Hi Matt, the S24 Ultra is definitely competitive to IPHONE 15 PRO MAX. I like the sleeker style. I like the round corners of the PRO MAX. The pictures are noticeably clearer on the PRO MAX. It could be a difficult decision. I would choose the IPHONE 15 PRO MAX mostly because of the Apple care + 🥰insurance. Also overall I do love the IPHONE 15 PRO MAX🌟
My take: Apple will withhold the AI features and will not make them available on plain iPhone 15 and maybe not even on the iPhone 15 Pro. AI is a huge opportunity for Apple to milk its customers again. It will not pass it.
Samsung will also start charging for Galaxy AI on a subscription basis after 2024. Samsung knows Apple will enter the market with their own AI so they're trying to capture the market before Apple does.
The thing with Apple is that they will wait until other companies do something and prove its worth doing, then Apple will re-create it perfectly and almost always be a smoother and cleaner version.
I sure hope not, the A17 Pro in the 15 Pro/Max has one of the fastest AI processors you can get, with its neural engine literally doubling in performance from 17 to 35 trillion operations per second. That would be a wasted opportunity if they don’t bring at least SOME AI features to the 15 Pro Max with iOS 18! Personally I think they will. They’ll withhold some things of course, and/or say they’ll work better on the iPhone 16’s, but Apple is the kind of company who is way more likely to market their AI as the software feature it is rather than a phone-exclusive hardware based feature like Samsung did.
Getting out of the Apple ecosystem is not a problem because I can still use both together - I still use my Macbook and rest of my devices are Samsung. It all depends on the person’s preference. Samsung offers a lot of customization and if you are a technical person, this option is really fun and beneficial in most ways. Apple has more or less fixed settings which you cannot manually customize so I have no choice but to deal as it is. It all depends on the user’s day to day requirements and preference. There are no best device over the other because it all boils down to each individual’s preference. Both products offer great options.
Long time android user… I grabbed the iPhone 15 pro max about a week after it’s release. I’m switching to the s24 ultra! Going to raffle the iPhone for my money. iPhone was cool for the animated text threads, it felt like another social media and I like how apps like Facebook and instagram are optimized for it and probably has a few more options and settings. When it comes to everything else my s22 was better!
I came to the iPhone 15PM from the s22 ultra and I don’t miss many things on android. Maybe faster charging and the ability to pause video recordings. On the other hand, Face ID is amazing, the scrolling is smoother than any phone I’ve had and the ergonomic is much better with the rounded edges. If I HAD to go with Samsung again I’d pick the s24+ but since I live in the UK, there’s no way I’d have Exynos again 😅

Everyone else seems to feel like they either HAVE to say they’re switching to S24 Ultra, or “S24 Ultra is better but I just can’t switch, I wish I could tho”. You can tell a lot of people in the comments have never actually used an s23 ultra or s24 ultra. They both feel snappier and smoother than my 15 pro max. My 15 pro max feels clunky in comparison to my s24 ultra.
I have pre-ordered the S24 Ultra, but the majority of videos have watched the 15 Pro Max has mostly better photo and video quality. Hoping Samsung can improve this with firmware/software updates, time will tell.

It's pretty clear that Samsung is in collaboration with Google when it comes to AI..The circle to search for example is a modified Google Lens, AI generative picture editing is currently on the Pixel .The MAIN difference is that Google carries out many of their features in the cloud but Qualcomm Gen 3 chip appears powerful enough for it to be performed on the phone
Can you do a comparison between the S24+ and Iphone 15 pro max? Based on specs it looks like those 2 are closer in size form factor and power but no one is doing that comparison
Only one thing that I disagreed with, you seem to give the performance edge to the Samsung. But I think the A17 Pro is still the superior chip, your scores were a bit lower than what I see on average from the chip. I usually see Geekbench single core average 2800-2900 on 15PM, multi core average 7300, and GPU test in 3D Mark gets 25 fps. I actually won the silicon lottery with my specific iPhone 15 Pro Max, which can get 3000 single core, 7500 multi core, and 26 fps in 3D Mark. So overall I’d definitely take the iPhone if you asked me to pick the highest performer!
The difference in the chips is negligible, the bionic is slightly ahead with cpu and the snapdragon is slightly ahead with gpu. Performance isn’t and won’t be an issue on either for the phones life, unless mobile game creators start making AAA games the chips will outlive the device.
The s24 is so tempting, the only thing holding me back is how much I like the apple tags.. maybe I’ll go back to android when I actually need a new phone. I will be replacing my m1 iPad with the tab 10 ultra when that releases though!

