Today I called my manager crying whilst telling her I was not OK and feeling so overwhelmed by work. I was ashamed after cause I thought I was totally being overdramatic... but then I realized, i was being brave and therefore I experienced discomfort. I wasn't overdramatic i was just feeling uncomfortable, but at the same time... I was brave♡. Brave enough to speak up, brave enough to show my boundaries en brave enough to tell her what no one else did before but said they wanted. I was speaking my truth, maybe via tears, but directly from a pure and honest place and being brave with that🙏

Hope she took your feelings seriously and made an effort to help you. What employers many times do not understand is that their employees wellbeing at work is their responsability, and it's good for both parts. You were brave! Big hug :)

So many powerful statements require me to listen again and again to understand and apply to my life. Those old tapes of feeling unworthy, not good enough, feeling I am a mistake. Others validating you're not enough, too sensitive. I've owned my mistakes yet self forgiveness... boy, that's taking time. Brene Brown i appreciate you.

I have no desire to be “a courageous leader”! All I want right now is to be able to function - to be able to sleep at night, to wake up in the early morning, and do what needs to be done, to care for myself and one measly cat, to function as a competent parent and grandparent, to have a reasonably clean, neat, organized, comfortable home.

    • @LightworkBeacon

If you are accomplishing those things, then you are demonstrating leadership qualities in your own way.
That naturally shows outwardly. Taking care of yourself is not a selfish first step. You do you!!🙏❤🕊💫

You're the best, always remember this and don't be pressure or intimidated by the success of others.
Everyone has their own success story but different timing 🤔
Don't compare your journey to those whose journey are different from yours....
Time is on your side and your timing is different from theirs.
Just Keep grinding👏🏾, because am very sure one day, you will also be celebrated.
    Have a blessed day

You blew me out of the water with... People don't let their kids experience failure...
This was my epiphany... My way of saying this was...
Let your kids fall and skin their knee at 3 when they run too fast... So they don't screw up on big stuff at 16 that you can't save them from

I am so desperate to find a way to change the way that I look at time it’s affecting my life in every single aspect. It’s negatively affecting my family relationships, my friendships, my romantic relationships, my ability to be a successful as possible in the current nursing program that I’m in and I just need a way to change it and I have not come across more than just advice, rather than steps of how to work on this in the hundreds of podcasts that I’ve watched. However, your method sounds like a very useful way to begin the process.
I’m starting this time tracking exercise today. I will update you thank you for this.

It is VERY difficult to put yourself out there when you believe what you do is directly tied to your self-worth. As a musician, I am petrified to make a mistake because, to me, that equals failure. I'm so afraid of seeing someone "turn off" if I do make a mistake.

If I find myself in the presence of really admirable people that make me want to change myself, then I am going to strive to change myself so that I will fit better into that group. To say that feeling some pressure to change - and then making positive changes - is self-betrayal just doesn't jibe with my life experiences.

I love Brené Brown she makes it sound so easy to do? I mean i am in love with a man and that i can’t tell him that i am a transgender and that is something that he does not know an i don’t think I will or every be able to tell him the truth. Is that shame or is that guilt..so that is why, i think i can relate to ever word that she is talking about?

Please, please read the book “The Tools” by Phil Stutz. This video tells you what is important in life and that it will make you become a better person but doesn’t really give you the tools to make that happen. It doesn’t make it easier for you to tell this man you’re in love with that you are trans. You’re fearing rejection from him because that would mean he might not want to be a part of your life anymore and that probably scares you more than anything. This book completely changed my life. I used to be so bad about micromanaging people and I came off as an asshole. The Book helped me realize that what I was doing doesn’t help the person at all and only makes me hated. I’ve since learned how to communicate to my team better and use my knowledge to educate without being a threat. To make their job easier and more efficient while still doing a quality job. I’ve learned to say sorry and admit when I’m wrong at things. I can now tell myself “I am not perfect, and my way is not the only way”
“You can’t control the outcome. You can only control the effort you put in. This may be hard to accept, but it’s also liberating. It means you don’t have to be perfect-just determined.” Phil Stutz
When using this quote in your situation you can see that of course there’s a chance that the man you’re in love with doesn’t love you back, thus being the “outcome you cannot control”. You on the other hand have full control of the actions you can take “controlling the effort you put in”. Example “you’ll never know if you don’t ask”. By always running different scenarios through your head you become overwhelmed and put in no actual effort to take action.
The sooner you put yourself through the uncomfortable situation of telling this man your truth, the faster you can move forward with life whether that be in a relationship with him or not. Rejection happens to every person in every form all through life. Some people experience more rejection than others and it might feel unfair at times but it’s how you deal with that rejection that determines what kind of person you are. The most successful people in life are the best at facing rejection because it allows them to see new experiences and reach bigger and better goals.
I seriously wish you the best and I do hope this man remains a part of your life after you tell him but if that isn’t the case just know that you are strong enough to continue moving forward. ❤

Please please read the book “the tools” by phil stutz. His entire book is 100% giving you the exact tools to put this into action. All the amazing things in this video that are said to be important in making change happen, the book teaches how to do. For me the book has helped me to not nitpick things that are not that big of deal. Things that don’t need escalation. I used the book to stop being a micro manager. I instead use my knowledge to educate and help my team accomplish things correctly and efficiently instead of scolding and taking over. It’s clear that you have identified there is change you’d like to make.
Side note, I know this might sound like I am affiliated with this book but honestly it’s just made me a better person and I want everyone to achieve the same. ❤️

She's gives a few different examples of shame but they're not the real point. We all have our own box that we build around ourselves and blame others for being in. Left unchecked, shame, in whatever form the human experiences it in, is not good for us.

= a lot of talk, with long catchwords that have no meaning if we're not given to understand how to actualize the things being talked about. it's easy to say resilience, authenticity, vulnerability, but harder to communicate how to embody those qualities.

which one is shame vs guilt. I am the mistake vs I made one. I make mistakes. With those close to me it becomes I am the mistake then they leave. It is like quicksand, once I make one that is all they see and all I am. a series of mistakes. even though they are never the same mistake.
