  • Why Does My Macbook Battery Drain So Fast?
    Get CleanMyMac X here bit.ly/3fvYvdu
If your MacBook battery starts draining way too fast, use this video tutorial to deal with the issue immediately!
    #1 Manage Power Adapter preferences
Go to System Preferences - Lock Screen - Start Screen Saver when inactive - Set the time.
Go to Battery. In the “Energy Mode” section, switch “On Battery” to High Power while “On Power Adapter” to Low Power.
    #2. Check Battery Health
I use one-stop-shop software CleanMyMac X to keep my Mac at its highest performance and track my battery health. Download the app for free here: bit.ly/3fvYvdu
Go to the CleanMyMac X dashboard in the top right corner, then to the Battery section, and check battery health, charge cycles, or temperature. Or open the Apple menu - About this Mac - System Report. Then scroll down for Power specifications.
    #3 Unplug USB devices
    #4 Reduce screen brightness
In your Preferences, look up Displays settings and do a couple of tune-ups there. Also, Tick the "Automatically adjust brightness" checkbox.
#5 Find out what is using energy
Go to Applications - Utilities - Activity Monitor. Quit the processes that consume too much energy. Or use CleanMyMac X: head over to the Optimization tab, and after selecting processes you want to quit, press Remove button. Get your free version here: bit.ly/3fvYvdu
#6 Disable Bluetooth while MacBook is asleep
#7 Reset the SMS (System Management Controller)
    Shut down MacBook
Hold down Shift-Control-Option and the Power button for 10 seconds.
    Turn MacBook back on.

I did the Catalina update and the battery drains so much faster now, I swear apple is behind this. They just wants consumer to keep buying new devices when such devices work just fine.

I believe the Catalina upgrade caused my problems as well. Macbook Pro Unibody 2012. Have tried new batteries twice and it still suddenly drains/drops .

I'm running Chrome and Safari. I wanted to try out Safari, since supposedly Macs are optimized to use it. Well--it's using twice as much power as Chrome!

Macbook Pro 19 here, 1323 Cycle Count and counting... battery condition is normal but my laptop would drain drastically while on sleep mode. I'm talking 90% to 0% overnight. Not to mention the overheating and loud fan noise.

I have a MacBook 💻 Pro Mid 2012 and I was wondering why my battery 🔋 drains down when it’s unplugged even when I haven’t used it in over a month & I can’t find the icon that says (Clean my Mac)

got mine and i used my MBA m1 for netflix for just an hour. Started streaming in 98% then it drains too fast to about 50% for just a 40min video stream. I just bought mine a week ago.

My battery is at 82% health and has used 562/1000 charge cycles but dies after about 10 mins when unplugged. Any thoughts? Great video, by the way!

562 cycles is a lot IMHO, we suggest you bring a laptop to Apple Store for a check-up.

@@CleanMyMac Thanks for the reply! So 562 is a lot out of 1000? - I use CleanMyMac and ran everything I could and upgraded to the latest OS. It has helped a bit but still not great.

Batteries tend to get old, unfortunately. Quoting Apple: "Your battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original charge capacity at its maximum cycle count. For best performance, replace your battery when you reach its maximum cycle count." However, if you face any issues with it we suggest you check it with the specialist.

Exactly the same situation I have...A1932 Macbok Air... I ran the update and that's when it started. The charging icon stayed on even when unplugged. So I bought a new USB C port replacement but before I changed it, a new update came through and now that I've updated it, the charging icon problem no longer exists but the battery is losing charge waaaay to quickly... Thinking of restoring it to factory settings ... then maybe if that doesn't change it, I'll change the battery... 🙌

my MacBook drains faster i bought 5 days ago MacBook Pro M3 Pro 14 inch and the only programs that I installed were Photoshop and Lightroom and I have not used them yet. during these 5 days, I only served web pages trying to customize my Macbook and understand general McaOS software because all my life I used Windows. I do not understand looking at my battery right now 2 minutes ago it was showing me 33 %, and now 31 in two minutes this is bullshit. my display brightness is almost half, I switched promotion 120 to 60hz no other program is running in the background except the browser, and only two tubs Facebook and TH-cam