For context I’ve been a long time Android user and I’ve switched over to the iPhone 13 Pro Max since its launch. This was also my first Apple phone ever. I can say that I’m lucky or open minded enough to see pluses and minuses in both sides, so picking my next phone is an enormous dilemma for me… One question for apple fanboys though, do you still think that Android phones are laggy and slow? 🤔
Not the most recent ones. I've tried most of the newer ones for atleast a month starting with the Galaxy Fold 5. So everything released after Summer 2023 (Pixel 8 Pro and OnePlus Open) has been smooth as butter. I'm switching from my 14 Pro Max to the S24U.

I love apple so much, but a seed has been planted in my brain that I can’t get out. Apple is expensive, sure, it’s a premium brand, and they are great devices. But… Apple NEVER listens to user when making upgrades, they only listen to the money they make. This absolutely pisses me off. Brands like Samsung actually think about the quality of product the user will experience, and they offer many features that exist purely based on user experience. The only way Apple will ever change is if people stop buying their products, and that makes me mad as an Apple user. I really don’t want to switch, but in a few years it might not be an option

I've had the note 20U since release and I have to ask, "what are you doing with the phone in your pocket that it not only can be felt but also hurts!?" The USBC isn't the same bc apple requires a proprietary chip in the cable to get full functionality.
Samsung is good.. 7 years update is a big plus.. but sadly the camera is still very inconsistent, which will get better with time but... but.... Anyways, if u like more features in a phone than samsung is the way to go
Tbh every phone has its flaws. It comes down to user interface. Which do you prefer, android or iOS. Besides that and the different features each offers. They are basically both great phones Only thing I don’t like about iPhones is the glitchy keyboard, and the copy and paste annoyance

If I had a choice, I'd love to get a 13inch MBA M2 in silver. My old laptop was a 2013 15inch Macbook Pro and it recently got broken. Just switch from a s21 to the iPhone 15 pro max and i realized they both do somethings better than each other and somethings worse it just depends what you use your device for that will suit you
When it comes to the screen this normal has always installed a screen protector as soon as my Apple iPhone comes out of the box. Have had the glass screen protector crack after I dropped my Apple iPhone. Then replaced it the very same day. Now when it comes to speed. Do you think your normal user will tell the difference? Thing is both are super computers in your pocket. Then when it cameras each will serve normals needs. They well be the best camera is it will be the one they have with them. Then for this normal number one on my list is user security of the device, over the life of the product.

Android always good for six months but the apps just aren’t on par with Apple. Messaging an android user just shows you how ass backwards things are. Can’t send a photo without it looking like dial up internet.
Im gonna go with s24 ultra. Or fold 6 it just looks better and works better alot better. Only issue is Snapchat which i don't use. And some ecosystem things. But not a deal breaker at all

When I’m at work overnights I work in a high ride and I have a s22 ultra and a iPhone 14plus my galaxy doesn’t have service to a point .I can’t send texts or make calls while my iPhone has no issues at all and videos comes out clear not pixelated and .I prefer my iPhone and my daughter said her iphone13 was thrown into the street and ran over by a crazy ex and her phone is fine.

Beacuse apples ios is built to run apps in the background. It takes way more power to start up everything again. That's a superb thing with ios also. Just don't close them all. I close a few now and then but I can have like 30 apps open and it still runs buttery smooth
I don't care who has the best camera. Every flagship smartphone takes super pictures and video's. 97% of all smartphone users don't even see the differences. I'm a SMARTPHONE user so I want the best of : usablility and productivity options, gaming- and multi-media experience, personalization options and innovation. I want DEX, KNOX, S-PEN, call recording, multi-tasking, multi-window, fingerprint scanner, best screen, widgets, themes, integration with windows, the biggest eco-system (Samsung SmartThings), fast charging, fast wireless charging and I want AI. On all these aspects the S24 Ultra is destroying the iphone 15 PM big time. So why keep people buying these antiquated, restricted and very very limited iphones?
A few reputable articles say it has been doubled this year. 480 I believe, not as high as the Chinese androids like OnePlus and Oppo having 2000+ but higher than the 15 Pro Max yes.

