Hi Tyler and sweet Dobby! We all have our low times in life. Usually, what snaps me out of my slumps is to literally look at what I have for blessings in my life. I don't look at the glass half empty or half full. I'm just grateful that I have a glass, lol! I have to remind myself about that a lot. It's always easier to recognize someone else's blessings. We are so critical of ourselves. Be kind and compassionate to yourself because Dobby loves you just the way you are!😊

I’m a 60 year old man and I have to say that you are very impressive and important to so many people! You are living the fantasy that some people only wished they had the courage to!! ( mainly me)😂 I’m a veteran and suffer from depression and anxiety and many more. I’ve struggled with suicidal tendencies and I’m lucky to say. I failed miserably 🙏🙏🙏❤️ so I’m watching you and thinking what an amazing young man! Just keep doing what you’re doing and passionate about your life! We are too. Winter is winter wherever you are. You could be wintering in the cabin and stuck there for months or you can winter in your van traveling around with Dobby! Definitely not a FAILURE Tyler, you've done so much... And much of it was working against you. I know it feels like the end for you, but it's just time to pause and regroup for spring. In the spring your cabin in the woods will be your fulltime home. Be proud of yourself and keep enjoying the journey through winter.... the small things.

If you think that you are failing in what you were doing at the cabin and change your mind. You are far far far from failing. As I watched year before and after stuff at the beginning of this video, it just made me realize how much you really have done since you got there. That was a whole Lotta work. The transformation of the land area itself is huge. When you’re able to get back there, even if it’s in the spring, you are going to go back and rock it. I have a cabin that I lived at full time for 30 years. The first years were tough but I was your age and took the hardships as they came along. I now just use it for summers only and it is always a sad day when I lock up.
Spend the winter shopping for a quad with tracks as an accessory and it will give you accessibility to an from the cabin year round.
Chin up buddy, you are in for an adventure you'll never regret.

Hello Tyler and Dobby. I found your channel yesterday and have now watched every video. What an incredible experience you are having! You are using your whole body, heart and mind to exist in an unforgiving wilderness. You have made friends with new neighbors and explored your new territory. You have invested energy and resources into a homestead with beautiful views. You have shared your days with your stalwart canine companion and enjoyed moments of serenity sitting in the sun.
Having lived with depression for nearly four decades, you are living my dream. Self-sufficient, remote but not completely isolated from society, surrounded by the sights, sounds , and smells of nature. I will not presume to know you or your experiences on this planet, but I can say that these videos are amazing and I am jealous of your progress over the past few months. Every day that we wake up is a good day. The voices in our head can be a blessing or a curse...learn when to trust them and when to tell them to shut up. Spring is not that far away and you should take this time to plan and re-evaluate priorities. I'm cheering you on, both for your progress with the cabin and life in general.

I think you should be proud of yourself for what you have done there at your cabin. The mess, the over grown weeds and trees you’ve cleared, the parts of the cabin you’ve taken down and ready to improve, non of it took a few months to get that way, and who knows how many people made it that way over the years. You are one person and accomplish so much by yourself. Failure, nah, it’s a win in my books. Winter could give you time to make plans and get supplies so you’re more prepared for warmer weather again. I’m sure if you talk to somebody with snow machines they’d be more than willing to take supplies in through the winter.

I love your channel. So glad I found it. Your followers are not going anywhere. This is inspiring content. I really enjoyed seeing the progress you made on the cabin but now I am interested in how in the world you survive in a van in a Canadian winter.
While you're taking the winter off away from the cabin, it's the perfect opportunity to bone up on skills/knowledge you'll need once you're back. I suggest you learn how to can fruits and vegetables. Once you have a vegetable garden going (with deer fencing), you can preserve some of the food you've grown for the next winter. You may also want to get a goat or two. They can keep the foliage and weeds down and provide milk for cheese. There's so much you can plan for during this time away. Get some books on homesteading and watch videos. This time is actually a gift, giving you more time to learn, plan and prepare. You've got this!
