I've watched hundreds of MCM makeovers and I've never preferred paint.This is the first time I can say that the black paint looks better to me than I think the wood would have looked. This was the perfect choice for this piece. Spectacular job!

Aw, I understand now. I see your point, but they love vintage furniture and the quality is much better than what they could buy new. It’s a name brand solid wood dresser that’s is actually worth a tidy sum refinished. I don’t think it’s bad karma, but everyone has different viewpoints on that. I think vintage pieces have more soul and personality than new pieces, but that’s just me. 🤷♀️
I am in awe, i think it is beautiful! I swear in the beginning i was going to say maybe its supposed to be 2 tones because of the different woods on the front. You blew it out of the park! Absolutely beautiful! ❤❤❤
It’s absolutely beautiful and I love the two-tone. All I could say the whole time was just put on some new veneer at least on top but you did it without having to put on new veneer. ❤️👍❤️👍❤️👍

The two tones give an aesthetic balance to the piece. It reminds me of the stereo cabinets from the 1950/1960 era when modern interpretation was vogue. You outdid yourself!!😊

I You did a fantastic job, anyone would love to have this in their home - even me and I don’t usually like 1950-70 furniture. Beautiful! I have a very talented BIL who is a carpenter and cabinetmaker ( and builder…). He can look at a piece of wood and tell you what it is and how old it is. He’s incredibly talented. My Sister, when they were first married, mentioned they needed a wardrobe. She went to work, came home to a two door shaker style wardrobe. That’s love. Their house is gorgeous- only problem is.. he’s a perfectionist. And don’t touch the walls in their house!
Loved the louvered doors and their contrast with the painted drawers. The brass, paint and stain are wonderfu contrasts. Each detail gives your eyes a chance to rest upon it's beauty and appreciate.

The result is, as always, very beautiful. I've gotten into the habit of re-veneering. Yes, the veneer costs something, but so does good paint. Veneering is simply very time-saving. In my country I get 2500mm by 320 or 640mm veneer between €14.00-28.00.

You've obviously been doing this a long time to have the depth & breadth of knowledge shared. When I first saw this piece, I never in a million years envisioned completed transformation. I smiled big at your reaction to your reveal. Pride & delight, rightfully so, Woman! Genius, visionary, determined craftswoman. I'm excited to be a follower & soak in what you generously share. Not many do so. How long did this transformation take? Sad that piece isn't going to your nephew, but I understand if he wanted a solid wood finished piece. Did this have any maker's mark on it to determine origin? If you are selling this, where are you located. I'd buy it in a heartbeat!

I still have lots to learn and this is more of a ‘learn with me channel’ but I do try to share the good, bad, and ugly in hopes that people can avoid my mistakes. 🫣 I average about 10 hours on each flip. I love it two toned. I didn't think you could fix that one, it was something else! It turned out beautifully and if you gift it to the bride and groom they will be so very thrilled and amazed at such a gorgeous gift. Wow......totally loving it! Great and fantastic work!!!

Your nephew's loss. It came out sooooooooooo good. I don't , as a general rule, like wood and especially painted/wood combo but this is perfect. I like how the black is not so dark that is too much of a contrast with the wood.
