    You know you can close the gap, buy moving the back plastic part that connects the to the tightening mechanism, its set at five and can clips to show less forehead 5,4,3,2,1.

    I seriously love how you compare bio stuff to high end cars. A man after my own heart!

      Hahaha! Glad to hear that someone is getting the references- so many similarities to what's going on in the automotive space.

    Exactly my experience. I cracked my Evade 2 against a concrete pole but it did save me from becoming a vegetable. I got the E3 and the same thing, big gap above the sunglasses and yes, my E2 was also pushing my Oakleys down on my nose after a long ride. I also noticed the side straps are just barely clearing my ear lobes. This is strange as I’ve seen other people wearing it but with a lot more space to spare and it doesn’t look like it’s adjustable. Another thing… I’m between L and M and with E2 I was a L but E3 a M, strange. And I miss my E2’s magnetic strap clip.

    'Tried 4 other-brand high-end helmets recently, but have now found the helmet for me .....Evade 3. The gap is a little smaller for me, and actually, being in S. FL like a little "cooling gap". And what I really like is that when I'm down low in aero, I can look up and not just see the helmet top.
    Besides that, it's my first Specialized helmet (have a few specialized bikes), and find it's super-easy to adjust, with a constant pressure around my head. Lastly, I usually wear a large (59cm head), and I went back and forth, between medium and large on this one.....so close and couldn't really feel a difference once strapped in, so ended up with the medium.

    • @outdoorbros_
      @outdoorbros_  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nice! Glad you like it. I have a large Evade 2 and the footprint on the helmet is dramatically larger than the medium. Not sure if it’s the same with the 3, but you’ll likely be glad you went medium.

      @@outdoorbros_ Thanks, your review made the difference ! A couple of rides in, and I really like it. The other noticeable qualities include being quieter ie less wind noise around the ears, and there is no interference with the eyewear arms, which was an issue with a few others.

    Thanks for the comparison! Really looking forward to this. Although the rear vent of Evade 3s looks like Pocs, which works well. imo

    The very first time I saw the rear diffuser my thought was immediately on the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport or the Divo..love the way you think!
    I currently have the Evade 1 Torch edition and love it but it boils my brain in the Texas heat… excited for your Prevail video next week (that’s what I’m looking to get or a POC!)
    Another banger📹🤌🏽

    • @AnthonyGarcia0

      I ended up getting the Prevail 2 right before the 3 was released. Learned a valid lesson to wait for the TDF to begin before purchasing new gear.
      I have the POC Ventral Air and was looking for a white helmet to compliment some different kits. The Prevail 2 is slick but my only complaint is that I have a terrible time putting my glasses in the vents when I’m climbing. They either block my vision or just don’t stay in correctly.
      Super curious to hear if this is fixed with the new one.

    I just bought this, and the guy at the bike shop mentioned you can adjust the tilt of the helmet (and thus that gap you mention) via the snap fasteners inside. Did you play around with those?

    • @Johnny5sWorld
      @Johnny5sWorld ปีที่แล้ว

      I am really curious what you meant by snap fasteners? I just got this helmet yesterday and after looking inside the helmet the only type of fasteners I see are the velcro dots that hold the padding, the Boa Dial on the back near the rear diffuser that tightens the helmet once you are wearing it. Didn't see any other method to change the position in which the helmet dips down near your eyebrows? Am I missing something?

    • @chbrosz
      @chbrosz ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Johnny5sWorld check under the padding. The plastic strips underneath are snapped into positions. You can change this position, which then changes how the helmet fits your head. Good luck 👌🏼

    I really like this review. I have noticed that ‘gap’ and have been worried about it. It isn’t neat enough for me. I haven’t ridden in one, just tried one on. I decided straight away that I was going to need new glasses with this lid. I think it’s a good lid, it just doesn’t fit me. Thank you.

    I’ve been wearing Kask for the past 5 years. I love the way the evade looks, but I have a more rounded head and the evade 2 had a gap between my forehead and the back of my head with pinching on the side. I’m hoping the prevail will fit different.

    • @outdoorbros_

    • @outdoorbros_
      @outdoorbros_  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's hard to beat the comfort of the Protone Icon- that helmet is shaped so well and it's incredibly light. They're similar, comfort advantage going to the Protone Icon.

      @@outdoorbros_ thinking of returning my Protone Icon, rear adjustment mechanism just seems so sloppy compared to my old Protone, this means when you move your head up and down on the bike you hear (and feel) the ratchet clicking...annoying! I've tried and returned 2 models, both like this :(
