Nice man! The sport+ mode is definitely appealing, but the way gas prices are nowadays the eco mode would really come in handy. Can’t wait for the 3-4 month review!
I recommend trying out the Banks Pedal Monster because the Banks Pedal Monster is the only throttle booster that turns off when you put the vehicle in reverse which is A much safer option.
@@titorivera2349 I actually have the Pedal Commander now on my Tacoma. I did a review on my channel. Will be doing my honest update review soon. And will let everyone know if I still want the Pedal Monster.
A user of throttle controllers faces a dilemma because the settings should be set before driving. Imagine fiddling with the setting choices while driving. I purchased the other major brand and, like you say, the feeling of acceleration is clearly enhanced (touchy). With time, you get accustomed to each setting and adjust your peddle pressure. My gas mileage has significantly decreased, but my 21 Tacoma is now behaving like I expected. Lots of fun.
Just installed on my 2022 Tacoma and have a check engine light. Took truck for a drive and it worked great but I don’t like check engine light. Now time to research
You probably didn’t wait long enough for the electronic system to shut down. Try opening your door leaving it for 10 minutes then unplugging it and doing the same thing again while leaving your door open for 10 minutes.
Hi, I recently added a leveling kit for my Tacoma sport 22 and it feels kind of force every time I press the Gas pedal. I was wondering if this can help me ?
Any special advice on new installation on Tacoma... I saw where one guy placed his keys a distance from the truck. Can I install cold right off in the morning before I crank it up?? Thanks I appreciate you post and help
Thanks for the cool video Akram. What made you get this one over the Sprint Booster? Does the eco mode make the truck feel heavy with decreased power? Have you tested if it helps mileage?
Careful with that thing man they are really cool but my dad has the same truck and same exact pedal commander and actually had issues with the steering wheel turning to the left while he was trying to turn right, like it was resisting turning. So he unplugged it and hasn’t had the issue since. He looked it up and there’s also been other people having similar issues so just giving you a heads up man I enjoy your content I’m about to get a base model tacoma and am super excited!
How was the steering affected? Does his model have lane centering or some automatic steering adjustment while driving? All Tacomas are hydraulic steering, so it shouldn’t affect the steering unless the vehicle has some form of electronic steering assist.
You are likely exceeding the 5 volts available to the drive by wire system, all the pedal controllers run off the same 5 volts as the drive by wire system uses but here is the catch the drive by wire on its own uses 4.7 to 4.8 of the available 5 volts. Add in a Pedal Commander or other brand and you can easily exceed the 5 volts. Only Banks PedalMonster avoids this issue because his system uses 12 volts supplied from the OBDII port, this opens up a lot of information for his PedalMonster that is not available to Pedal Commander, SpeedBoost and the others. Banks PedalMonster even knows what gear you are in and when you go into reverse it reverts back to the stock program so your throttle is not an issue when backing up to a trailer. The Banks PedalMonster also has fail safes built into it so if it detects an issue it will revert back to stock programming avoiding the dreaded dead pedal issue that Pedal Commander, SpeedBoost and the others suffer from. Go to the Banks site and you will the engineering Banks put into the PedalMonster that all the others are lacking.
That is because the drive by wire uses 4.7 to 4.8 volts of the available 5 votes supplied to the drive by wire system, that only leaves .2 to .3 of a volt to power the Pedal Commander, SpeedBoost or other pedal controls on the market. Banks PedalMonster is the only one that uses 12 volts avoiding the issues Pedal Commander, SpeedBoost and the others have over time. Go to the banks site and you will see the engineering Banks put into the PedalMonster, it really is the superior solution for pedal controllers.
I had one for my 21 Toyota Highlander worked for 3 months no prob then bam the unit messed up my vehicle loss of throttle and slew of lights came on dash brake codes check engine lights had to take it out the car it was fun while it lasted but not worth dying over because never know if you are going to loose throttle going hwy speeds thier customer service is horrible all email no number to call for information on warranty would not recommend it's messed up my 21 Highlander V6 when the unit malfunction
Banks PedalMonster avoids all of what you experienced. Go to Banks site and see the engineering he put into the PedalMonster and you will understand why your Pedal Commander failed. To put it simply it exceeded the available 5 volts of the drive by wire system it pulls its power from to power the Pedal Commander box. The stock drive by wire already uses 4.7 to 4.8 volts, now you add a Pedal Commander and boom you exceed the 5 volts supplied to the drive by wire system and you get lights and codes and the dreaded dead pedal. Banks solved all of that with his solution that is powered by the OBDII port and uses 12 volts to the PedalMonster leaving the 5 volts alone for the drive by wire system.
Honestly…just save your money and invest in a real deal tune. I can’t tell you how much people I know that had a pedal commander or other type of brands like it…that switched over to a tune and like it so much better (can do everything a pedal commander can do and much more). No issues with random CEL coming on
Banks PedalMonster is a far better solution, all the pedal controllers with the exception of the Banks Pedal Monster use the same 5 volts the drive by wire system uses to power their units. This is not good because the drive by wire by itself uses between 4.7 to 4.8 volts now add a Pedal Commander or SpeedBoost or other unit and you can exceed the 5 volts resulting in codes being thrown, the unit shorting out and possibly damaging your ECU and worse yet the dreaded dead pedal when you are pulling out in traffic or turning left in front of traffic. Banks PedalMonster does not power their unit from the drive by wires 5 volts, instead Banks PedalMonster is powered from the OBDII port using 12 volts, it also has access to more information and knows what gear you are in. Go to the banks site and you will see the engineering Banks put into their PedalMonster that Pedal Commander, SpeedBoost and the others did not do.
I love all the work you do on your Tacoma. Keeping us all up to date and making my dream list of mods bigger and bigger.

