Oh my god i just realized the led notification light is not there in Samsung's latest phones... I love that feature on my Galaxy Note9. I may need to reconsider my decision to the Xperia 1 III instead.
As a long time Samsung user I am very disappointed with the direction Samsung has taken. Everything that lured me away from Apple is gone. They have slowly taken features away while making the phone more expensive. When I first got into Galaxy phones they had a notification light, expandable memory, swappable batteries, IR blaster (which I used ALL the time) and headphone jack, not to mention some pretty bad ass software features. They are all gone now. A Sony will be my next phone for sure.
Yeah they give the couple things taken away. But then they also give it in a package that matches the s10 down to the s4 in specs and results. Yet charge more than their latest flagship for it! The screen brightness matches the s5. The s4 on the $2500 pro! The speakers, camera, and battery all match 2 year old galaxy or worse.
I have iPhone 12 Pro Max And my friend has s21 ultra , Two months ago I bought the Xperia 1 Mark 3 because I have always loved Sony phones. I was amazed at the power of the stereo speaker for a Sony phone Comparison with Apple and Samsung phone. The sound quality is unmatched Especially with the activation of 360 Audio and Dolby Atmos, Sony was honest when said it is 40% the sound louder than before

The camera is very good but if I were to complain I would say that the complaint is that the camera is not the best in the world, or even top 3. (given Sony's reputation in manufacturing cameras) So with that said I don't have any real complaints. It's such a great phone.
They have always been the better android in my honest opinion. If you've looking for a better looking phone, it's samsung with all the fancy looking camera. For a long term user, xperia won't fail you.

I have 2 phones, the Sony xperia 1 and s21 ultra. Sony xperia 1 is 2 years older and I still very much prefer my Sony. Have nothing but issues with the s21 ultra.

I'm not sure if, on the Xperia 1 III, you have Dolby Atmos enabled (Dynamic), but the 1 III's speaker is a lot better than the other phone. And I'm watching this video on my Xperia 1 II.
I'm gonna buy an iPhone 13 Pro, but gotta say Sony design is impeccable. No wonder even Jobs respected Sony. Really classy looking tech. S21 is very good too.
The only things I don't like about the design is 21:9 aspect ratio 18:9 would be better ! And also the camera lenses could be horizontale instead of vertical ! So no wobble on a table !
I am eagerly waiting for the Xperia 1 Mark 4 (IV) I am currently still using the Samung A9 2018 and it ws the first Quad camera phone in the world. It still does a decent job but you can see the SD 660 coming into age. The Xperia 1 Mark 4 will have SD's new SD 8 gen 1 processor wich is expected to be ground changing. Coupled with 12 or 16 gigs of ram this will be outstanding. Whats really impressive is, that after having all those apps open and managing the RAM, the Sony was way better in the Geekbench results wich just proofs how powerfully optimized the Xperia is. I really like the Xperias natural colours too. Nothing beats Sony when it comes to colour reproduction and as I am a TV expert I know what I am talking about.

I think you left out one of Samsung's 2nd version of S21 Ultra. They have the Exynos 2100 processor that heats up faster than the Snapdragon 888. I held up the Samsung S21 Ultra in an aircon environment, and it was hot. The Exynos processor also drains the battery faster and heats up more compared to its Snapdragon 888 counterpart for Samsung. If there was no aircon blowing on the shop's counter top, I think its gonna be hot. You can use it for a hand warmer during the winter season. I will choose the Sony Xperia 1 iii over this issue. I am waiting for its official release in my local market as I am waiting eagerly for it.

@@raze_6474 it can get worse than repairing a samsung? figured it was already expensive enough... i have a note 9 that I replaced the screen 2 times on and still enjoy it but thinking on updating to the 1 iv since samsung is getting rid of alot of features i'd think are basic. just having trouble justifying the price that's on it but not that many options considering and im not a big fan on available cases on it. im a maint. tech so I end up in tough spots sometimes and need my phone to be well protected. Hence, why my note has been through hell.

