just scooped myself a old Columbus forestry division 200t just as clean as this one. wanting to go thru it and replace some things but i'm trying to find the right OEM part numbers for ignition coil and carb. thx
Great videos Richard very informative and thorough. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience
Rich nicely done ❤❤❤
Turd: polished.
Clean after each use, good mix oil, sharp chain and a few minute warm up. It will last forever and start as designed Storage, clean, fog engine until it stalls, pull plug put another shot or two of fogging oil in. Pull starter slowly a few times. Remove syphon any gas in tank and fuel lines. Install plug. You can either empty the oil tank or leave it full, no in-between. Cover it and tuck it in to bed!
I prefer husky
$800 in parts plus labor? Are new saws going for ???
Another use for seafoam. I know folks hate on it but it’s a wonderful product.
Premium Entertainment ! Quality Educational Value ! I also have a Stihl 056 AV Super Electronic.
Hey Richard, if that was economically viable for the customer....your rates are wayyyyy tooo cheap🤣🤣👍
Parts bill was around $450ish and an hour or so worth of labor. Expensive, yes. Replacement cost is $1400+. It's a case by case basis where the pressure point makes sense. There are times I recommend a new saw.
Perhaps (4-stroke) Moto-Mix mixed 32-1 with a preferred *bike oil* or Red Armor?
Thanks Richard! Do you like the 462 better than the 461?
Both are great saws. The 462 is definitely lighter and has better antivibe. The 461 has a little more grunt and built like a tank.
Looks like bro was using used motor oil for chain oil😂😂
sounds good and looks great considering 😂 just put an oem top end on my 046AV after I got the numbers right
Flagg the miracle mechanic.
Lol!
Sweet
Have a 201 where the air filter was not seated properly. It injected crap. Will start and run at full throttle. Was told to throw it in the garbage. Have you ever taken the guts apart? Have a link to a vid. Maybe. I don't believe it's game over, thanks,
Without knowing if it's just dirt ingestion, it's hard to say. A thorough diagnosis to pinpoint what parts have failed makes the option to rebuild or not more clear. They are not too terribly difficult to rebuild. Use the search feature on my home page and type in "201". There's several rebuild videos.
greetings, respected master... what do you think is the best to buy for a collection of home chainsaws, I already have a husqvarna 372 x-torq and 572xp but I don't have anything from stihl.. between the 400 and 462 which is better in design and build quality, I was thinking of the 500i but I read on the forums that it consumes too much fuel and plus I am a big fan of the strato design of the 2t engine.
Great job
Good one, Richard! Nice to see you.
Thank you!
Nice job Rich! Good looking saw.
That one polished out pretty well👍🏻
I hope u all recovered from that nasty flood u had, not that while ago? Richard what chef's and chainsaw mechanics have in common? 🤔
Good Morning from Western Washington, agreed, half the work fixing the saws is cleaning them up,some saws ive worked on had so much mud around the seals, i think the gunk was sealing the crank, gonna try the Seafoam trick, Thumbs up, great video
Lookin' Purty!
Looks respectable, and it will cut. Nicely done!
I like the Lip 💋 Stick on a Pig 🐖. My Dad used to say we have to Polish This Turd 💩
😎
Love these 'lipstick-on-a-pig' videos. That's a far cry from the way it came in. Some guys definitely beat the crap out of their saws. 🙃Nice work sir!
Nice Job Richard 😮😊
👍👍 looks good! Those Teflon wipes work great. Looks like a clear coat. Hold up to gas well, stays put for along time.
"Make it like new" is my least favorite thing to hear from a customer because a lot of times the customer "new" and technician "new" are not always the same.
I won't repeat exactly what I told him but you're spot on.
Looks good, runs good! Whats not to like? A tarted up saw gives a guy a bit of pride of ownership. Hopefully buddy will try and make it last, not cheap to be doing this every six months. LOL
Thanks for the tip of using Seafome. I’ve had some good luck with tranny fluid. Thanks for sharing.
Rich nice restore ❤❤❤ That dolmar, people buy a saw for a small project, then benched in the garage, then sold at an estate sale or ebay. Sometimes you can find a gem 😊😊😊 Nice work 😂😂😂
Cheers from Croatia!!
First
Richard have you heard of Liqui Moly? Im running mostly their oil in my vehicles at the moment im really happy with it. Im currently trying the Liqui Moly 2T motorbike synth plus street racing oil, its recommened 100;1 im going at 50:1 fully synthetic FD rated tested in racing machines and suitable for the most extreme conditions.
Wow, for $800 and then labour, probably be cheaper to have a new saw sitting there? 😳🤔
Box O' parts was for several saws and some on hand inventory wear parts. Lol!
@ ah, I thought the $800 box was all for that 261
Congratulations on 11k👍🏻 Really is amazing how much abuse some saws can survive through! And that is one sweet Dolly!
YES
Nice to know I live(hendersonville) a little less than an hour from you, if I ever decide to pull the trigger on my 572 I know where to bring it to get it ported.
Glad to hear your channel is doing well Richard. It’s easy watching, light hearted and informative. Cheers!
Thank you!

Тысячи смотрят неужели трудно 🤝👍👍👍👍👍👍
Lipstick on the Pig, love it 😆 Richard just demonstrates how important is to look after your equipment, and do regular maintenance... Dolmar was build like a tank, it was made to last!
Good tip on the 261 oiler assembly.
Dolmar is cool! Congrats on 11k
Thank you!!
What’s your thoughts on ms261cm for fire wood cutting ?
Congrats on the new subs! love your channel!!! No shilling and thorough close ups. Great channel!
Great video. That 261 lives a hard life. The Sachs Dolmar is a beauty. I believe there was a 462 in the mix - perhaps that is coming soon to a video as well. Thanks for keeping these coming.
