Try setting on a hard and flat surface; I was trying to charge my MBP while on the bed and had no luck..... then i placed on a hard surface and that did the trick

I was freaking out by the time you said dont freak out and then i thought my brother would kill me and all the memories that i has with this mac book air is now gone snd then i saw the glitch one where you want to press shift and stuff like that and i was soing that and i was waiting 10 seconds and presing them i literally starting to have tears i was sobbing and then magic happend it turned on and i was like hugging mac and soooo happy like sooooooo much happy and now i will take care of my mac book air amd whenever something is not starting i always start to tears and it start like my ipad it was glitched and nothing was working i was also freaking out and then i started to have tears I accidentally pressed the volume botton and it got normal i think my devices love me cuz whenever i start to cry it starts love you devices

please help. it ran out of battery, it always lights green and I have to plug it and unplug it multiple times before it actually wanting to charge and for the button to turn orange. today it says it was charging but now it just died out of nowhere, I tried buying a new charger because I thought the other one was broken.. is there any way to fix this?
Basically, my macbook is always at 0%. Like it's charging but its says 0% at the top and if I unplug the charger my it turns off which is a pain in the butt. Please help!! It's a MacBook Air.
I think your battery is dead. You need to visit an Apple store and they can check that for you.

m s it's not a problem with your charger, it's a problem with your battery. This could be caused by overcharging it, when it's at 100%. You'll need to replace your battery xd

Idk if I misunderstood the the process for a non removal battery Mac, but I held down the shift, ctrl, option AND power button and voila.. it reset the SMC. The light on my charger turned on. Thanks!!

I am currently living and working abroad and anything to do with technology (or fixing tech) is very expensive here. I nearly had a full on panic attack when my battery status was no longer showing on my home screen anymore and my charger wasn't lighting up when plugged into my laptop. I was worried I would have to pay an arm and a leg to get the problem fixed but I stumbled upon your video, followed your directions, and it solved the issue!! Thank you so very much!!

Resetting the SMC by holding down the keys worked! My charger immediately lit up and my dead 2010 macbook pro turned on. I had so much work on there, this was a HUGE relief! Thanks man :)
I will never purchase another mac again.
Not draining your battery helps as well.

Inès actually they offered me to buy a new laptop . But i asked them if they could try a brand new charger and it actually started charging. Don’t buy chargers from Best Buy or anything, try getting the official official charger from Apple. Now that’s the only charger that works on my Mac

Presumably you've gone through the steps in the video. Resetting the PRAM and the SMC is the first port of call as that fixes many different problems. If the machine won't charge unless powered down that implies the Mac isn't getting enough current from the charger. Try a different charger and if that works a new charger may be the answer. Good luck and let us know how you get on.

For those of you for whom this suggestion DID NOT WORK, I was feeling desperate. I tried EVERYTHING. I finally took some aluminum foil and jammed it between the charger and the port. It didn't work, BUT when I removed it, its DID WORK! Not sure why, but I'll be trying again if there's a next time.
Soo my light on the charger stopped coming on!!! Which meant it WASNT CHARGING AND I FREAKED OUT!! Anytime I unplugged it it would cut off But I did the smc reset and it’s on again!! Orange, but on!! Which means it is indeed charging. Thank you thank you thank you I legit was gonna cry.
Seeing the ease at which you released and removed the battery from that earlier generation macbook makes one look at the current trend of electronics design - burying the battery as deeply and inaccessibly as possible - and sadly come to the conclusion that the reason isn’t to build the best device possible for the user. And the users don’t even know and continue to reward this unacceptable manner of pushing the seasonal-refresh/dispose and replace norm onto everyone.
I just replaced the internal battery on my mid-2015 MBP for the second time. And will continue to do so many more times I’m sure before I decide to purchase another machine. It would be much more convenient for that process to be similar to the one shown in this video.
I mean, it’s not terrible, but after seeing that battery removal and replacement in this video, I am assured that it’s not great, either.

My MacBook Pro is a 2014 model and has done this since I got it, I tried a new charger same problem. I use a paper clip to clean the connections on the ports (the plug on the cable and the receiving port) this seems to work. A very annoying thing on an otherwise incredible product.

I literally got my Mac last month. I put it on charge and after few minutes the light turned off and I thought maybe the charge is done. Later it hit me that it would show green light if the charge was done. I can feel the vibration on the body when I put it on charge but it is not charging!!!

My Macbook air dosnt charge. When I press the Power Button it shows on Screen the Bty Diagram with part in RED. I tried with other Power Chargers of Friends thinking my Powewr Cable was Bad, but it didnt help. I dont know if it is ON or OFF. Yup, mine complete is zero. From the new magsafe L type charger for my A1181, my macbook still wont charge and the charger is not lighting up. Do i need to change batt bricks
Had to clean the magsafe port with the needle to remove the oxidation, reset the SMC and it started charging. Thank you!

i have MacBook Pro (17-inch, Early 2009) works perfectly running Mojave OS, but today the battery shows 100% fully charged so when i unplug the power adapter the MacBook shut down direct ! the condition of battery is "Replace Now" and the message under the power percintage says "power source : power adapter" , i do an SMC reset but the issue with battery not solve. i need to fix it ASAP plz to finish my graduation project.

The indicator says it's charging and on red light, but the battery not increased. Finally I have to buy a new charger.. 😕

The magnet around the charging port on my macbook pro 2012 is broken into many pieces after 10 years from hitting the magnet hard many times when connecting the cable to charge it. Where can I find a replacement? Apple does not store spares.
My Mac book went dead after my daughters watched a movie on it and let it die down completely. They are 3 and 4. I got the computer before my first born was born so it’s been about 4 years now. I haven’t taken very good care of the battery (didn’t know how). The babies have been using the computer as TV for those 4 years and at this point, I don’t know what’s going on with the battery. I plug it in and the battery plug doesn’t light up at all. I left it in for a few days and suddenly seen that the light on the plug turned green. I unplugged it, I put it back in and that wasn’t a good idea I realized. It was like I was back at square one. It didn’t light up at all until a few days later, I am now still waiting for the computer to do something. The light has finally turned green once again, but computer won’t turn on. I’m hoping the computer it’s self isn’t completely burnt out because all memories of my babies since they were born are on it! Any advice?!?! Should I take it to Apple?? Warranty ran out and I’m assuming they’ll charge me an arm and a leg to service it! 🙁
