- That's right, more old vids lol, if you don't follow me on IG then this car has been sold for a while now, this is from an old event this Jan. I haven't made too many videos for this car so here it is, I might make another one for this car, still have a lot of old footage.
You managing that skid at 10:30 was so impressive my guy. I was expecting snap oversteer there lol.
Finally someone who agrees that the 2ZZ sounds better than the Honda K series!
Car sounds great, I've always wanted a 2ZZ swapped MRS/MR2! I've had four cars with this engine, but never an MR2.
I'll probably get another Celica for track though, I'm more familiar with FWD cars and fast driving.

@@Swazy72 Right but a K20 swap cost is going to be like 2-3x as much as the 2zz. And it's not that much better NA.
@@frederickschulze8014 i have a k20 in mine. It is so so much better than the 2zz. They are way better n/a you can easily get 300hp n/a from a k20. Ive never seen a n/a 2zz make anything close to that...

yep, 2zz best sounding 4 cyl engine ever. Have k24 spyder now and I'm trying to make it sound close to it, but just can't replicate.

@5:50 It is just a Dodge Viper Competition Coupe or a replica of said coupe. Hard to tell without matching numbers. 530 horses in a composite body and 0 to 60 mph in less than 4 seconds. I don't think a souped up Toyota "MRS" that is a USDM MR2 can keep up on the straights without crazy mods.
i don't know how you get to drive all these cars but i'm happy fubuki is on your side when some UFO viper thing appears
2zz just sounds so good. All that induction noise. It's just too bad Toyota paired it with the C60 transmission.
C60 is fine for most N/A applications

I'm really not sure what you're talking about when you write "actually make some power" (7:43). My MR2 has a 2zz in it with the Lotus supercharger and delivers roughly 330 hp. Daily driven and highly reliable by the way. I use that thing to drive to work. If you can't get enough power out of your 2zz, you're doing something wrong.
What are component you have done for build head? just curious bc I want to build my 2ZZ head too. Yamaha mechanical piano sound so good. 😄
I have two of these motors... I wanna build one for NA 9k+ revs but can't really find any builds for one outside of mindlessly scrolling through MWR and the other I wanna see how much boost I can shove in to it via a supercharger and turbo setup basically a drag and a track/street car build.

Couple corners, you can take outside line instead of following those tails. May require some balls and charging corner.
These engine can make up to 250 HP at the wheels Natural aspartate and 10,500 rpm with the power band not falling. The 2zz is under rated but check out the cars in Jamaica Sanchez.
Agree I have friend with 250k kms and 30.000kms with 370hp gtx2867 with unopened 2zz. Before that greedy compressor with 280hp really strong reliable and under ratted engine
My friend has a turbo engine 11 lbs boost unopened making 420 stock except for the injectors
@legonatick wow! 420hp for stock 2zz with 11.5:1 comp. Is really impressive! Also this engine go over 250k miles easy if maintenance is good. Some 2zz broken with stock oil pan in track days (oil starvation) and some issues like wiped intake camshaft because of wrong and bad oil. The oil pump doesn't need change except if go over 9.000 rpm (misshift)
Yep my oil pump just exploded. After giving a Mercedes AMG 2 cars I went from 4th to 3rd
@legonatick sorry about that mate, I have a corolla Tsport (european xrs) with 192hp and 100.000 kilometers. I come from ep3 typer and seat Leon cupraR and the 2zz it doesn't disappoint me at all, I like it very much in all sections, I don't know if I will ever sell it, probably not.
Which header you using? A cammed 2ZZ making 180whp is low even on 2ZZ standards
Head specifics? Cams, springs, retainers, porting, etc

Interested in what engine mods you have to rev it out to 9k? I’m just running a stock long block with big intake, and exhaust with a sports cat with an apexi power fc, I rev mine out to 8,450 😊
Stock bottom end. Billet oil pump gear, MWR stage 3 cam, upgrade valve, valve spring and valve retainer

Just outta curiosity, is there a specific way to heel toe in a zzw30? I was gonna start experimenting with it, but I realize the gas pedal is higher than the brake pedal which means I'd need to press on the neck of the brake. How do you go about it?
I’m in a RHD version, but I essentially just use the side of my foot on the brake. More so side to side of foot than heel toe haha
@@zzwk24 I've sold my mr2 now but I could never find a good clip with the foot view of the mr-s. I figure I'd have to do toe/heel like nascar drivers, and now I have a gto with a 6 speed with the same pedal depth, so I guess I'll just have to get used to it. I wish there was an option for pedal adjustment though.
how is the 2zz plagued with weird issues? My only other option is to turbo a 1zz but those things guzzle engine oil. K swap is too expensive.
Stock oil pump will delete itself if you rev it out as intended too much. Oil systems is a joke, valve train also like to eat itself a part from track used. And more and more lol

@@povilaslondon not really, it's a cheap swap and completely make the chassis more enjoyable, you just need to keep these issue in mind

Lol I should be driving that thing if you wanted to see a good lap time. There was way 2 much time between gear changes and there was a lot of opportunities to pass the slower cars. Great cornering skills and approaches almost perfect along with great reflexes.

@@mexicanomzo Tiene el desgaste de los tornillos de alzada,el piñón de la bomba de aceite,en cada cambio cae por debajo de las 6.000 rpm si te coje en cuesta imagina,el Carter no está bien terminado suelen montar el del 1zzfe para que la bomba aceite no quede vacía y gripe,no tiene autoblocante y tiene muy poco par.
Bajo mi punto de vista tiene unos cuantos errores graves para ser un motor Toyota con Yamaha es cutre chino.