The pedal commander is one of the best mods for a Toyota Tacoma!
My pops just got the OTT tune on his 17 Tacoma and it’s INCREDIBLE dude. Look in to it. Lot of people saying it’s better than the KD and OV
Where did you get the ott tune?
I have the Sprint Booster, it's the original and made in the U.S.A. It's also more compact than the Pedal Commander, which is made in Turkey.
I really appreciate all of your videos! I need to get this for my taco
I recommend trying out the Banks Pedal Monster because the Banks Pedal Monster is the only throttle booster that turns off when you put the vehicle in reverse which is A much safer option.
This sounds much better tbh. Sucks you need these though but only because I wish it was standard.

I put one on my Super Duty Godzilla. It made a night and day difference. I am sold on the Banks Pedal Monster.
Another great video brother! Awesome smile been watching all your videos. See you on the next one
causes your truck to light up like a christmas tree after a while
Been thinking about getting one . Great video.
Try in in eco let me know how much mpg can u get with it
Boosts it really well! Up to 17-20 with mud terrains and 3” lift

@@TheUnrestricted thanks for reply. I had driver door open for 15 to 30 min with key in room as far away from garage as I could before I installed.
@@jlstock_1 same here it's not working I'm about to throw it in the trash
@@warnerjames8195 that’s too bad. Mine works great. I had a check engine light only for a day and that cleared up on its own.
Looking forward to a more in-depth review!
After plenty of research I've done it seems a tune is the way to go...but if this works for you... congrats 👏

I'm about to leave it sport+ +4😂😂
🤣 too touchy
Lol, thats cool. I can tell it's working by that big ass grin on your face lol.

I did exactly that and I have a ton of alarm badges going off what didn't you show

I gotta ask. What side is your steering wheel on ? Looks like your driving a Tacoma from Merry Ol England.😂
front camera reverses the video lol
IMO tuning is better than pedal commander
How much is a tune and will a tune have a chance at voiding your warranty?
My pedal commander died after 4 years. Lost all throttle and brake override system on the freeway.
wow thats not good!!!

My new 2023 Tacoma TRD Sport has a great pedal. Did Toyota change something?
I also have a 2023 Tacoma TRD Sport (manual transmission) and have no issues with the pedal. Seems to give me a quick response.
Did your truck ever go into limp mode because of this?
Fog lights ever back in stock?
Did you notice any change in mpg?
👍
