I always found Toshiro’s reaction to Halibel’s transformation amusing. She loses about 90% of her clothes and Toshiro’s like “Well, it’s not as different as I was expecting.” Like he doesn’t even notice. But Imagine if Shunsui and Toshiro’s roles in the Fake Karakura fight were reversed. I’m 1000% certain that Shunsui would’ve tried flirting with Halibel after her ressurreccion release.

I love the theory that Segunda Etapa is actually the true original form of a Hollow, back when the worlds were one. Seeing Ulquiorra become purely animalistic, removing the boney undead look that most Hollow have while also revealing the true emptiness from within. A perfect design through and through.
@wanderingshade8383 I know what it's talking about. My point is that the databook showed us what ulquiorra looked like when he was BORN, so in no way could it even be possible for the segunda etapa to be ulquiorras primordial hollow form from the days of the soul king.

The anime is going to add around 40-50% new content for the rest of the 2 cours. We could still see it with extended fight scenes and other new abilities from others!
I think Zommari is inside a lotus rather than a pumpkin if we are to believe his beyond resurreccion form from BBS. It does make more sense with the lotus, theme of love, and control; essentially a substitute for someone enamored. The gaze of a person upon someone who they become bewitched and the lotus and it's ties to the kama sutra just feels like it all goes into place.
Barragan is not only my favorite espada, but also has my favorite resurrección. Design wise he looks like a grim reaper wearing a crown 👑 and wielding a nasty battle axe instead of scythe.
I can't 't believe Kubo designed Espada, which are 10/10 drip, and then he outdid himself by designing the sternritter, who are 11/10 drip. Say what you want, about Kubo's storytelling but his character desigh is fire, fr fr
I don't know, I feel that the Sterns were the least tied to their swords/Zanpaktuos for power-upping, the Arrancars the most, and the Shinigami the more/or less balance, depending on the relationship btw. The Zanpaktuos and their Shinigami. ehh.. 😌
Kubo does more visual storytelling, people don't understand this enough. He actually uses philosophical themes and visual representation more than any other manga
A lot of people often used respira as argument on why barragan should be primera. While starrk have a lot of cool and powerful ability, they don’t really compare to a literal death touch. But i think it’s by design. Barragan like to show off. He enjoy having an imposing presence and make people cower in fear before the might of the king of hollow. Starrk is way more low key and might seem underwhelming at first until you really think about it and realize how insane each of his ability are.
Plus Starkk can rapid fire Ceros from a safe distance, and I don’t think Barragan can decay Cero before turning into swiss cheese. Even solidified Reyatsu took him so much time to decay Soi Fong could fire a missile against him.
24:01- Szayel's letiny of powers and nearly humanoid form probably hinted he was previously a Vasto Lorde class that lost his power, if the more base humanoid form compared to the other lesser Espada gave any indication.
Some of the novels explore his past - he was a Vasto Lorde & the original Cero Espada, but split off Ylfordt (his brother in life & one of the Hollows he devoured when becoming a Menos), which left both of them at the Adjuchas level iirc. He gets an evil clone named Cien thanks to a spider Arrancar (the doctor Yammy killed, turns out she can reform herself & accidentally brings Cien into existence too). Info may not be 100% because I've only read summaries
So when people say they love Ulquiorra’s resurrecion, they mean his segunda etapa right? It seems like people totally forget his first release, which is just him in a dress with wings…
1:03- Back when I was reading weekly, I wasn't excited about learning the Bankai of the Captains, but rather the Resurrecion of each Espada- how each would be crazier than the last.
Grimmjow is by far my favorite Espada and his Release is everything i expected of him. No pomp, no flash, ALL FIGHT. Sleek, simple, brutal, kill or be killed. He should absolutely get a Segunda and it should focus on speed as befitting the brutal panther king.
15:51- I think the best way to make Yammy relevant would be to condense that form into a more compact humanoid that would boost greater power instead of turning into an ever-elaborating array of Kaiju forms. Maybe him showing up with a defeated Byakuya and Zaraki in his arms just as Aizen is seemingly defeated and Ichigo has seemingly won, would've been a greater payoff to why the character stuck around- maybe having him then one-shot by the Zero Squad to hype them up retroactively.
I'm pretty sure Cirucci discarding parts of her resurrection is a permanent change. In CFYOW, she mentions that Mayuri was able to fix it, which wouldn't make sense if it was just for that battle
Ressureccion are supposed to be like Bankai in that regard (and others), so it'd make sense Mayuri would be able to restore her. But yeah, it's pretty explicitly a permanent change, not sure why there'd be confusion about that

