You have quickly risen to the "I'm gonna go ahead and hit the like button before I watch, cause I know she isn't going to disappoint" category for me. I love your vision for transforming pieces. I'm not a fan of mid century pieces but you are making me rethink how beautiful they can become with the right vision.
Same here, I hit the like button as soon as I time in, and I've never regretted it. I've been flipping furniture for 40 years, strictly personal. We didn't have TH-cam to go to for tips and inspiration, I watch now for pleasure
I appreciate so much that you don't edit out all the surprises and when things don't go perfectly. You are a real person, doing work with a lot of variables. Being able to problem solve and innovate is a gift! It makes you really relatable!
I loved the 2021 but now I love this one bc of the lighter wood stain. Hey I love your reveal music. What is the name and who’s the artist? Hope don’t change it bc me likey 😂❤️
Your methods should be the base point for all furniture artists and you've honed your aesthetic since the first of those dressers. Bravo and great way to start the new Year!
I had a giggle when you said "painting furniture improves work prospects down the track when you have to strip it" I instantly thought, "thank god you're not an undertaker 😆
Oh gosh…….I love them both, for different reasons! And, let me say I’m SO glad you’re not swayed by people telling you laminate furniture is junk!!! Keeping pieces out of landfills and giving them new life is noble….and they’re beautiful to boot. The pieces you do are stunning! I’m aware there isn’t a demand for larger furniture pieces, but would you ever consider tackling an armoire, or dining set? It would be fun to see what you could do with them. 👍
I agree! Of it weren’t for veneers, many of the beautiful exotic wood pieces would not exist. Of course, it has to be a well made piece as there are laminate pieces that are indeed crap.
These mid-century pieces will last forever! Loved the rant and you’re right. I think people forget the amazing advances in materials from the 40’s-60’s reduced cost (to us as well), durability not to mention seasonal stability… Personally, as a woodworker I LOVE Baltic birch plywood as a substrate and often veneer over top. You can create some beautiful pieces with modern materials. Thank you for saving these lovely furniture items
The greying of the wood with a stain is clever, I've never seen anything like that before. I always look forward to your new videos, and as a newish fan, I'm working my way back through your history. Keep up the awesome work and cool videos!
This one wins, but just by a hair. Both dressers are wonderful transformations and reflect your determination to make something beautiful out of not so beautiful furniture. And may I just say that your videos are among the best of this genre? The narration, the tempo, the instruction, the staging and even the background music are all excellent.
Both are beautiful. I like the black pulls a bit more so I guess 2022's version wins by a hair. I actually love all your work. You are my favourite furniture artist and you tuber. Keep it up and please keep sharing your transformations with us.
Wow !! Absolutely STUNNING results ! No way I could pick a favorite between this version and the March 2021 version.. it's like comparing apples and Salisbury steak.. LOL .. Both are gorgeous ! Wonderful and unique in their own way..
@@pm2886 It is notorious for being served in institutional settings with heaps of gravy and mashed potatoes, and overdone vegetables so it gets a bad rap. It’s basically a beef patty, with added binders for flavour, flattened into an oval shape and seared in a pan, like a steak would be.
@@pm2886 The way my mother made it, it was tenderized round steak slow-cooked in mushroom gravy. A way to use cheaper, tougher cuts of meat. Usually served with mashed potatoes.
Like the 2021 version better. So happy you are doing such great work keeping stuff out of landfill. Helping the environment, getting beautiful pieces to customers, expressing your artistic nature, making a living. What's not to like?
Love your work !! The attention to detail, the techniques and... the results ! Also LOVE your "RANT" segment. I totally agree with you. If everybody tried to reuse things instead of trashing them... our world would be a much better place ! Hats off ! 😊
Watching channels like yours inspire me to renovate furniture... I furnished my entire house this way. Walking my dog on christmas day I found a old rattan side table covered in black mould in the street and brought home which I spent many hours scraping bleaching and sanding as a post Christmas project. Now I have a nice plant table. It's teaching me patience which is calming and that is good for my soul.
i like this slightly more rustic version, although the earlier one is also very pretty. I love the shape of this dresser; people who think that laminate is junk are nuts. The curvy drawers and just the basic shape of this piece are so pretty. Nice job! Happy New Year.
Love both versions but 2022 is my favorite. 8 have learned so much from watching you for a couple of weeks now. My tool stash has increased with items I see you use and wasn't aware of. Thank you for sharing your talent and experience!
I LOVE how you educate us and I never feel as if you are ranting!! Thank you!! And more importantly, THANK YOU FOR SAVING ALL THE PIECES that you so lovingly restore!!
Hi Angie, my daughter is your age and refinishes MCM pieces also. We live in a region in rural Wisconsin where this style is easy to come by. I showed her your videos a couple months back and she is so happy I did. She says she learns something from every one of your videos and it helps her make decisions on the pieces she is "uploving". It inspires her to get educated about different woods and how to work with them. I, myself am in the process of refinishing a waterfall vanity, and between the "3" of us, I'm hoping for a successful outcome. Thank you for your inspiration, spirit, and commitment!
People comment bad just don't understand that most furniture is made with press board and laminate, yet they pay hundreds for it. you make the old furniture come alive again. Keep doing what you do and IGNORE the haters
They’re both so beautiful, but I think I like this one best - so stunning! Thanks for the careful explanations of all your steps. I have learned so much from you!
I love watching the whole stripping/preperation for paint process. I love seeing you giving new life to these amazing pieces. Heartfelt thanks for making these great videos!
Good on you to put your point out there for whoever is watching to hear, especially those who are of the mindset that 'laminate is scrap'. There are so many perfectly good pieces of furniture that end up in landfills and thanks to people like you, they can have a second life, in someone's home, instead of taking up unnecessary space in landfills. We need more people like you!
I like the 2022 version more. As usual, Angie, you started out the new year with an amazing redo. I would have that in my home any day. Have a most successful year and keep bringing us beauty and creativity and enjoyment.
