Hey there that was a really great video. There is a very good case for owning both cameras. The 40 being a standard lens is ideal for all sorts of daily uses and is probably the more useful focal length overall as a daily carry camera for family photos, portraits and so on but for travel and for street the 28 really comes into its own. The 28 always gives the context of the place.
Yeah, for myself, for travel it's 28mm all the way. I went on a trip recently to Beppu in Oita. I shot in the city and in the mountains, and even though I had my big camera with me I ended shooting my GR for 90% of the trip. It's just too convenient and very versatile! :)
This is one of the best promotional videos I've seen, and I mean it as a compliment! A wonderful inspiring and honest experience with a load of great shots. Also quite thought-provoking for me as a GRIII owner. Lukasz, you rock.
Thank you!! I try not to shill too hard, just give my genuine opinion. But I am biased because I am a fan of GR cameras and hope they sell well so Ricoh continues to make them, haha. :)
Good video, I have both. An original GR shooter, and got very used to the 28mm focal length. Just got back from a trip carrying both, and I found my images with the x more interesting. That surprised me. During the trip I found I got into 'grooves' shooting with one of the two and stuck with it. I think if I only had one of the two I'd be happy and not wishing for the other. I think I just adjust and 'see' through that focal length. Both are great.
Great video! I have the GR III and have run into a brick wall with the focal length learning curve. I have shot a lot of 35/50 focal length in the past with DSLR cameras so having something so wide its a steep learning curve for me. I wasn't sure if the GR IIIx may be a better choice so I can ease my issue with composition, something more familiar, but watching you work in this video really inspired me to keep the GR III and keep on working on mastering the 24mm.
Always great to see Lukasz on this channel. He is convincing me to get a GRIII as my primary camera, since many manufacturers don't take the focal length so seriously. Even though there is no flip up screen for waist level shooting, I'm becoming convinced that I can upgrade from my X70 and be happy with the experience.
I really like your channel. I actually learn a lot about how you frame shots, use color, and perspective. I subscribed many months ago and continue to look for new content. Keep up the great work.
WOW I was literally considering this today since I’m selling my full frame wide angles and my GR iii x doesn’t really do wide that well. I shot a lot of 28mm with my Nikon so now I’m kinda used to it. Looking forward to this video.
Yeah, but that would just show you the crop factor, which is really not that interesting. The point is that the different FOVs affect how I think about a scene. It makes no sense to shoot them same angle with different focal lengths. :)
I wish you would correct the captions. Everything is showing as GR III, even when you're referring/using the X. It's a bit confusing.

You will eventually get used to it! Try to implement angles and feel 'free' to move it around as much as possible. :)

It's basically my daily carry. I never leave home without it. :)
Heading to Mexico in a few days with this combo. Small, light and very capable. Thanks for inspiration
Great to see both cameras being used. It appears he favored the III over the IIIx in most of these situations.
Yeah, now after months of using both I can say I prefer the 3 over the 3x. :)

Thank you! :)
Wow Lukasz you got some really cool photos in this video 👍
Thank you!! I am always worried about getting food photos, haha. :)
Nice video, thank you Lukasz :)
Thanks! Glad you liked it! :)
Stop making us buy both!!!
Ricoh GR IV when

I like both GRs, but if I had to choose one for myself I would go for the 28mm one. :)
great video, i have the gr3 and the x, been looking for a suitable bag for then, what is the bag your using in this video?
The bag is from a brand called Squalo Works but I've only seen them in Japan.
@@EYExplore thanks!
12:38 very good image quality
Kindly make a video on different auto focus modes of Ricoh GR iii and when to use what mode
It would be a simple video for me because I use one mode 99% of the time: pin-point AF with the center point.
I can't tell when you show the picture you took watch camera did you use??
Please make a 20mm special edition, the teleconverter is cool but it’s quite large.
Would have been a great video for image comparison if you didn't mess up the title for the shots. All the photos are being mentioned as GR III.
wish you would have taken all the shots with both tbh. I get your point but still.
Yeah, but that would just show you the crop factor, which is really not that interesting. The point is that the different FOVs affect how I think about a scene. It makes no sense to shoot them same angle with different focal lengths. :)
Very good camera for the street, too bad they are not reliable, especially it's lens that constantly hangs
That was an excellent presentation. Thank you 😊
Thanks! :)
Hasn’t this been uploaded before?
I have a similar video on our channel. Maybe that's what you're thinking of.
Great video, I thank you for making this content. I am on the fence between both cameras. I can careless if you wear a mask, or not.
Thanks!
What sling bag is that?
28mm and 40mm equivalent lenses.
How to tell your wife that you need another camera. XD
Haha, yeah! :)
what sling bag is that
It's from a brand called Squalo Works, but I don't think they sell them outside of Japan.

Why you wear a mask?
I am ugly.