I of course always want to see more from Grimmjow and Halibel. It would be an extremely missed opportunity to not have them in the Hell arc with a segunda etapa each. I also feel like an extremely brutal rematch between Stark and Shunsui would be perfect.
Having each of the top 5 get a Segunda Etapa would have been amazing. It shows why they’re the strongest of the Espada and then having Grimmjow get one in tybw would have showed his growth
Honestly I think Wonderweiss being the 0 Espada would have been better we always knew he was on their level anyway and he was definitely a special weapon. Yammy still ended up being a brute who got clapped (off screen at that) so there was no point in the rank change
37:59- While it appears like a cosmetic change like the normal Arrancar and a hint he used to be a runt that got in the Espada by his toughness and ruthless pragmatism, the design is much more strealimed and fits the design of a raging, horned ashura than the bulky, overdesigned look of the normal Arrancar. It fits him well as one of the conventionally top 5 Espada- being much more humanoid than the bestial lower 5, but not as inherently regal as the top 4. Plus the multiple scythes, regeneration, and hidden arms fits with his merciless and brutal fighting style.
36:26- Grimmjow's release captures the feral and brawler nature of the character while giving a hint why Luppi was never a true Espada and why Aaroniero remained by technicality- it's a streamlined, humanoid version of his base form rather than a cosmetic addition. His form had a lot of powers, but the form was simple- a long-haired cat warrior. It left the groundwork for the remaining Espada to have much more elaborate designs going forward.

Hell, as mentioned in another video, halibel was just mostly used to convey how stronk this new faction of enemies are, by how much they subjegated her... Frankly it's hard to say what that even proves, it seemed like even lieutenants could take her out if they had bankai. This is coming from a guy that literally loves powerful badass women, and literally could care less about fanservice.... As I like dudes. They could have did more with her and nel, but rly didn't, all I'm saying lol.
All of the dead (and as implied in my last comment, the alive ones as well) espada could use an update to the same scale as 8 in hell arc... He was admittedly badass, and as you said he rly didn't even need a redesign. 7, 5, 0/10, 3,9, old 3, the previous ones in this video, 1 (most likely to get a hell arc redesign if I'm being honest here), 4, 6, and 2 (kindof odd that all the even numbered espada aside from yammy have designs that still hold up but I digress) in that order.... Could use an upgrade. 5 is still cool, but I can Already imagine they will head in that direction this commenter mentioned, with the hell arc. And admittedly, I wanna see that lol. The obvious money is on 2, 4, 5, 6, 0, and 1 getting upgrades, and the rest being forgotten, tho. Maybe nel, if kubo remembers. Yes I know she and grimjow isn't dead... Yet. Lol.

Ulquiorra’s always stood out. The explosion of reiatsu that rains on Ichigo to reveal these great black wings with the white gown. It’s reverent and gothic at the same time, hinting at the dark power brewing underneath. Then we see his Segunda Etapa, where Ulquiorra is swallowed up in a tidal wave of black reiatsu only to then rip the curtain back and reveal a demon as is his Resurrección’s name. Whereas all the other Hollows and Arrancar’s Release forms are stark white, Ulquiorra is black as night. He resembles a Holllow, but not any Hollow we’ve ever seen. It’s absolutely badass.
24:01- The anime portrays like like a gray cloud with a pink aura gradually forming into a solid form, which is somewhat ethereal- which fits Szayel's massive ego. However, the manga perfectly captures his hypocrisy- Nemu spits out which is essentially a parasite with a mouth before vomiting out the complete form in a ghastly manner while Szayel pretends to see it as a divine act of perfection, which is infuriating to the reader and to Mayuri for someone being that shallow minded to not seek out alternative means- not of moral reasons (Mayuri is far too unscurlplous for that), but due to not adhering to the scientist role- having it take backstage for his theatrical posturing. And he's not done in by superior raw power, but his own powers and hubris blinding him to the potential threat of his enemies. On the whole, Szayel is pretty on the first glance with his dolls even being cute, but looking deeper, you see the disgusting and revoluting madness and monstrosity of the person- with his seemingly angelic form hiding its grotesque truth.
6:25- This is what I feel differs the normal Arrancar and the Espada- the former get bizarre cosmetic changes- almost like costume props while remaining largely the same while the latter their former is essentially a streamlined version of their Hollow forms, being entirely different attire changes- more humanoid or bestial depending on the Espada. Aaroniero is the exception, but his ability makes up for it.
For my favorites, it's a tie between Pantera and Murciélago. Pantera was awesome, and the music accompanying it in the Anime was badass. But Murciélago was horrifying, haunting and traumatized me greatly. Right behind them is Santa Teresa, only because it's release in the Anime is one of the hypest moments of all times, and always sends a chill down my spine.