Truly love both of the dressers you refurbished, I love the fact had someone wanted to they'd make a nice look similar not exactly the same. Beautiful work.
You are so right! I used to be a ‘real wood only snob’, but these pieces still have so much life and they don’t belong in landfill. Perfect case for painting. 👍👍
Happy New Year Angie and everyone 🥳. This furniture piece came out fantastic 🤩. You’re an amazing furniture artist!!. Love all your work and wish you have an online furniture store to purchase your pieces. Can’t wait for more videos with more transformations!!
I love both pieces. Great transformation. Also thank you for setting us straight on the value of these pieces. Your truly an incredible artist and teacher. Thank you
Fantastic job as looks so awesome always amazed at how it turns out also here’s a hack that might help I use conditioner after I wash my brushes I let it shit on the brush for about ten minutes then wash it off helps to keep the brush softer hope that helps also both look great
Happy New Year! I love this version. I never thought of mixing stain to get different effects. Love your work, Angie. Waiting (somewhat) patiently for your next transformation.
I can't pick between the 2021 and '22 versions, but I have to remark on the fact that the original, even when it was brand new, was SOOOO ugly, and you turned it into something truly beautiful. I can't imagine who would let the original through their door, but I'd be proud to have your made-over version in my home.
Both dressers are beautiful, but I definitely like this one more. I like the contrasting colors, and the wood on this dresser looks more natural to me. Plus, the wood grain is more definitive here, and that's what I like about it. I also think that the black with the stain you did here compliments each other better. The warmer red tone against the black of the other dresser is just a tad bit to jarring for me, plus, I'm not all that fond of gold toned hardware. I prefer the black, or a brushed nickel... I'm one of those strange ones that prefers silver over gold :D
You did it again, surprised me! Positivity of coarse. When you said grey, I thought NO, but you made me so happy. To see something new and unexpected and cool is good for the soul 😊
You inspire, you are an inspiration! You have my creative juices flowing. My husband died from covid in September, I want to do some pieces that are around the house. Blessings!
The 2022 dresser is definitely my favorite. And I am with you, whatever keeps furniture out of the landfills and in our homes works for me. Your work never disappoints.
I really love that you are doing this to keep perfectly good furniture out of landfill!! And your makeovers are so great, it makes them a standout piece regardless of the cheaper 'laminate' 😉 wonderful work 👍
Your work is very impressive. Don’t let the haters get to you, what you’re doing is wonderful for the planet. Haters are usually lazy people who don’t do anything themselves, and thus take it out on the rest of the world
I have been going through many of your videos and your work is truly breathtaking! You not only restore a piece of furniture to perfection, you give them a new and very exciting identity☺️🦋
I am so glad that you don’t try to be the all knowing ‘Debbie decorator.’ You do what you do and you do it beautifully. thank you for not trying to be someone else because you are great just the way you are.
You are correct, there is nothing political about lessening what we put in landfills! Preserving and updating well made vintage items is definitely one way of doing that!
Your attention to detail and tidy work habits feed my OCD soul! But seriously, I love watching your videos for the refinishing tips and fabulous results you achieve with even the ugliest ducklings.
My vote is for the 2022 version although I love every piece you make over in the videos I've watched so far. And I'm sort of bingeing-warching your channel. Keep up the beautiful work and keep these wonderful pieces out of the land fills!!!
I love that you are saving these real wood pieces and giving them new life. The final piece looks fantastic! Nice video with good explanations of every step. 👍
You definitely worked your magic again with this dresser. I prefer the 2022 version with the black pulls and the stain on the drawer fronts. The hint of grey in the stain looks great with the black paint and pulls. 💗
The wood grain on this one was truly special, especially the “letters” on the bottom right drawer. The whole dresser is mysterious , emphasized by the black drawers on top. 21:13 Big hug from Dallas.
This may be the piece I’m most obsessed with! I love black & two tone ❤ didn’t think it was possible to recapture my heart as I make my way through your videos! 🎉 amazing!
You are my favorite refurbisher on TH-cam! You are so thorough as well and explain everything so well. I’m from Quebec so I was happy to see something made in my home province.
Having spent my teen age years on dairy farm, I really like the 2022 version, the drawers do look like old barn wood and the various grains add to that feel. Would love to have that piece in my home!♥ Thank you for sharing your art with us and please keep 'em coming! Looking forward to the next Transcendental Event!
My older sister lives in Halifax so hey. My mother’s side of the family mostly lives in Ontario, but my mother came to the US in the 50’s. You are so calm with your furniture flips. It definietly gives me confidence, and when I am back in the US at the end of this year I plan to try flipping furniture myself. Thanks for your show!
Both pieces are beautifully finished. To me, your latest piece looks more contemporary and today than your 2021 piece. Both are wonderful! I can’t choose between them. You do great work!
Once again, an amazing makeover! I like the new one better - very classy yet rustic. the wood tones used really compliment the coal black. I never would have thought to use one stain over another. Genius!
You have quickly risen to the "I'm gonna go ahead and hit the like button before I watch, cause I know she isn't going to disappoint" category for me. I love your vision for transforming pieces. I'm not a fan of mid century pieces but you are making me rethink how beautiful they can become with the right vision.
Shelley, you got that right!
She’s amazing!
Agreed!!
Same!
Same here, I hit the like button as soon as I time in, and I've never regretted it. I've been flipping furniture for 40 years, strictly personal. We didn't have TH-cam to go to for tips and inspiration, I watch now for pleasure
2022 version is so much better! The black pulls are the big difference!!!! My wife and I love your channel.
I definitely like this one better than the one previous. I like the softer, understated finish and black hardware. You're such an inspiration!
I appreciate so much that you don't edit out all the surprises and when things don't go perfectly. You are a real person, doing work with a lot of variables. Being able to problem solve and innovate is a gift! It makes you really relatable!
I'm so glad to hear that! Thank you so much!

