Szayel's death is, in my opinion, one of the most brutal in Bleach. The dude spent a literal eternity stuck in his own brain begging for death.

He's the kinkiest Espada AND has an unpronounceable name. Truly an interesting character
Its hilarious because the espada aren't based off the 7 deadly sins but szayelaporro has the lust aspect going on with him

@Daniel Wright Mayuri is one of my least favorite characters in Bleach, speaking from a strictly philosophical and moral standpoint. But I have to give him credit for that speech.
I read that in my head in Mayuri's voice with the music in the background and all. That scene is just as fresh in my head today as it was the day I saw it.

in the world of the living, szayelaporro was a scientist that experimented on humans and his brother was a general.
szayelaporro was attacked by a hollow than died. when he became a plus, he severed his chain and became a hollow.
he preceded to kill and devour his brother and then he devoured the hollow that killed him.

Szayelaporro's best moment for me is the Perfection Speech Mayuri gives him as he waits (for what feels like) an eternity to die
artydomi thats more mayuris moments than szayelaporros but its still an awesome scene
Probably the most disturbing death I've seen in fiction. And Szayel's VA sold it perfectly; the desperation in his voice was palpable during those final moments.

Tekking you could tie a Luppi discussion into a bigger topic on the rankings and how rankings change and things like that. Just an idea to make it a more interesting topic since Luppi doesn’t get much screen time.

If I remember correctly, They were brothers in life. Grantz was a Soilder and Szyl was a scientist that worked on war prisoners for experiments. The prisoners died and eventually became a hollow. The hollow killed the both of them but Szyl never screamed. And they became hollows but Szyl ate Grantz and became the 0 espade

Fan04 GM well he literally tortured tons of people that his brother gave to him. He deserved all he got in more, he was genuine evil. Ulquiorra and such were evil because of their hollow attributes that bulls their positive emotions but I believe sslzaporro was the only one who went to hell

Thirtys the preverone espada are simple, they were natural imperfect arranacars, and aizen ditches them after getting stronger arrancars made from the hogyoku and went “yeah y’all used to be my elites, so I’ll give you your own areas in los noches for that memory”
Szayel is my favorite Espada by far. What a cool character. Him showing up with Mayuri in the TYBW Arc literally made my scream with joy and his CFYOW Art was nuts. What a good Espada! I like how arrogant he is and how smart he is and his voice in both the dub and the sub are great! Love this man.
The number 8 Espade ability is to give any enemy head

Szaeyel is my favourite espada because in general I prefer the intelligent characters but not just that, he is so fun to watch unlike some of the espadas. My favourite thing about him is how he would seemingly be a minor character but he got 2 fights, part of one of the most iconic bleach moments (the perfection speech), a movie appearance, references throughout the rest of the series and an important role in the light novels with an in depth back story. He was done so well I have to give props. Also thanks to kubo for making the sexual, lusty character a cool mad scientist and not a big tissue anime babe .

Wimplo86 well barrangan can easyly beat anyone weaker than him. Stark is the second fastest and can span weaker ceros that we stronger than ballas. Ulquiorras second release is by far the strongest. Yammy has the strongest hierro and has the strongest rietsu besides ulquiorra. And sslzaporro has the strongest hax and before splitting from his brother was immensely powerful. Then with characters you haven’t mentioned grimmjow in base is now stronger than second release ulqiorra by a huge margin, hallibel is pretty strong but sadly her and nel don’t have many power feats. Aaroniero can evolve infinitely and the form he took at the end of his fight with rukia he was thousands of time stronger and was maybe stronger than even ulquiorra. Zoomari is really hax as well, he looks at you with one of your eyes and you can’t even move, he’s also the most skilled with sonido. Nnoitora is pretty damn weak, he’s only even ranked higher than grimmjow because he killed the ex third, his hierro is quite strong though even though a heavily injured ichigo was able to fight on par with him. Then as an honorable mention there’s that nurse that yammy threw into the wall, at the cost of damaging her own body she can copy any ability, the stronger the ability the more damage it does to her body, and she can even copy ichigo’s mugetsu. The espada ain’t really linear, aizen just ranked them off of how powerful their rietsu is and based off and if they had beaten espada with higher rietsu. I always thought it was neat that before the tybw it was “they are stronger than each other in certain aspects, except ulquiorra as he can just spam nukes”