I feel like Stark has a Segunda Etapa that he goes out of his way to avoid using. He is shown to dread his power because it isolates him and he wants to be around others. So I would love to see what his Segunda Etapa is. What is this full true power is that stark has which is so powerful that it can literally keep everyone including all the other espada away from him without him having to even put in effort
Cool question! What do you think the Vizard Resurrección could be? We saw Tōsen achieve it in his fight with Komamura, and Tite Kubo even stated on Klub Outside that it was possible for all Vizards to do it given enough time and training.
Cirucci may have shed part of hers in the past (potentially why she was kicked out because it may have been seen as a weakness) potentially a weapon related to the golden disks on her shoulders
For what I think could work for a design for nel would be a simple design giving her centaur body wings and making her body more Valkyrie like but the biggest change would come in her abilities first she would be able to multiple items for various different purposes like shields binoculars swords etc to give her a wide array of offensive and defensive options and the ability to produce a light that can negate abilities stop or even kill a target based on how nel feels about the target if the target is hurting her friends it goes to full power
I imagine Yammi's first release form IS the incomplete form, and the second one is the release form. Kinda like Toshiro's immature Bankai. Imagine if Aaroniero ate Ikomikidomoe. How horrifying would that be? Definitely 0 Espada level. I wonder if Zommari would be terrifying in live-action. If the cartoon style is what hurts his design. Also, I wonder if his Pesqisa is the highest or one of the highest of the Espada since it's such a necessary part of his rez ability
For Number 9 - wasnt it said, that when you become an Arrancar, eg if your Mask breaks you cannot evolve into higher "forms"? So it makes sense, that he stays a Gillian even after having an Hollow All you can Eat.
I feel with 5:40 many may be overlooking an additional set of options. Let's not forget that, like reapers, hollows are spiritual beings so spiritual explanations are an option. So what if it's only temporary in a physical sense, but permanent in a spiritual sense. Like what if the parts are imbued with a part of who she is which she loses when she cast them off, but she can replace them by partitioning off another part of who she is?
I just realized how much Kubo really foreshadowed future plot points with the espada. #105 said once they remove a part of their Resurreccion it will never go back to it's original form, later we learn damaged Bankai will never fully heal like in the case of Ikkaku. Stark was so powerful he split his power and created a new sentient child like female being that was as strong as an espada subordinate and needed to resorb her to become complete again, later it is revealed that Kenny also unconsciously created his own sentient child like female being that was as strong as a lieutenant Yachiru and had to "re-absorb" her to use his full strength. Honestly the more I rewatch the series and watch TH-cam videos about Bleach I realized alot of the stuff people complained about Kubo's ass pulling was stuff he hinted at a very long time
I realized this awhile ago but I’m so glad for the new anime for including new things and adding more depth to the TYBW arc bc a lot of the the fights with the sternritter are just rehashes of fights with better versions of these guys. Think about it. Byakuya fights again against someone whose better at controlling someone and their abilities fully, under the guise of love. Byakuya and kenpachi both end up fighting together against an enemy that grows gigantic and that can “evolve” as he gets damaged. Toshiro ends up joining them and also ends up in a 3v1 against an opponent. Shunsui fights against an opponent that ends up splitting itself in some way with an ally that has some way of “reflecting” the enemy’s spiritual power. Shunsui also fights against the gun users again. Soi fon ends up fighting alongside her vice captain and using her bankai that ends up not destroying the opponent and seemingly doing very little, despite it being a nuke. Rukia has to fight against an opponent that uses her own fears and insecurities against her again. Mayuri ends up fighting against the opponents that are essentially immortal. Yama fights against the big bad but low see a bc the opponent just uses his brain and goes into the fight with a plan that specifically outsmarts him, bc no one can beat him in a fair 1 vs 1 scenario. And isane seemingly does nothing.
Syzaelaporro is the most interesting to me. We had him as Cien Franz in the novels and now in the Hell arc as well. Kubo seems to be trying to pull something here. Mayuri better starts upgrading his bankai before facing his nemesis once again in hell.
I'm curious as to how becoming an arancar makes you stronger? Because it seals parts of their power, and its said they have access to shinigami like powers but they don't use like kido for example so does it allow their blades to have powers themselves like a shinigami like if harribel wasn't an arrancar she wouldn't be able to control water?
Looking at it I’m pretty sure nells centaur horse Body is not a horse, but a goat. Look out how to fluffy it is and then look at the goat horns that she has on her mask. I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to be a half goat.
Getting the details of the others that i missed while watching, I'm still a huge fan of Ulquiorra and his forms. My personal favorite of them all and my favorite funko pop too! 😂
Dordonii always reminded me of a goat and i thought it was weird that he made birds with his legs. I think Baraggan is one of the cases of, he is his own weakness. I believe after the soifon hit it kind of hints at while he is in his Resurrección the only thing that can kill him is his own power which is kind of what happens. If he would have returned to normal form i think all the damage he took would have caught up to him and sent him the way of the dodo.
When I was younger, I used to think that Barragan's resurrection literally turned him into a lich, where in the jewel on his Zanpakuto became his phylactery and he wouldn't die until they destroyed that part.
I kinda like Zommari's resurreccion. Also I don't mind him going from being the fastest to stuck in place especially with such a dangerous ability. I like the ability to change tactics like that, "speed not working? Fine, I'll change my approach and take control of you then make YOU fight for me or I'll just make you stand still and take a point blank cero"
As somebody, who doesn't speak Spanish this name immediately caught my attention. I thought "there's no way this word means"cursed eye monk". I just assumed that Kubo made it up. But since he was disappointing anyways I didn't think much of it.