It was a fun one to start off with! Thank you so much! :-)
I concur!
I had a giggle when you said "painting furniture improves work prospects down the track when you have to strip it" I instantly thought, "thank god you're not an undertaker 😆
😆😆😆😆😆 That's hilarious. Morning made! Thank you for the laugh!! Also thank you for watching! 😍

Seriously .. yep! Compared to the furniture made today all cheap mdf with sticky plastic printed woodgrain
I prefer the color combo in today's version. Beautiful!
Thank you!
These mid-century pieces will last forever! Loved the rant and you’re right. 100%!! I love a beautiful veneer over a more stable substrate vs solid wood, pretty much any day of the week! Thanks for watching!
Lil,
The greying of the wood with a stain is clever, I've never seen anything like that before. I always look forward to your new videos, and as a newish fan, I'm working my way back through your history. Keep up the awesome work and cool videos!
Adam, enjoy your journey back and don't forget to come forward again.
Thank you so much Adam! I know this is an older comment but I hope you've been enjoying my content!
This one wins, but just by a hair. Both dressers are wonderful transformations and reflect your determination to make something beautiful out of not so beautiful furniture. This version is clearly the winner.

I don't know how, but you do it to me EVERY time. The big reveal and I uncontrollably vocalize my amazement at your abilities. You're just, wow.
Wow !! Absolutely STUNNING results ! No way I could pick a favorite between this version and the March 2021 version.. it's like comparing apples and Salisbury steak.. LOL .. Both are gorgeous ! Wonderful and unique in their own way..
Right?? So similar and yet so different! It’s amazing what the colour of the hardware can do to transform a piece also.
I have to ask .... what in heck is "Salisbury Steak"?
@@pm2886 It is notorious for being served in institutional settings with heaps of gravy and mashed potatoes, and overdone vegetables so it gets a bad rap. It’s basically a beef patty, with added binders for flavour, flattened into an oval shape and seared in a pan, like a steak would be.

Hey Lauri - yes for sure - I agree with you.
DITTO FOR SURE
Angie, you are the reigning queen of furniture refinishing! 👏👑
What a transformation! I'll be honest. I wouldn't have given that red thing a second look. Love your work. You truly turn trash into treasure.
You are my favorite furniture refinisher. You cease to amaze me with your transformations. Your pieces look like masterpieces.
Thank you so much Donna!! Your kind words are greatly appreciated!

Love the 2022! Beautiful stain color and you can never go wrong with Black ❤❤❤
I'm so glad you like it!
LOVE this version, though the first one is stunning also! Happy New Year and looking forward to more videos!!
"wow, what a difference" 🤣
I prefer this one !