Did you just genuinely say, "well, Barragan can easily beat anyone weaker than him" as if you were making some kind of point? Most all characters in all of fiction can easily beat characters who are weaker than them. I think you mean to say, Barragan's skill is so OP, he can rather easily beat people who are stronger than him. I mean, it took a very specific kind of hax to put down Barragan, utulizing an ability to make Barragan attack himself.
I mean, granted, Aizen wasn't worried about him, but Aizen wasn't really worried about much of anyone other than maybe Yamamoto. Even Ichigo, who he was training to be capable of fighting on a level that would push Aizen to yet another new next step in his evolution to Godhood was just this afterthought, Aizen never considered that he'd lose to him. So, perhaps Aizen was just cocky like that, even if he did back up his pompous attitude by actually being seriously OP.
So, all in all, unless there's something I'm missing, like some explanation that high levels of Reiatsu counters the aging mist, I really thing Barragan was the "strongest" in at least the sense that his ability was so hax that he could effectively destroy things that would have overpowered him in other ways.
But, idk. Bleach is weird. It's hard to say.
@@jaykay6222 it is actually stated by Aizen that you can counter abilities by having superior reiatsu. He explained this after negging Soi Fon's shikai. So yeah, anyone sufficiently stronger than Barragan can negate respira

Basicly, Yylford and Szayel were brothers in life, Szayel a scientist and Yylfordt a warlord who suppiles him with Test Subject, they end up getting killed and eaten by a hollow, Szayel's mind takes it over, becomes Espada 0 but due his brothers side is unable to "keep subjects alive for experimentation" due his... Temper tantrums, so he separates that part of his soul into Yylfordt.
THat is how I understood it from one Bleach Site.

No i think right after gin stole the hogyoku it was stated Azien made the hogyoku first and feed shinigaim to it and when he found out kisuke made one he came up with a plan to steal it and then he feed kisuke's hogyoku to his hogyoku

30:44 he was not "demoted", it's just that the separation of the two being made him start from the begining of Adjucas.
What realy happen was that Szal and ilford were Human brother but the two were killed by a hollow and even before Szal was a total Hollow he eat his brother soul. The problem for Szal was like in the manga he want perfection but because of the influence of his brother soul he always loose himself to battle fury so Szal choose to abandon his brother soul (at this point he was a Vasto Lord Arancard)which restart him back to adjucas with his mask on, same for Ildford (who later join Grim).
And I think he was under Aizen even has espada 0.
It's weird how despite Szayel's cool and crazy powers, he's still somehow one rank lower than Zommari.

Yes Szayel's backstory is canon. i can't confirm the rest but that's the one part that was canon.
Szayel before separating and Cien are the same entity, Cien is just a perfect clone.
Btw at 30% Ciens Reitsu was said to be triple that of resurrecion Yammy.

@@thomasthecoolkid7228 Szayel essentially split from his brother because when they were the same entity, his brothets fighting personality would take over and there would never even be a body to experiment on, which Szayel wanted for research.
It was also said he could spirit crush you like a bug if you weren't careful.
So Szayel and his brother separated so Szayel could do his experiments without his brother's personality causing him to destroy the body.
Doing this devolved Szayel back into an Adjuchas, and he eventually achieved Gabriel. It was stated that given enough time, Szayel could have eventually obtained the power he formerly had.
Current Ichigo would slap him though

Well, as far as I know, Luppi didn’t appear in any light novel, but there was something with Luppi that happened in Brave Souls. It was like a mini event where, after the TYBW arc, zombie Luppi challenges Grimmjow to a fight as revenge for killing him. The spirit or a memory of Szayle’ (?) is speaking over the battle and he exposits that Loppi has the same theme/aspect of death as Grimmjow: hunger. And during the fight, Luppi was getting more and more bloodthirsty and into the fight.
Well that everything that I can give about Luppi. I forgot what the event was called, but I’m sure you can research it on the wiki (both Bleach and Brave Soul).

@Astro entertainment hahahahahaha if that's your logic redact that statement immediately, on innumerable streams Tekkings has stated he doesn't care how popular something is and most things he only gets to months or years after their made if at all, so it being popular means less than nothing to him, he hasn't watched demon slayer either even after being prodded to do it thousands of times, he just does things whenever he feels like it, timing and popularity are beyond meaningless to him, also I don't remember hearing it on his most recent current anime and manga list on one of his streams where he named everything he's bothering with. So I highly doubt he knows anything about it.

From what you have said I would view him being espada 0 as him having a huge mass of reiatsu, like yami, but no real control of it so he can be pawned by others like Stark or Baragon since they are very powerful and have control. I think that is what makes more sense on the LN on why he is the espada 0.
From what I've heard, he basically had his brother's bloodlust which would make him lose control and go on rampages. As a scientist seeking perfection, Syal hated this and that's why he split his soul from his brother's and regained his sanity in a sense. Now he was able to use his gabriel ability and resurrect and become "perfect". But similarly to Stark after splitting with Liliel, this came at the cost of Reiatsu and so he was demoted to 8th.