Are those translations cannon? I mean Murcielago is just Bat Tiburon is just Shark Arrogante is Arrogant Why the manga translated those names like Great Wing Demon and Imperial Shark Mistress, etc?
@cesarflores2760 Dunno, I wasn't going to comment on all of them because I don't know them all. He's using the source material, so the translations they are using must be canon in that sense, but most are not the correct English words. I think it's a case of taking the single relevant word as a theme and adding on to make it sound cooler. Maybe they don't expect a Western audience to actually check what the words actually mean.
Well I think Kubo just used the essence of the word and built a cool name around it. After all the German words don't really make sense as well with "Wahrwelt" literally meaning true world (combination of true and world), "Heiligpfeil" technically does mean holy arrow but is just the word for holy and the word for arrow cobbled together. (To be fair it would be difficult to create the word holy arrow as one word since the closest translation would be "Heiliger Pfeil", which are two words. "Heiligenpfeil" does actually not work as it would mean "arrow of the saint". Then there's "Letzt Stil" and this makes absolutely no sense as the word "letzt" doesn't exist. The forms would be letzter/letzte/letztes/letzten but not letzt. If you translate this flawed translation back to English it would roughly mean least trick/resort. That being said I can't think of any German phrase that would convey what "Letzt Stil" means in the context of the story. Lastly I would like to add that not everything is badly adapted as the word "Kaisergesang" is totally valid. I apologize for this long wall of text. - random German on the Internet
I think a number of the Espada were directly designed as dark reflections of a lot of the Gotei 13 Captains. Stark and Lilinette are Kenpachi and Yachiru, Barragan would be Yamamoto and so on. In fact, I'd wager that most of the Captains faced down their own reflections, like Hitsugaya and Sui-Feng.
The espada are so cool. I wish we could get a what if scenario where they go to war with the quincies. I know the espada would lose but I’d like a gauntlet scenario. How close could they get, if they had all the members they had before soul society destroyed their main force.
I feel like Starkk, Barrigan, and Halibel are the most likely to be able to obtain a segunda etapa, especially Starkk, but the ones that I would really like to see obtain segunda etapa would be Grimmjow and/or Nelliel.
Ulquiorra's Segunda is not hidden from Aizen, he only says he has not shown in to Aizen or that Aizen has not seen it. Aizen most certainly knows about it.
In the anime I remember *hearing* a difference between unreleased and released sonido from zommari, which if anything else I believe shows how much he trained his new legs
45:15- While the 1st release feels more like his refined persona, it retroactively should've never existed- with the demonic, nightmarish form being his only release likely leading to a greater impact and a more streamlined story. It's a design that fits the inner darkness of the character. It is truly bestial- not the Grimmjow's posturing of a raging beast, actual beasts are unpredictable, silent, and prone to sudden actions of brutality, which is also captured initially with Ayon, the Holow Chimera before he went goofy. But with Ulquiorra, it is his robotic nature combined with the ruthless of a nightmarish animal that only falls in the face of the even more demonic and humanoid Vasto Lorde Ichigo.
If it wasn't so far out there I'd felt like Stark has a soul king soul and that premier loneliness he feels is part of the soaking just being alone at the top
52:34- Going in, I thought he'd turn into a dinosaur like a T-Rex, Triceratops, etc. as his minions gradually get a prehistoric motif to be slightly unique while ultimately forgettable...but him turning into a lich with fitting powers of decay with a cool axe and crown on top of being the former ruler of Hueco Mundo, made him one of the Espada that embodies the darkness of Hueco Mundo much like Ulquiorra. It is a regal humanoid- literally a human skeleton in robes yet innately otherworldly compared to the much more grounded, modern designs of the other Espada. It's really Kubo limiting him and remembering that Aizen has to be the bigger threat that ultimately undermines him as much as hubris.
Rukia really defeated a single numbered espada when she was still not even a vice captain, whereas some other lieutenant can’t even defeat a fraccion. Hell, she even defeated a sternritter at the release of her bankai. Sometimes I forgot bleach really undermines her achievements, it was really no brainer that she was the perfect captain candidate
Weird question, but assuming they were to ever meet, does anyone think it would be possible for Harribel to manipulate the water of Tenjiro's hot springs? I'm just imagining Tenjiro bringing down a torrent of White Bone Hell water on her, but then she uses Cascada to send the White Bone Hell water back to Tenjiro. Come to think of it: VS Battle idea: Harribel vs Tenjiro