Sony is more a ultra high end multimedia device than Samsung. But when it comes to 📸.. Sony is being behind for decades... But they definitely improved their camera from xperia 1 in my opinion.
Sony used to make the best quality audio equipment like Turntable, Cassette Deck, CD Player, and Walkman and they put all of those qualities in the phone. Camera wise the Len size is the limitation unfortunately
@@alpzepta no they didn't. They don't want the phone to take away market share from their Walkman DAPS. They did the same with camera and finally realised mobile camera won't take share from Alpha so now they are improving the camera. But audio chip will definitely take the Walkman shares so I don't expect it to be implemented into phones.

I think Sony DAC on my Xperia 1 is pretty good but considering that they need to have both music and camera function in one phone they will have to cut cost those DAC and Camera lenses in order to make the phone affordable. This is why dedicated device like camera and Walkman are better because for Camera they don't need to put in DAC but only put full quality on camera lense and image processor. For Walkman they don't need to put in Camera so they can put full quality in Audio DAC. It same as why dedicated cassette deck, cd player, or amplifier are better than all in one stereo system you find at the store. I cannot imagine how bad the sound would be coming from $150 Stereo System that have Amp, Tape and CD function as well as speakers all in one. And remember Dedicated Amp alone cost more than $150 and then you have to buy CD Player and cassette deck which probably cost $200 each and oh you need a speaker too which is not cheap.

Sony phones cannot produce enough volume off 3.5mm. they could easily have their A series Walkman chip in the phone that doesn't drain battery or take much space but they just wouldn't

So the "6" in ip65 and 68 stand for the dust resistance.(ip6 is the highest rating for dust) The "5" in ip65 means that the device is protected against low pressure water jets from any direction. (Ipx4 and ipx6 are the same test only with lower and higher pressure) Ipx7 and 8 are submerging tests. The "7" stands for up to 1 meter deep for 30min and the "8" is for deeper than 1 meter. The ipx4/5/6 are a different test that ipx7/8 that's why Sony gives a ip65 and ip68 rating so you can wash your device with running water. The other devices can only be submerged or are only certified for that.

Samsung has better camera resolution(I mean power of resolution is very great).and fantastic colour variation or very dynamic (not uniform in density wrt variation of frequency in em spectrum)but sony s speaker is good.and it's camera is great but looks natural.both of these are very good.
The ram advantage will only be noticed when you have many apps open at the same time without explicitly closing the apps. RAM quantity doesn't always translate to speed

Hey man, i just wanted to point out, as a person who has been working for T-Mobile for 8 years, and dealing with much more phone than anyone can imagine on a daily basis. STOP focusing on the AMOUNT of ram as much, and go to the settings, and see how much is actually USABLE. Sony might have slightly less ram than samsung, but once you actually go to setting, and see how much ram is available, Sony is going to have just as much as a 16gb of Ram on an Ultra, just because it doesn't have the crappy samsung UI that takes like 40% of ram and makes it unusable. Don't forget the LARGE cooling evaporator chamber that Sony has under the display, that also plays a huge role in performance, because the processor doesn't get as hot as fast, like samsungs does.

The brightness I think is totally fine. Would be nice for it to be a bit brighter when outside in bright sunlight, but haven't had issues reading stuff even then. For indoors or at night it's far more than enough.

Saame used s10 heating was bad so i bought poco f3 and sold the s10 i am not much of a camera person so s10 was shit for me

The SD888 has heat issues too. It is power hungry too. Xperia 1 III has overall poor battery life

Just keep in mind Sony phones have very little to no resale/trade in value. Also are extremely expensive to repair. I learned this the hard way
@@raze_6474 it can get worse than repairing a samsung? figured it was already expensive enough... i have a note 9 that I replaced the screen 2 times on and still enjoy it but thinking on updating to the 1 iv since samsung is getting rid of alot of features i'd think are basic. just having trouble justifying the price that's on it but not that many options considering and im not a big fan on available cases on it. im a maint. tech so I end up in tough spots sometimes and need my phone to be well protected. Hence, why my note has been through hell.

