    This device has everything what I want
    *Headphone jack (must)
    *Expandable storage
    *Charger (inside the box..!!)
    *Clean UI
    *Tall 21:9 aspect ratio display
    *Excellent camera (I don't mind front camera since I rarely use it)
    *Best in class audio
    *Physical fingerprint scanner
    adding one more
    *No punch hole (clean display with narrow bezels)
    What more I can ask for. A perfect flagship.

    • @vhyles
      @vhyles 3 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Most people gobbled up the punchhole trend because every single company and their mother jumped in Apple's wagon. Such sheep... I can never imagine how come someone watch a video with a whole in their screen...

    • @dhanang

      Yeah, for me as the name 'punch hole' suggests - the hole triggers me to punch the phone screen.

      @I love you but - No, Sony think differently. The cheapest new Sony phone you can find today is Sony L4, and guess what? It has cutout. And we totally agree with Sony, cutout just fits perfectly on cheap looking phone.

    • @vhyles
      @vhyles 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @I love you but Sony phones have 84%+ screen to body ratio wtf are you talking about, that's as thin as you can get. Every sane person will prefer that instead of a ugly hole in the screen.

    After having and using the SONY Xperia 1 mark ii for almost a year now I can say that the camera system is as good as any other. It's just different. As he points out in the video it is a lot more like using an actual camera. Thus there is a learning curve, and you need to be willing to figure it out. But it sure is fun and allows for more creativity. If what you want are very saturated pictures and you want the phone to do all the work for you then I would say that the Xperia is not for you. Better to stick with an iphone or Galaxy. But if you want a much more natural, and accurate camera like experience that allows for more creativity and actually makes you want to go outside and take pictures......then the Xperia just might be for you.
    I would always use the comparison between an automatic luxuary sedan vs a manual sports car. They are totally different experiences. An iphone or Galaxy are like automatic sedans. They are comfortable, convenient, and will do most of what you need to be done without requiring too much from you. The Xperia is a lot more like a manual sports car. It's more tricky to drive and you have to learn how to drive it by comparison. But it's also a lot more fun, with a closer to reality feel, and you can push it waaay more.

      Only people which have experience with shooting with a camera in Manual mode would appreciate this phone to its fullest cz to know what's right, u gotta at least use the real thing. (a proper camera). But for smartphone people to get to like the dull camera look... That's pretty tough. I'm glad both of us can see its
      uniqueness.

      This jewel is:
      1. Top screen in a smartphone! (foff Crapsung with its patents made from Sony concepts!)
      2. Top audio in a smartphone! (foff Crapsung with its Mark Levinson marketing and copy-cat patents that are still not on par with the father of acoustics and sound processors - Sony!)
      3. Top manual and quality cameras! (foff Crapsung with its copy-cat Sony sensors with 1xx sensors that cannot match the optical's 1 III in any conditions and such crap processing!)
      4. Top speed and system compatibility! (foff over any dirty software devices like Crapsung!)
      5. The lightest of its kind!
      6. Still cheaper at launch than any other two in this test!
      7. It is made in Japan - components are made there!
      CONCLUSION: Pmps, crap schooled rtrds, jrks & other from 'www.parasitesoftheearth.com' THIS ONE IS FOR THE TRUE PRO's and GENTLEMEN, NOT FOR YOU!

The Sony UI just looks more 'pro' but it's still just basic control you also have on an iPhone. What this Sony can do in pro-mode, you can also do the exact same things with an Galaxy S, iPhone, Xiaomi and the list goes on.

    I really like the bezel because it adds more functionality with the front facing speakers and I also prefer that the camera is not placed inside the screen which in my opinion looks ugly and takes up screen real estate. If I had to choose from a front facing camera inside the screen and no front facing camera at all I would give up the front camera without a second thought.

    Having used the SONY Xperia 1 mark ii for almost one year now I would describe the camera system in a similar way that you do ....it's just fun. It's because it has so much manual control and options that it actually allows you to be creative and play with it. Now anyone should realise that there is a learning curve. But once you do learn how to use the pro apps ....which are like using a real camera.....you can get some frequently good, and occasionally astonishing results. Now....it's not a camera system if what you are looking for is something like an IPhone or a Galaxy which are basically made for people who know nothing about Photography and just want the phone to do all the work. Then the Xperia is not for you. But if you want to be creative, and you want to have fun figuring it out and seeing how you can push the Alpha designed system.....then Xperia may be for you. I always use the analogy of a luxury sedan vs a manual sports car. An IPhone or Galaxy are your automatic luxury sedans. They will do all you want comfortably and conveniently. But the Xperia is a manual sports car. You need to learn how to drive it and it may not be as convenient in some ways, but you can push it so much more, and you will have waaay more fun doing so. As well as having much more of a natural feel.

    I'd honestly rather have thin bezels instead of notches or hole punches any day. I don't like screen compromises. You wouldn't buy a TV with some of the screen missing, so way pay so much for a phone that does that!

    • @MrMozkoZrout
      @MrMozkoZrout 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well while i like it too this logic has many flaws. To be objective a hole punch is so far the best way to integrate camera on the front face of the phone (excluding the motorized cameras). because you either lose that screen size on some hole punch in the corner or because of bezzels around the display. And as it happens to be, hole punch is more efficient and actually takes up less space. It is also more intrusive tho so it is all just about preference.

    • @abu269
      @abu269 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrMozkoZrout Of course, like most things it comes down to personal preference. In Sonys case, the idea of the 21:9 aspect ratio + dual Dolby Atmos speakers is to provide a cinematic experience in a phone without compromise and I respect that. My brother bought the new Galaxy S21 and whilst having a play around with his phone, the only thing I could notice was that hole punch. And I honestly don't think I can get past that if it were my phone. He also found it annoying at first but eventually got used to it.

    • @derekdangerous
      @derekdangerous 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MrMozkoZrout The bezels don't take away screen space, they just make the phone taller. If it had a hole punch the screen would be the same size but the overall length would be smaller.

    • @MrMozkoZrout
      @MrMozkoZrout 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@derekdangerous Thaqts kind of a mental gymnastics dude. Hole punch doesn't take aways screen space, it just makes the screen be around it. • @Sabundy
      @Sabundy 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      True. It's designed by people who make actual cameras. So of course they don't care that much about a selfie camera and put their focus into the main camera system.

    • @MrMozkoZrout

      @@Sabundy Well if they make camera why don't make all of the camera great then ? flawed logic. Like i like this phone too and i want to buy Xperia 5 but i don't get this fanboy mentality. This is not supposed to happen right? or is it an illusion caused by the way the video was recorded or a post-editing effect?

      i too want to know the reason

    • @troy5568
      @troy5568 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because the camera's shutter speed probably matches the iPhone's speed of screen refresh, so the image is clear enough even when elements are moving so fast.
      The others are twice as fast when refreshing, so the camera will obviously capture blurry frames of the screens in motion since the shutter speed of the camera is not fast enough to freeze them in motion and capture them clearly (assuming the ss was set to 1/60s).
      This is just similar to how cameras work when taking photos. When the camera's shutter speed is slow, then fast-moving subjects like cars will be blurry, and vice versa if it has a very fast shutter speed.
