    The best oil is the one that doesn't leave the crank & bearings dry as a POPCORN FART.

    Lol. I just commented on another of your videos "I've run Redline...never smoke a cylinder..."
    In the context of this conversation, I run my 2 smokes like parts are cheap and labor is free because I mechanic my own stuff. I had it all apart as well as other people's burnt toys. For ME, Redline burns clean, keeps a film on everything, doesn't evaporate, mixes well and stays mixed and doesn't cause hp loss like some oils I've tried.
    I enjoy your frank presentation.

      Redline is the best 2T oil on the market I use it in all of my 2T engines and all of them are clean as a whistle inside and have a nice oily film on them.

    Wow, I've been waiting your videos for the last few days now....and I'm seriously considering switching oil, I've been running ultra all summer and fall in my new string trimmer and saw. I've always run the orange bottle for years but when I bought my new trimmer the dealer said to run the ultra!

    A lot of people don’t realize that STIHL Ultra is only rated Jaso FB and not the better FC or better yet FD, so that tells you it isn’t as clean.

    I would like to ad that when you start your saw from cold, just let it idle and come up to temperature for a bit, if its cold outside especially. If you just start your saw and start hammering on the gas as soon as it runs bad things happen.

    Loving your hp ultra talks! For years I ran husky and vp canned fuel. the last 2 years, I ran 100ll avgas with opti-2 or amsoil saber at 45:1 . Then I saw another TH-cam channel showing what they called the "peanut test" with styrofoam packaging peanuts and multiple fuels! After that demonstration, I just had to get some motomix and "peanut test" it against all of my fuels. Motomix was the only one to not dissolve the ghost turd! I went ahead and added 10.3ml of hp ultra to the gallon of motomix, to make myself feel better about using it. But honestly I'm kinda thinking about using it full time; with oil added to make it 40-44:1, as I typically go through less than 5 gallons of mix gas a year and have 20+ pieces of 2 cycle equipment. Some of which may sit unused for the better part of a year. Still unsure but definitely looking forward to your testing👍

    • @1u5t1n
      @1u5t1n 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the equipment sits around, you're better off with motomix. No carb or fuel lines issues.
      Just my opinion.

      It lingers to long and its sticky . Soy been oil actually makes more lubricant molecules the hotter it get. It's crazy good oil but won't burn off, its gummy. I've ran it for a year and when I switched back to my quicksilver I could feel a difference on the trigger. It was weird.

    Nice video Richard. I'm sticking to my quicksilver /murcery line of oil. No problem yet. All at 32:1. I only run any 2smoke at 32;1. I like your videos... I have light carbon on top piston, cylinder walls have oil sheen along with exhaust port upper and side walls of port.

      That's in my 545 husky I use alot. So the way that autotune meters fuel/air its spot on probably more on the lean side of things and that oil sticks in there, I've tried other oils in the past, I settled on a oil I didn't want to order all the time, I use to get the full synthetic quicksilver oil from Walmart its 50 bucks a gallon that was good clean burning stuff, but now I run the standard quicksilver (red label) it's a lil more carbon but whatever.lol. it's still coating shine on the walls and exhaust port. When the Democrats get out of office the full synthetic will be back in the stores and I'll run it again. Like rotella from shell it's hard to find that anywhere here in fla.

He runs Castrol/ stihl hp, I'm sure it's good at 32:1 is the sweet spot for all 2 smokes imho. 50;1 is to make the EPA happy. If they weren't around I guarentee all manufacturers would say 32:1.

    So I just bought a case of belray h1r because of a recommendation. That is also an Ester base oil, from my understanding. I fall trees all day for our logging operation. My saws run hard! Would you recommend this oil and at what ratio? I'm running it in stihl 462s and makita 7900s. Thanks!

    Yes you opened a can of worms. I have responded earlier about two stroke oil. I see problems,in the way equipment is used also. Most of it is in the way it is operated. I find that most people ( do not ) run their equipment wide open for Long periods of time. They are on and off of the throttle, also carburetor is not adjusted right. Fule mix is all over the board.

    The 40:1 vs 50:1 or even 32:1 in big milling saws….Ratios greater than 50:1 are only required if you run an oil that doesn’t perform well. I’ll save you a ton of research, Red Armor, Blue Marble, Husky XP, or Dominator can all run at 50:1 with zero issues and be whistle clean.

    • @1u5t1n
      @1u5t1n 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use mobil1 at 32:1 and it's clean. Husqy xp at 40:1 is a mess, carbon central.
      If I'd decide to run mobil at Husqy's ratio, that cylinder would be cleaner than my dentist's joint.
      Now, if someone wants to tell me that Husqy xp is a better oil than mobil1 2t racing, please do.

    I’m about to send my saw to Kevin from ope forum to get ported. 661 that runs a 36” bar exclusively. I have a few lame falling videos on my channel and some about square grinding and making HEXA chain What oil and mix should I use?? He likes 32:1 red armor, saber, dominator. Something to add. Most people don’t tune there’s saws correctly. Most run a really rich saw which will cause it to gum up or they are to lean.

    • @richardflagg3084
      @richardflagg3084  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All of those oils will do a fine job. Mtronic will tune it just fine in a handful of cuts. Run it like ya' stole it! Kevin does top notch work.

    • @mrxlh
      @mrxlh 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      M-tronics /auto tunes hate most saw porters richer mixtures, it was the main reason someone went through huge lengths at lean testing tons of oils.

    • @mrxlh
      @mrxlh 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I will also add there is a reason why Kevin likes those 3 oils. I personally run Dominator but at 45:1 but none of my saws are ported yet.

    • @richardflagg3084
      @richardflagg3084  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mrxlh I've never had an issue running traditional carburetor or AT/MT saws at 40:1 in my own saws or anyone else's ported saws. I think the jist of what these oil conversations I've started shows that an additional HALF an ounce PER gallon gives a little more film strength in the crankcase. I 'll get some real world results going this week. Hope you stick around for it.

    I don’t think Ultra is a crappy oil. My complaint is it is a filthy oil, IMHO. It just use to much ash as a lubricant. It is also a 20 year old oil and only meeting the .JASO FB specification. The current JASO spec is FD. Even when you use Ultra wide open it will still dump ash all over the muffler area of the saw, more if you do not run it wide open all the time. The only piece of equipment that I run wide open “most” of the time is my Husqvarna 25B blower. The rest are on and off throttle.