I have used both Sony and Samsung since 2013 I used Sony Z2, Sony XZ and now Sony xperia ii. on Samsung Samsung galaxy S5 and samsung galaxy S9. Samsung has disappointed me a lot but sony never disappoints me works very properly My used sony z2 is still there working properly I bought it in 2013 I think. Now looking forward to have Sony Xperia iii

How did you figure that? The Xperia has the same camera sensor as the S21 non-Ultra.
Sony is more a ultra high end multimedia device than Samsung.
But when it comes to 📸.. Sony is being behind for decades... But they definitely improved their camera from xperia 1 in my opinion.
Sony used to make the best quality audio equipment like Turntable, Cassette Deck, CD Player, and Walkman and they put all of those qualities in the phone. Camera wise the Len size is the limitation unfortunately
@@alpzepta no they didn't. They don't want the phone to take away market share from their Walkman DAPS. They did the same with camera and finally realised mobile camera won't take share from Alpha so now they are improving the camera. But audio chip will definitely take the Walkman shares so I don't expect it to be implemented into phones.
@@arcsephiroth this give me a lot of thinking. I think Sony DAC on my Xperia 1 is pretty good but considering that they need to have both music and camera function in one phone they will have to cut cost those DAC and Camera lenses in order to make the phone affordable.
This is why dedicated device like camera and Walkman are better because for Camera they don't need to put in DAC but only put full quality on camera lense and image processor. For Walkman they don't need to put in Camera so they can put full quality in Audio DAC.
It same as why dedicated cassette deck, cd player, or amplifier are better than all in one stereo system you find at the store. I cannot imagine how bad the sound would be coming from $150 Stereo System that have Amp, Tape and CD function as well as speakers all in one. And remember Dedicated Amp alone cost more than $150 and then you have to buy CD Player and cassette deck which probably cost $200 each and oh you need a speaker too which is not cheap.
@@alpzepta my DAP(A&K) is $1200 and my IEM(IER-Z1R) is $1500 dollars and i use Xperia 1ii and I am a Sony fan and trust me when I tell you sound is trash in the Sony phones but still better than everyother phone bar LGs with quad dacs. Sony phones cannot produce enough volume off 3.5mm. they could easily have their A series Walkman chip in the phone that doesn't drain battery or take much space but they just wouldn't

So the "6" in ip65 and 68 stand for the dust resistance.(ip6 is the highest rating for dust)
The "5" in ip65 means that the device is protected against low pressure water jets from any direction.
(Ipx4 and ipx6 are the same test only with lower and higher pressure)
Ipx7 and 8 are submerging tests.
The "7" stands for up to 1 meter deep for 30min and the "8" is for deeper than 1 meter.
The ipx4/5/6 are a different test that ipx7/8 that's why Sony gives a ip65 and ip68 rating so you can wash your device with running water.
The other devices can only be submerged or are only certified for that.

Samsung has better camera resolution(I mean power of resolution is very great).and fantastic colour variation or very dynamic (not uniform in density wrt variation of frequency in em spectrum)but sony s speaker is good.and it's camera is great but looks natural.both of these are very good.

The ram advantage will only be noticed when you have many apps open at the same time without explicitly closing the apps. RAM quantity doesn't always translate to speed

Hey man, i just wanted to point out, as a person who has been working for T-Mobile for 8 years, and dealing with much more phone than anyone can imagine on a daily basis. STOP focusing on the AMOUNT of ram as much, and go to the settings, and see how much is actually USABLE. Sony might have slightly less ram than samsung, but once you actually go to setting, and see how much ram is available, Sony is going to have just as much as a 16gb of Ram on an Ultra, just because it doesn't have the crappy samsung UI that takes like 40% of ram and makes it unusable. Don't forget the LARGE cooling evaporator chamber that Sony has under the display, that also plays a huge role in performance, because the processor doesn't get as hot as fast, like samsungs does.
that's why I do the multitasking test, because raw specs only tell so much.

The brightness I think is totally fine. Would be nice for it to be a bit brighter when outside in bright sunlight, but haven't had issues reading stuff even then. For indoors or at night it's far more than enough.