That's impossible. We already have a backstory for ulquiorra in one of the databooks and his og design heavily resembles his 1st release.

I think Zommari is inside a lotus rather than a pumpkin if we are to believe his beyond resurreccion form from BBS. It does make more sense with the lotus, theme of love, and control; essentially a substitute for someone enamored. The gaze of a person upon someone who they become bewitched and the lotus and it's ties to the kama sutra just feels like it all goes into place.

Barragan is not only my favorite espada, but also has my favorite resurrección. Design wise he looks like a grim reaper wearing a crown 👑 and wielding a nasty battle axe instead of scythe.

Ulquiorra’s Segunda Etapa is my favorite character design in all of bleach and one of my favorites in all of anime/manga.
A lot of people often used respira as argument on why barragan should be primera. While starrk have a lot of cool and powerful ability, they don’t really compare to a literal death touch.
But i think it’s by design. Barragan like to show off. He enjoy having an imposing presence and make people cower in fear before the might of the king of hollow. Starrk is way more low key and might seem underwhelming at first until you really think about it and realize how insane each of his ability are.
Plus Starkk can rapid fire Ceros from a safe distance, and I don’t think Barragan can decay Cero before turning into swiss cheese. Even solidified Reyatsu took him so much time to decay Soi Fong could fire a missile against him.
24:01- Szayel's letiny of powers and nearly humanoid form probably hinted he was previously a Vasto Lorde class that lost his power, if the more base humanoid form compared to the other lesser Espada gave any indication.
Some of the novels explore his past - he was a Vasto Lorde & the original Cero Espada, but split off Ylfordt (his brother in life & one of the Hollows he devoured when becoming a Menos), which left both of them at the Adjuchas level iirc. He gets an evil clone named Cien thanks to a spider Arrancar (the doctor Yammy killed, turns out she can reform herself & accidentally brings Cien into existence too). Info may not be 100% because I've only read summaries

Grimmjow is by far my favorite Espada and his Release is everything i expected of him. No pomp, no flash, ALL FIGHT. Sleek, simple, brutal, kill or be killed.
He should absolutely get a Segunda and it should focus on speed as befitting the brutal panther king.
15:51- I think the best way to make Yammy relevant would be to condense that form into a more compact humanoid that would boost greater power instead of turning into an ever-elaborating array of Kaiju forms. Maybe him showing up with a defeated Byakuya and Zaraki in his arms just as Aizen is seemingly defeated and Ichigo has seemingly won, would've been a greater payoff to why the character stuck around- maybe having him then one-shot by the Zero Squad to hype them up retroactively.

