You dont know much about rural usa then. Most of us still drive trucks that get 12mpg. Many parts of the usa count on older pickup trucks. Used truck prices are through the roof because new vehicles are too expensive, or not capable and maintainable enough for the job. A lot of companies are keeping their older fleet trucks arournd longer for just this reason. Same for farm and construction equipment. Only the big companies are able to afford all the new equipment

Agree with you guys. RaptoR is an awesome truck BUT for my $$, I’ll take the V6 Raptor. Not gonna say I’d never be jealous if a RaptoR pulled up next to me. But…that’s a LOT of $$ just to have bragging rights at the stop light.
I was in a V6 Raptor up in Flagstaff Arizona on a two lane road and the driver jumped on it and went to 96 mph and was hugging that long sweeping off camber mountain turn very nicely. Two guys in the back went sheet white in the face. That was a bit much for me but that Raptor was handling nicely with 4 grown men in it.
The V6 is awesome. It's more efficient, has a nice sound as well (I'm a big fan of 6 Cylinders like the M3, 911, Ford GT so on) and a twin turbo V6 is a pretty unique engine for a performance truck ^^
After chronic 'Cam Phaser' non-warranty $ repairs on our 2017... never again re: a ttV6. Our TRX has so far been far more reliable and zero issues from 'spirited' daily use (on/offroad). As long as you are deaf and don't have to listen to that horrible EcoBoost exhaust...otherwise it's a painful soundtrack.

Does the RaptoR need better brakes? Because if it's limited by the tires already I Don't see why you would care about better brakes. + That might be difficult, considering that Ceramics wouldn't work in a offroader.
I love the idea of the R. I’m on my second Raptor and might have considered one if they could be bought at MSRP but that isn’t going to happen in this day and age unfortunately

You can’t really give the people what they want. When the V6 Raptor came out people complained it wasn’t a V8 and now Ford has put the predator engine from the GT500 into the Raptor R, people saying they rather save the money and buy the V6 Raptor and suddenly giving it some compliments.

Only thing bugging me (may be a little OCD)..but everywhere they have the last R in raptor coloured in to symbolise the R version...on the tailgate, on the seats and the left rear arch But the right arch it's the first letter that's coloured in🤨. Which may match the location of the other side but that means from that side it's an R Raptor not a Raptor R.
The trx is about 700 pounds heavier, an inch wider, and has a slightly longer wheel base... yet for some reason, it drives smaller and tighter around town than Raptor R, according to Jonny Liberman during the Motortrend review... He says the R seems more big and school bus like on the road where the TRX feels more planted and nimble...

I think it’s the infrared light for the camera that makes sure your watching the road in auto drive mode. I think it’s only visible threw a camera not to the human eye but why is it on when not needed?
Yes! I agree. That's why I wanted a 2010 because it looks so much more beefier and the huge headlights, I love it. And tons of space behind that grill for a winch, or battery cables.
I guarantee there will be some dealers in canada with these for like $200k+, at that point it doesn't even compete with Ram TRX which at least has had more time to get more stock out there.

Depends on where you live. In Quebec, specially in Montreal, it's baha off road trails everywhere, if you're able to drive between contruction sites. And good luck finding an open bridge during nights and week-end to get off the island.
Not surprising at all. The Raptor R weighs around 500lbs less because of Ford's use of aluminum body panels. That's basically the entire gap in towing and payload.
@@PeakDecline if the raptor and the TRX were on the exact same chassis that would make sense. The 5.7L Ram 1500 can tow 12,750 and even the Durango manages 8700lbs so I was just surprised to see the full body TRX come up short.
@@S8ER It all comes down to the max tongue weight these softly suspended trucks can handle without too much weight transfer, which can otherwise cause a loss of steering stability. You need 10-15% trailer weight on the truck to keep it stable at high speeds so the max trailer weight is directly a result of max payload and the next limitation would probably be braking capabilty with the brakes already having to work so hard to slow down these much higher interia tires. Horsepower is not a problem.
The Raptor and Raptor R especially, destroys aTRX in an off-road Baja style setting which these trucks were created for. Lots of content online to show it as well.
Big deal. You show me one video of these two doing Baja racing and I'll show you a 1000 video of these things being raced on the street and in mud puddles. The TRX is better. Period

I have a 2023 Raptor and a 2023 S580. The Raptor is the best riding truck ever….really nice, but not quite as nice as the S-Class ride. It shouldn’t be, but it’s close.
So every reviewer keeps saying that the Raptor R's engine is the Predator from the GT500, but according to Jason (and the Ford engineers he talked to) over at Engineering Explained, the only parts the R's motor shares with the GT500's are the valves, and that actually this supercharged 5.2 is an otherwise totally different powerplant. What's going on?
Great video guys, but Remember the TRX rides on 35's which give better on road grip. The Raptor R is standard with 37's. It should be disadvantaged by lack of grip and wheel rotational speed, yet it just isn't . Hail the new King.

I disagree. The width of the Raptor looks so much more aggressive than a TRX and yeah the simplistic interior looks very luxurious. The TRX is cool but it’s got way too many buttons.

@Driver 637 the engine in the raptor isn’t from the gt350. Its from the gt500 which is basically a stroked coyote with slightly better internals.

What? Bigger tires give more grip, but more rotational mass, that is why they hurt the truck not because of less grip.
Plenty of TRX owners hitting under 4 sec with 37s if you have torque which the TRX has it won't hurt the times that much

I disagree. The width of the Raptor looks so much more aggressive than a TRX and yeah the simplistic interior looks very luxurious. The TRX is cool but it’s got way too many buttons.