Happy New Year! I love this version. I never thought of mixing stain to get different effects. Love your work, Angie. Waiting (somewhat) patiently for your next transformation.

I feel your “rant” is entirely justified. I catch myself being snobby about some pieces. But you’re right. I like your philosophy.
WOW! Definitely love the 2022 version. What a transformation! Thank you and the landfills thank you too!
You're most welcome! 🙂
You inspire, you are an inspiration! You have my creative juices flowing. My husband died from covid in September, I want to do some pieces that are around the house. Blessings!
Using the gray stain over the brown really did change the feel, more industrial, just like you were hoping. Well done as usual!
Thank you kindly!
WOW the first dresser was beautiful but the second one took my breath away! The color of the wood plus black handles was just beautiful
I'm so glad you like it! Thank you so much for watching! 😀
Forgot to mention that I love your detailed descriptions and how you explain “What Not To Do”. Enjoying your channel very much.
The 2022 dresser is definitely my favorite. And I am with you, whatever keeps furniture out of the landfills and in our homes works for me. Your work never disappoints.
Thank you so much!
I really love that you are doing this to keep perfectly good furniture out of landfill!! And your makeovers are so great, it makes them a standout piece regardless of the cheaper 'laminate' 😉 wonderful work 👍

You're welcome.
Thank you so much for watching! I'm so glad you enjoy my content!
My vote is for the 2022 version although I love every piece you make over in the videos I've watched so far. And I'm sort of bingeing-warching your channel. Keep up the beautiful work and keep these wonderful pieces out of the land fills!!!
Binge away! I hope you enjoyed all my content. Thanks so much for watching!
22 version is The winner in My House...Beautiful
Thanks so much for the feedback!
2022 version definetly the winner :)
2022 is beautiful can't wait to see 2023.
No question...this one looks 100% better than the 2021 one.
Good job.
The March 2021 piece turned out lovely, but the 2022 transformation is truly stunning. Amazing, actually.
Thank you so much!
I love the 2022 dresser.....both are gorgeous but 2022 is much more our style.
This version was the winner for me.
I love that you are saving these real wood pieces and giving them new life. The final piece looks fantastic! Nice video with good explanations of every step. 👍
I love this version much more than the previous one
Love the end result. Never throw away a good piece of furniture.
You definitely worked your magic again with this dresser. I prefer the 2022 version with the black pulls and the stain on the drawer fronts. The hint of grey in the stain looks great with the black paint and pulls. 💗
So great to see you this morning in the new video! For my taste I liked the 2nd dresser the most. You did a fabulous job.. Thank you Angie! 👍 😊
I love how you up-cycle so many dressers. I learn something new from you on every video!! Also the 22 dresser gets my vote ❤
I appreciate the feedback! Thank you!
Just beautiful, preserved the good parts and improved on them, and got rid of the bad. Those drawers are so beautiful.
I love both versions of the dressers, but my favorite is 2022. That grey stain is striking, contemporary, and really unusual. What a transformation!
Thank you so much!
Last redo is really more appealing to me, I usually go for warmer looks but this is really beautiful
Thank you very much!
I believe I like the newest version best. Thank you for creating this wonderful channel! Great job girl!!!
Thank you so much!
The wood grain on this one was truly special, especially the “letters” on the bottom right drawer. The whole dresser is mysterious , emphasized by the black drawers on top. 21:13 Big hug from Dallas.
Awe, thank you so much Joe! I hope you're having a good day!
I prefer this version. I agree it does have an industrial vibe 👍🏼👏🏼
Thanks so much!
This may be the piece I’m most obsessed with! I love black & two tone ❤ didn’t think it was possible to recapture my heart as I make my way through your videos! 🎉 amazing!
Thank you very much!
I like your first one better but I can see why someone would like the second one better. Good job Angie.
You are my favorite refurbisher on TH-cam! You are so thorough as well and explain everything so well. I’m from Quebec so I was happy to see something made in my home province.
I'm a little late to the party, BUT, as beautiful as this piece is, the 2021 version is my fave! Great work, as always.
Thank you so much! 😊
Thank you so much for watching Nancy!
I definitely like the new version of this gorgeous dresser better.
Thanks so much for watching!
2022 version is the best. Love it.
Thanks so much for the feedback!

You're very welcome! Best of luck when you decide to start! 😀
Both pieces are beautifully finished. To me, your latest piece looks more contemporary and today than your 2021 piece.
Both are wonderful! I can’t choose between them. You do great work!
Thank you very much! 🙂
Once again, an amazing makeover! I like the new one better - very classy yet rustic. the wood tones used really compliment the coal black. I never would have thought to use one stain over another. Genius!
Thank you very much!