I'm pretty sure Cirucci discarding parts of her resurrection is a permanent change. In CFYOW, she mentions that Mayuri was able to fix it, which wouldn't make sense if it was just for that battle
Ressureccion are supposed to be like Bankai in that regard (and others), so it'd make sense Mayuri would be able to restore her. But yeah, it's pretty explicitly a permanent change, not sure why there'd be confusion about that

Honestly I think Wonderweiss being the 0 Espada would have been better we always knew he was on their level anyway and he was definitely a special weapon. Yammy still ended up being a brute who got clapped (off screen at that) so there was no point in the rank change

37:59- While it appears like a cosmetic change like the normal Arrancar and a hint he used to be a runt that got in the Espada by his toughness and ruthless pragmatism, the design is much more strealimed and fits the design of a raging, horned ashura than the bulky, overdesigned look of the normal Arrancar. It fits him well as one of the conventionally top 5 Espada- being much more humanoid than the bestial lower 5, but not as inherently regal as the top 4. Plus the multiple scythes, regeneration, and hidden arms fits with his merciless and brutal fighting style.
36:26- Grimmjow's release captures the feral and brawler nature of the character while giving a hint why Luppi was never a true Espada and why Aaroniero remained by technicality- it's a streamlined, humanoid version of his base form rather than a cosmetic addition. His form had a lot of powers, but the form was simple- a long-haired cat warrior. It left the groundwork for the remaining Espada to have much more elaborate designs going forward.

Hell, as mentioned in another video, halibel was just mostly used to convey how stronk this new faction of enemies are, by how much they subjegated her... He was admittedly badass, and as you said he rly didn't even need a redesign. 7, 5, 0/10, 3,9, old 3, the previous ones in this video, 1 (most likely to get a hell arc redesign if I'm being honest here), 4, 6, and 2 (kindof odd that all the even numbered espada aside from yammy have designs that still hold up but I digress) in that order.... Could use an upgrade.

@@drakon8609 thats all we really have is the thing. is appearances. no one really ever uses very many abilities in Bleach and sticks to a limited few of them.
Ulquiorra’s always stood out. The explosion of reiatsu that rains on Ichigo to reveal these great black wings with the white gown. It’s reverent and gothic at the same time, hinting at the dark power brewing underneath. Then we see his Segunda Etapa, where Ulquiorra is swallowed up in a tidal wave of black reiatsu only to then rip the curtain back and reveal a demon as is his Resurrección’s name. Whereas all the other Hollows and Arrancar’s Release forms are stark white, Ulquiorra is black as night. He resembles a Holllow, but not any Hollow we’ve ever seen. It’s absolutely badass.
Barragan’s is also very dark (dark blue and black) with little white. This proves that the darker the design the cooler the arrancar resurrección.
It's pretty cool that the Espadas were to me, more heavily physically transformed by their interaction with their "Zanpakto".
That was really cool to watch. Finally someone giving even the "lesser" espada the time of day. Thanks for that.
24:01- The anime portrays like like a gray cloud with a pink aura gradually forming into a solid form, which is somewhat ethereal- which fits Szayel's massive ego.
However, the manga perfectly captures his hypocrisy- Nemu spits out which is essentially a parasite with a mouth before vomiting out the complete form in a ghastly manner while Szayel pretends to see it as a divine act of perfection, which is infuriating to the reader and to Mayuri for someone being that shallow minded to not seek out alternative means- not of moral reasons (Mayuri is far too unscurlplous for that), but due to not adhering to the scientist role- having it take backstage for his theatrical posturing. And he's not done in by superior raw power, but his own powers and hubris blinding him to the potential threat of his enemies.
On the whole, Szayel is pretty on the first glance with his dolls even being cute, but looking deeper, you see the disgusting and revoluting madness and monstrosity of the person- with his seemingly angelic form hiding its grotesque truth.
6:25- This is what I feel differs the normal Arrancar and the Espada- the former get bizarre cosmetic changes- almost like costume props while remaining largely the same while the latter their former is essentially a streamlined version of their Hollow forms, being entirely different attire changes- more humanoid or bestial depending on the Espada. Aaroniero is the exception, but his ability makes up for it.

For my favorites, it's a tie between Pantera and Murciélago. Pantera was awesome, and the music accompanying it in the Anime was badass. But Murciélago was horrifying, haunting and traumatized me greatly.
Right behind them is Santa Teresa, only because it's release in the Anime is one of the hypest moments of all times, and always sends a chill down my spine.

