Hey Inga, Have been trying this coffee for years now. There is this version of filter coffee in India what we do, boil your milk to a simmer and, to that coffee mix you just made add the warm milk. It helps in easy mixing and incorporates the flavour evenly...
@@catsfirst Someone being triggered by 2 words, low key. But also fyi, I still hear people using low key pretty often. So I low key want you to be triggered again.
It should be called the "quarantine coffee" cause it literally takes 14 days to be made. And also because we are all making it. Stay at home kids and do coffee.
Ingredients: 30 mg of instant coffee 30 mg of sugar 30 ml of hot water (The process will be faster if you use hot water) Tilt the bowl slightly and mix in a vertical motion. After a few minutes, it should come together. If not, keep mixing. When you are satisfied with the coffee, get a cup. Put ice in the cup, then add milk. Finally, add the coffee on top and enjoy.
1 2 the amount of coffee you put in via the recipe is the equivalent of three cups of coffee. I recommend watching James Hoffman’s video on this as he kind of breaks it down scientifically. Also it seems having the water cold brings up the viscosity and it actually works better!
In Greece most people’s coffee choice is basically this. It’s called “frappe” we whip the coffee with a machine and mix it well in cup with closed lead. Some people drink this with water and other with milk but ALWAYS cold
Trueee...i actually weird out when people asked me "Have you try making this dalgona coffee?" While i just looked and think.... Isn't this what we called frappe??😂
Oh god, I went to Crete a few years back and one of my favorite things there was the frappe coffee, literally even the tiniest places on isolated islands next to the coast, would sell it
@@ghoste8069 I tool a bowl that was maybe too wide and used all the same measurements and an electric mixer and it was just slightly creamy but definitely liquid
pal it’s not the bowl that’s the problem it’s the water you used that’s too much I use a 1:1:1 ratio so if you’re gonna use 1 table spoons of coffee and sugar use 1 table spoon of water
Pro tip: Tilt the bowl to one side so more air will enter and thus lesser stir time 🤟🏻 (been doing this everyday as my parents loved it so really this works 😉)
I hope you've been using a hand mixer if you're making it everyday. 0_0 That's a lot of work. But I agree, I use a tall narrow cup, and it makes it quicker. But I do use a handmixer. I've never done it without one, and I honestly never will.
She whisked it wrong which is why it took forever. When you're whisking this, make sure to tilt the bowl slightly and whisk in an up and down circular motion, not like a flat circular motion. And when you start whisking, DO NOT STOP until it reaches the consistency you want. If you do it right it'll only take 3-4 minutes till it's nice and fluffy.
@@musicmakesmelosecontrol8238 think about when you're making hot coco and you pour the mix into the cup, you start stirring it, that's a flat circular motion. What you wanna do is holding a whisk (or spoon) hold the bowl tilted, and whisk in a circular motion but like you're feeding yourself something to eat. Vertical whisk I guess in a way. Watch other videos and you'll see what I'm talking about.

I’m from India and I’ve been making “whipped coffee” for literally all my life. greek’s have frappe’s, Italians have caffè crema. It has been around for a long time, but it’s interesting to see the different variations of this drink, and how it’s growing in popularity!
In January i go to my Pakistani friend home, she offer me her "secret recipe" coffee. After month i see it everywhere in korean youtuber channel called "Dalgona". 🤣
Yeah, this has been around for YEARS. It's just now getting popular due to someone from South Korea discovering it. That someone must have been very influential. It's definitely not called Dalgona. Considering that it's true origin is hard to pin-point (as there are many people around the world who have grown up to this drink), it's best to dub it whipped coffee and leave it as that. The whole "Dalgona" title is misleading.
@@gcbeautylover1 I think you are right, Cause Dalgona is a cookie made by melted sugar and soda. (Not drink) So someone (probably Korean) introducing this, think it's better to localize the name so that other Korean people to feel more interested.

Ok, let tell everyone something interesting. My dad used to work in an oil company in the jungle of Ecuador 20 years ago. And my dad told me that his coworkers and him used to make this recipe. 20 YEARS AGO IN THE MIDDLE OF THE JUNGLE!!!!!
Hey guys I made this manually today and even without hot water ( I used room temperature water but I think hot water would have made it easier) and it turned out great! I used around 2 tablespoons of coffee and sugar and water. My advice: make sure you use enough sugar as it’s really important for it to become frothy. Also, make sure you use a whisk! I used a fork in the beginning and it took forever until I found my whisk. It did take time but it was fun and a mini workout lol. Put on a show or TH-cam and get whisking! Btw with my proportions I was able to make also 2-3 cups of coffee for me and my family. Tell me how it works out for you guys! Also as a persona, preference I lightly mixed in some brown cane sugar at the end so I got slight sugar crystals while I drank it which elevated the drink for me. Thanks so much for posting this Inga! You inspired me, and my family and I loved the drink! ❤️

I have even topped this over some cool desserts like homemade chocolate mousse and vanilla ice cream. I'm telling you. If you love coffee, try this! 💖
@@fernandamartinez6184 unfortunately no. The science with instant coffee is that its already been brewed but freeze dried. The dried method with the coffee holds its form better when whipped with sugar. And limited with the amount of water added into it. It gives it time to froth up properly. With brewed coffee, there's too much liquid already and it leaves a bad bitter aftertaste. It may leave a gritty texture behind. It usually won't froth properly. You could try doing a strong brew and chill it first before whipping. Hold it under an ice bath and use an electric whip. I tried this method and it kinda worked but not the same way instant coffee works. It won't be as creamy.
Same here like my whenever anyone in our family makes coffee we always use this recipe and it’s so fun to know that we were using this recipe before it become famous

I recommend that you use an electric mixer. --> @ Also, I saw some people comment that this is actually Greek coffee and they do the same thing but they add the froth first then milk and ice after so its much easier to stir! Also another recommendation is to use heavy whipping cream instead of water.

I’m from India and I’ve been making “whipped coffee” for literally all my life. We call it beaten coffee and two pro tips I would give you if you were beating it by hand are: add ice cold water before and use a spoon to beat the coffee - makes it much easier. Also make a big batch and keep it in your fridge. It sits easily for a week.
If you use a smaller container, doesn't it make it quicker to cream?

Yeah, this has been around for YEARS. It's just now getting popular due to someone from South Korea discovering it. That someone must have been very influential. It's definitely not called Dalgona. Considering that it's true origin is hard to pin-point (as there are many people around the world who have grown up to this drink), it's best to dub it whipped coffee and leave it as that. The whole "Dalgona" title is misleading.
@@gcbeautylover1 I think you are right, Cause Dalgona is a cookie made by melted sugar and soda. (Not drink)

Your dad and his guys are ballers then
Hey guys I made this manually today and even without hot water ( I used room temperature water but I think hot water would have made it easier) and it turned out great!

Mimiru Doll do you have to use instant coffee? Can you use ground coffee?
