    Thanks for this. I also experienced battery brain problems in my MacBook 12 (2015) after I upgraded to Molave. I followed your instructions and it fixed the problem somewhat. I'm still getting battery drain, but not as bad as I did before. I charged it to 100% last night (12 midnight), then opened my MacBook tonight (6 p.m.) and its down by 96% which is still acceptable compared to how bad the battery drain was before.

    With my 2015 retina Macbook pro, these fixed an overheating problem I had- watching a youtube it used to run between 60C and 65C, and would idle at between 50C-55C. Now, it will idle between 25C and 30C, and watching a youtube video it will run between 30C and 40C. But the battery still drains a lot, a 15 minute youtube video brought me down from 99% to 90%, and shutting the lid overnight at 81% left me with 65% when I opened it the next day.

      I heard that any electronic device should be on low battery before plugging it in. You are fine to plug it in below 30% but I always wait until the low battery notification pops up before plugging it in.

    Would this work on my laptop, I start on my laptop with 100 (it’s still on charge) then after 1 hour it’s dead (whilst charging) and then it takes about 5/6 hours to get a full charge?

  • @riley1733
    @riley1733 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I bought the 2019 13 inch last month. I can charge it to 100% and it will still be on 100% when I open it the next day. When I'm using it, FaceTime drains the battery like crazy. I was on FaceTime with my girlfriend about a week and a half ago and unplugged it during our call when it was at 100%. I was maybe on that call for another hour or hour and a half after unplugging it and it was nearly on 30% when we hung up. When I'm just watching stuff or reading stuff, it'll drop 1% every few minutes. I checked the battery condition and it says it's normal. I got Apple care on the laptop so if I experience worse battery life than that, I am definitely getting it looked at. Other than the battery, I love the laptop though. Best laptop ever. Battery life definitely could be better but it's still a good laptop.

    Thank you sir for your video on Macbook Pro charging. I have an old and refurbished Macbook Pro that I bought on Amazon. It is a 13-inch Macbook Pro from about 2012 or 2013. Is it okay to buy the USB C electric charger to charge the laptop? Now the electric charger that came with it is not charging the laptop.
    I tried the troubleshooting methods such as holding the Shift/Control/Option and so on, but all these efforts came to naught numerous times. Do I need to buy a connector that will enable the USB C charger to work on my old Macbook Pro which came without a USB C electric connector on it?

    Thanks for the video. My 17" Mac Pro (bought on 10/19 was working fine. I only use it to do minimal tasks in the evening. It had about 30% charge. I always put it on the charger when I turn in. I plugged the charger in and my Pro stated making a dinging sound approx every 3-5 sec. I unplugged the charger, no dinging. Plugged it back in, more dinging, and on the screen was a power cord, lighting bolt and i forget what the other icon was. I checked all plugs and charge ports on it. Cleaned them. Still dinged but then after about 5-10 minutes it stopped. This am, computer doesn't turn on - nothing charging. Now I can't reset the SMC. Any thoughts on this. Everything including the charger is practically brand new! Thanks for your review.

    I got a problem with my computer, the battery drains really fast and when it reaches around 30-40 it randomly turns off without warning, and this cant keep happening, and to make things worse, my computer just turned off around like 20-30 minutes ago, and when I put the charger back in, the battery wouldn't show up on the top right of my screen, and even battery preferences didn't even come up when I searched everywhere on my computer, and it was also making some really loud air con sounding sound that was so annoying. Do you have any advice on how to fix any of this?

I have used the new battery for a week to make it workable. Maybe they didn't repair it right or they forgot to do something before they closed it all together. I think it is strange right after an almost 100% repair of new hardware then this happen. What do you think. And thx for all the nice work bro.

When I working on my 2019 macbook pro (same as yours I believe) should I keep the charger out and plug it in just when it's about to die (say at around 5-10%)? Sometimes there’s an app or crash in Power Nap mode. When is the last time you did a full reboot?

    Before I went away for vacation for a month I last used my macbook pro with touch bar and left it at 80% then turned it off and left it for a month without use. When I came back my battery was completely drained. Is that normal?

      @@nothingspecial9370 it worked! But then the problem came back after a few weeks,... Went back into the settings and the steps I did were undone?!?... Maybe the CPU did and update and reset it?... redid the steps and haven’t had a problem since!

    MacBook Air charges really fast, but then after about an hour of working, it hits around 14%. It normally doesn't do this. Normally I can stay up for about nine hours working but it happened recently and is still ongoing. How can I stop this?

    OK So This worked for me! BUT... a few days later I noticed a significant drop from 100% down to 55% in just a few hrs.... just checked those settings and I noticed my Macbook had reversed the steps I did to rectify this problem. What is going on & why is my Macbook reversing my settings?!?... I am the only one using it!