I feel like Stark has a Segunda Etapa that he goes out of his way to avoid using. He is shown to dread his power because it isolates him and he wants to be around others. So I would love to see what his Segunda Etapa is. What is this full true power is that stark has which is so powerful that it can literally keep everyone including all the other espada away from him without him having to even put in effort

Cool question! What do you think the Vizard Resurrección could be? We saw Tōsen achieve it in his fight with Komamura, and Tite Kubo even stated on Klub Outside that it was possible for all Vizards to do it given enough time and training.
Cirucci may have shed part of hers in the past (potentially why she was kicked out because it may have been seen as a weakness) potentially a weapon related to the golden disks on her shoulders
Personally I love grimmjows ressurrecion, it's fitting for ichigos rival to have a clad type power as well!
For what I think could work for a design for nel would be a simple design giving her centaur body wings and making her body more Valkyrie like but the biggest change would come in her abilities first she would be able to multiple items for various different purposes like shields binoculars swords etc to give her a wide array of offensive and defensive options and the ability to produce a light that can negate abilities stop or even kill a target based on how nel feels about the target if the target is hurting her friends it goes to full power

For Number 9 - wasnt it said, that when you become an Arrancar, eg if your Mask breaks you cannot evolve into higher "forms"? So it makes sense, that he stays a Gillian even after having an Hollow All you can Eat.
I feel with 5:40 many may be overlooking an additional set of options. Let's not forget that, like reapers, hollows are spiritual beings so spiritual explanations are an option. So what if it's only temporary in a physical sense, but permanent in a spiritual sense. Like what if the parts are imbued with a part of who she is which she loses when she cast them off, but she can replace them by partitioning off another part of who she is?

I just realized how much Kubo really foreshadowed future plot points with the espada. #105 said once they remove a part of their Resurreccion it will never go back to it's original form, later we learn damaged Bankai will never fully heal like in the case of Ikkaku. Stark was so powerful he split his power and created a new sentient child like female being that was as strong as an espada subordinate and needed to resorb her to become complete again, later it is revealed that Kenny also unconsciously created his own sentient child like female being that was as strong as a lieutenant Yachiru and had to "re-absorb" her to use his full strength. Honestly the more I rewatch the series and watch TH-cam videos about Bleach I realized alot of the stuff people complained about Kubo's ass pulling was stuff he hinted at a very long time
I realized this awhile ago but I’m so glad for the new anime for including new things and adding more depth to the TYBW arc bc a lot of the the fights with the sternritter are just rehashes of fights with better versions of these guys. Think about it. Byakuya fights again against someone whose better at controlling someone and their abilities fully, under the guise of love. Byakuya and kenpachi both end up fighting together against an enemy that grows gigantic and that can “evolve” as he gets damaged. Toshiro ends up joining them and also ends up in a 3v1 against an opponent. Shunsui fights against an opponent that ends up splitting itself in some way with an ally that has some way of “reflecting” the enemy’s spiritual power. Shunsui also fights against the gun users again. Soi fon ends up fighting alongside her vice captain and using her bankai that ends up not destroying the opponent and seemingly doing very little, despite it being a nuke. Rukia has to fight against an opponent that uses her own fears and insecurities against her again. Mayuri ends up fighting against the opponents that are essentially immortal. Yama fights against the big bad but low see a bc the opponent just uses his brain and goes into the fight with a plan that specifically outsmarts him, bc no one can beat him in a fair 1 vs 1 scenario. And isane seemingly does nothing.
Syzaelaporro is the most interesting to me. We had him as Cien Franz in the novels and now in the Hell arc as well. Kubo seems to be trying to pull something here.
Mayuri better starts upgrading his bankai before facing his nemesis once again in hell.
I'm curious as to how becoming an arancar makes you stronger? Because it seals parts of their power, and its said they have access to shinigami like powers but they don't use like kido for example so does it allow their blades to have powers themselves like a shinigami like if harribel wasn't an arrancar she wouldn't be able to control water?

I think Baraggan is one of the cases of, he is his own weakness. I believe after the soifon hit it kind of hints at while he is in his Resurrección the only thing that can kill him is his own power which is kind of what happens. If he would have returned to normal form i think all the damage he took would have caught up to him and sent him the way of the dodo.
Barragan and Stark having segunda etapa would be dope, but Ulq has my vote for best transformation among the Espada
I always considered Suruchis and Uryu's encounter as a date. And they fit together as a couple. Both are stubborn and prideful in their own way.
The spokes sticking out of Yammy's elbows and back resemble the ones that protude from Kensei when he's fully Hollowfied in Turn Back the Pendulum.

When I was younger, I used to think that Barragan's resurrection literally turned him into a lich, where in the jewel on his Zanpakuto became his phylactery and he wouldn't die until they destroyed that part.
I kinda like Zommari's resurreccion. Also I don't mind him going from being the fastest to stuck in place especially with such a dangerous ability. I like the ability to change tactics like that, "speed not working? Fine, I'll change my approach and take control of you then make YOU fight for me or I'll just make you stand still and take a point blank cero"

As somebody, who doesn't speak Spanish this name immediately caught my attention. I thought "there's no way this word means"cursed eye monk". I just assumed that Kubo made it up. But since he was disappointing anyways I didn't think much of it.

