@@rushnerd it's actually different for model year in each Celica, I know that the later models (starts around 2004) has a lift that doesn't kick in until about 7,200 to 7,400 rpm. If yours also kicks in at 6200, it means you have the ECU that does so
@@ruin3800I was owner of a Celica 2zz MY2004, the lift engagement was at 6200. Never heard of a 2zz stock from Toyota engaging lift over 7000. That would be pretty silly and useless at this point.
That's because the intake is aimed at the back of the engine. There is no isolation at the fire wall on this old car so it's ear deafening LOUD! Thanks for asking.
What you’re hearing is induction sound (aka intake noises). Individual throttle body (ITB) setups typically have trumpet-looking pathways into the intake valves. This kind of ITB setup typically will not have an intake manifold and is only for naturally-aspirated platforms. There’s another ITB setup like the ones in the F10 M5 or E9x M3 where they have intake plenums/manifolds.
Hey man, thanks! All videos of this car are shot with an Iphone 13 Pro (wide angle camera) except this one. This one is shot on a Gopro Hero 8. On Both camera's i used a custom made bite mounts. The Gopro looks ands sounds better in my opinion but i have to look into why its so dark. Hope to get that fixed on the next video.
First of all I bought a JDM spec Ecu to not have to deal with the immobilizer. It’s possible to wire the immobilizer in but I skipped that part so I don’t know how. I sliced the ae92 Ecu wiring loom open and used the original ae92 fusebox. Planted the 2zz engine in with all the wires and connections except for the original fusebox since I used my own. Searched Ecu and fusebox wiring diagrams for both engines and mated them together. It’s a huge mess in the middle of the process but it’s definitely worth it. All information you need can be found online for free on the internet but if you need help, let me know! Good luck!
Bro I installed the horn on this steering. The horn system from the old steering had to be removed and placed onto the one installed in yours currently. I have no blinker issues but my old steering being a 2 spoke one does not allow me to honk the horn when I press on the bottom spoke.

2zz is a great engine tho
i love the 2zz, i recently swapped on into my Celica woth a C60, i got a spwcial factory ecu to lower lift to 6200 rpms. Such a fun motor

How the hell is it so loud? It's almost like you've stripped the interior, but you haven't...
Maybe ITBs

I have an ae92 that I’m wanting to 2zz swap. What all did you have to do wiring wise to get this to working?

kind of shift knob your using ??
If you search EBay for “universal gear shifter lever” you’ll find multiple examples. Don’t know exactly which one I picked.

Did it not stay in lift after the first couple shifts?
I could rev higher to combat that. This one was to show more lift noises.

granny shifting because you cannot shift this POS gearbox like a honda
No issues with the gearbox at all. I can shift very fast with it. Just like a Honda. If it lasts… time will tell.
Ok, Dominic

Were shifting at max rpm? 1-2-3 kept going off the Lift
Yeah was done intentionally to produces more lift noises. It can be revved higher to stay in lift. Thanks for the question 👍
