, this is the novelization of the battle. Yoda realized in the end he was simply unable to do what he’d intended, which was destroy the Sith.
Yoda was way too much on the light side.. The sith adapting to understand the Jedi is exactly why Mace Windu was the only one that could defeat Sidious with Vaapad.

Can you tell me which novel Yoda?

The Jedi of the Republic were too oblivious to the fact that the Sith are still around. That’s why Palpatine won so easily.
In Legends
That third purge went nowhere until Ben Solo and the First Order.

Thanks for the chill video bro, appreciated it
Great video. I love when you read from books, theres so much more insight in the novels. Just awesome 😎

Not really. Sidious realized a victory would be too risky. That is why he did what he could to run.
With Palpatine pretending to be Yoda’s friend for all those years he has him completely duped. Palps was insane.
Now this was quite insightful
I absolutely love this video. Thank you!
Thank you for your videos. They are absolutely amazing :)
I always wondered how his thoughts were during that moment
From the golden days of the Republic through the chaos of clone wars and the evil rule of the empire
He was thinking about his ketamine stash on dagobah.
"Neither he, nor the murderer he called Vader" would find today happy at all"
Vader: I find such an understatement disturbing
I like how they sarcastic bitchin each other.
Yoda felt "pity" for Vader going to lose his master... Ahaa sure.
Emperor wishes Yoda a "happy empire day"
Ahaaa sure.
They are so good friends 😂
Sidious knew he cannpt defeat master yoda. That's why he ran away from master yoda.
He had better things to do than to give an utterly defeated enemy a chance to win. Like warning his apprentice, finishing the war, securing his new position establishing new political order, rewarding useful people...

Yoda's shockness still gives me HOPELESSNESS....
Yoda ask him, if so powerful you are, why you leaving? To old? I think not! He beat him at everything he did, until Yoda slipped and fell off and lost his saber.
Bullshit
Yes! People don't realize that even holding a stalemate against a dark side user means the Jedi in question was more powerful, since the Darkside on an individual level is stronger.
that does make alot of sense
Palpatine ran from Yoda he used the force to throw those objects at Yoda to get distance so he could escape
What do you mean that the more yoda shone in the light the darker the shadow of the dark side would become? Like him being a stringer jedi would only make the sith more powerful? Doesn’t make much sense to me
I'm reading from the novelization of Episode 3 👍

Totally agree. Glad some one else sees it!
Palpatine haf plot armor which is why this duel had to end this way

Yoda got handled and begged bail to hurry up so he could run away
Pride.
Path to the Darth Yodel.
What a fail.
Wonder Yoda would have killed sidious would he had fell to the darkside

It's not a theory. It's literally from the Revenge of the Sith novelization.
I hate sheev
Yeah but you cant deny his intelligence and power
I reckon Yoda was thinking, "If i drop this fart, hear it, will he?" Y'see Yoda knew that was also a path to the dark side! 💩💩💩
That’s some funny shit
I knew it...jedi are weak and not worth a damn
first lol
Yoda was way too much on the light side..

I can trust Disney with an alternate timeline universe just PLEASE leave The old Republic ALONE!😖😖😖..
WE DONT NEED Bi sexual Revan lol..