@cesarflores2760 Dunno, I wasn't going to comment on all of them because I don't know them all. He's using the source material, so the translations they are using must be canon in that sense, but most are not the correct English words.
I think it's a case of taking the single relevant word as a theme and adding on to make it sound cooler.
Maybe they don't expect a Western audience to actually check what the words actually mean.
Well I think Kubo just used the essence of the word and built a cool name around it. After all the German words don't really make sense as well with "Wahrwelt" literally meaning true world (combination of true and world), "Heiligpfeil" technically does mean holy arrow but is just the word for holy and the word for arrow cobbled together. (To be fair it would be difficult to create the word holy arrow as one word since the closest translation would be "Heiliger Pfeil", which are two words. "Heiligenpfeil" does actually not work as it would mean "arrow of the saint". Then there's "Letzt Stil" and this makes absolutely no sense as the word "letzt" doesn't exist. The forms would be letzter/letzte/letztes/letzten but not letzt. If you translate this flawed translation back to English it would roughly mean least trick/resort. That being said I can't think of any German phrase that would convey what "Letzt Stil" means in the context of the story. Lastly I would like to add that not everything is badly adapted as the word "Kaisergesang" is totally valid.

I think a number of the Espada were directly designed as dark reflections of a lot of the Gotei 13 Captains. Stark and Lilinette are Kenpachi and Yachiru, Barragan would be Yamamoto and so on. In fact, I'd wager that most of the Captains faced down their own reflections, like Hitsugaya and Sui-Feng.
The espada are so cool. I wish we could get a what if scenario where they go to war with the quincies. I know the espada would lose but I’d like a gauntlet scenario. How close could they get, if they had all the members they had before soul society destroyed their main force.
There's a lot of Arrancar I'd forgotten about.
I feel like Starkk, Barrigan, and Halibel are the most likely to be able to obtain a segunda etapa, especially Starkk, but the ones that I would really like to see obtain segunda etapa would be Grimmjow and/or Nelliel.

In the anime I remember *hearing* a difference between unreleased and released sonido from zommari, which if anything else I believe shows how much he trained his new legs
45:15- While the 1st release feels more like his refined persona, it retroactively should've never existed- with the demonic, nightmarish form being his only release likely leading to a greater impact and a more streamlined story. It's a design that fits the inner darkness of the character.
It is truly bestial- not the Grimmjow's posturing of a raging beast, actual beasts are unpredictable, silent, and prone to sudden actions of brutality, which is also captured initially with Ayon, the Holow Chimera before he went goofy. But with Ulquiorra, it is his robotic nature combined with the ruthless of a nightmarish animal that only falls in the face of the even more demonic and humanoid Vasto Lorde Ichigo.
I'd like to see Barragan's Respira and Gojo's Limitless have a picnic.

If it wasn't so far out there I'd felt like Stark has a soul king soul and that premier loneliness he feels is part of the soaking just being alone at the top
52:34- Going in, I thought he'd turn into a dinosaur like a T-Rex, Triceratops, etc. as his minions gradually get a prehistoric motif to be slightly unique while ultimately forgettable...but him turning into a lich with fitting powers of decay with a cool axe and crown on top of being the former ruler of Hueco Mundo, made him one of the Espada that embodies the darkness of Hueco Mundo much like Ulquiorra. It is a regal humanoid- literally a human skeleton in robes yet innately otherworldly compared to the much more grounded, modern designs of the other Espada.
It's really Kubo limiting him and remembering that Aizen has to be the bigger threat that ultimately undermines him as much as hubris.
Rukia really defeated a single numbered espada when she was still not even a vice captain, whereas some other lieutenant can’t even defeat a fraccion. Hell, she even defeated a sternritter at the release of her bankai. Sometimes I forgot bleach really undermines her achievements, it was really no brainer that she was the perfect captain candidate
Resurreccion is a really cool power-up. I hope we get to see some new Segunda Etapa’s in the Hell arc!
Weird question, but assuming they were to ever meet, does anyone think it would be possible for Harribel to manipulate the water of Tenjiro's hot springs? I'm just imagining Tenjiro bringing down a torrent of White Bone Hell water on her, but then she uses Cascada to send the White Bone Hell water back to Tenjiro.