My Samsung is the S21 Ultra so now 3 generations old and hasn't had a single "glitch" or whatever non sense you say lol. Then my iPhone which felt sluggish and old after about 7 months. I've had several generations now of each devices and Samsung is the clear winner.
The only phone that I would say that competes is probably the pixel by Google. They own the android operating system. Their photo is probably the best. Their video is almost there. And they own the Google intelligence without a cost. Samsung is just a cool tech phone but in real life usage the phones are used about the same as an iPhone software. Change my mind….

Well my s24 ultra can’t even give stable fps on genshin impact like game. I’m afraid to use this same brand phone in future. Truly disappointing
For me both felt as fast as each other. Samsung S phones are no where as slow and clunky like they were about 10 years ago

Tbh every phone has its flaws. It comes down to user interface. Which do you prefer, android or iOS. Besides that and the different features each offers. They are basically both great phones

They don't have the same size screen as stated in the video at 4:41. The S24 Ultra screen is stated to be 6.8" with a resolution of 1440 x 3120 and a pixel density of 505ppi vs. the iPhone's 6.7" display with a resolution of 1290x2796px and a pixel density of 460ppi.
If I had a choice, I'd love to get a 13inch MBA M2 in silver. My old laptop was a 2013 15inch Macbook Pro and it recently got broken. I think the new MBA is the best in terms of price, performance, and portability. By the way, love this new video on the Samung Galaxy S24 ultra! Keep the news coming!
Just switch from a s21 to the iPhone 15 pro max and i realized they both do somethings better than each other and somethings worse it just depends what you use your device for that will suit you
When it comes to the screen this normal has always installed a screen protector as soon as my Apple iPhone comes out of the box. Have had the glass screen protector crack after I dropped my Apple iPhone. Then replaced it the very same day.
Now when it comes to speed. Do you think your normal user will tell the difference? Thing is both are super computers in your pocket.
Then when it cameras each will serve normals needs. They well be the best camera is it will be the one they have with them.
Then for this normal number one on my list is user security of the device, over the life of the product.

Just an FYI geekbench between iOS and Android are not comparable they use different operations to score
Apple Watch, AirPods Pro 2, and my 15 pro max. The best combo.
Do that performance test again in six months and see how the Samsung holds up to the iPhone once that bloatware kicks in.

Android always good for six months but the apps just aren’t on par with Apple. Messaging an android user just shows you how ass backwards things are. Can’t send a photo without it looking like dial up internet.

It's not better. Samsung photos and videos are definitely superior. You should look at real pro tests instead of random settings opinions.
This is still their pre release software. I’m interested in seeing how much better the 24 ultra camera is after their next software update

When I’m at work overnights I work in a high ride and I have a s22 ultra and a iPhone 14plus my galaxy doesn’t have service to a point .I can’t send texts or make calls while my iPhone has no issues at all and videos comes out clear not pixelated and .I prefer my iPhone and my daughter said her iphone13 was thrown into the street and ran over by a crazy ex and her phone is fine.

Beacuse apples ios is built to run apps in the background. It takes way more power to start up everything again. That's a superb thing with ios also.

I don't care who has the best camera. Every flagship smartphone takes super pictures and video's. 97% of all smartphone users don't even see the differences.
I'm a SMARTPHONE user so I want the best of : usablility and productivity options, gaming- and multi-media experience, personalization options and innovation.
I want DEX, KNOX, S-PEN, call recording, multi-tasking, multi-window, fingerprint scanner, best screen, widgets, themes, integration with windows, the biggest eco-system (Samsung SmartThings), fast charging, fast wireless charging and I want AI.
On all these aspects the S24 Ultra is destroying the iphone 15 PM big time. So why keep people buying these antiquated, restricted and very very limited iphones?

A few reputable articles say it has been doubled this year. 480 I believe, not as high as the Chinese androids like OnePlus and Oppo having 2000+ but higher than the 15 Pro Max yes.

@creditguy365 Lol y'all will make up the weirdest stuff, I have Samsung for my personal phone and iPhone for work. My Samsung is the S21 Ultra so now 3 generations old and hasn't had a single "glitch" or whatever non sense you say lol. Then my iPhone which felt sluggish and old after about 7 months. I've had several generations now of each devices and Samsung is the clear winner.
The only phone that I would say that competes is probably the pixel by Google. They own the android operating system. Their photo is probably the best. Their video is almost there. And they own the Google intelligence without a cost. Samsung is just a cool tech phone but in real life usage the phones are used about the same as an iPhone software. Change my mind….
