Hey Luke, this was a total eyeopener. My windows are clean clean clean, especially the inside where I would struggle with fog and streaks I now use the 50/50 on all my window surfaces in the house, and its brilliant. Thank you for the amazing content of your videos.

Thank you so much. Your video helped me out in ways you wont understand. I struggled with oily window streaks inside the car on the windscreen and when driving in the afternoon or early morning and the sun shown directly onto the widscreen it made it a nightmare to see. Tried using windowline or other window cleaners as you mentioned and they too didnt work. I definitely will subscribe to your videos after seeing for myself that this really does work. And using latex gloves helped prevent me from making other marks again while cleaning. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

Great video!! 👌 I know this is about car windows but You are the first person I have everrrrrrr say this about micro fiber towels! This is so true! I also have ladies who clean my home and they insist on dusting with micro towels but as you said once they have been used and washed a couple times all they do is leave behind fibers and dust.

Dude. You totally nailed this topic.
I've just watched about every relevant pro detailer that has a TH-cam channel and none of them talk about IPA as the prep degreaser. None of them. You were the only one. I had to specifically search for "degrease car window with IPA" in order to find this.
I've been looking for a better window cleaning solution, and it's been bugging me for the past few days... why we use IPA as a solvent to remove other oily residues, but I've never heard it recommended as a first step, or only step for cleaning oily films off windows. So, I searched TH-cam specifically for this and Bam! There's your video.
Thanks a bunch for confirming my intuition! Great content.

I had the WORST film on my inside windshield from defrost/auto body repair, and couldn't get the film off at all! made it so visibility in sun-glare was 0! Wilson's method was the key! follow the easy steps to the T... and you will not be disappointed!

I use both the Meguiars and the Invisible Glass. I have used the Invisible Glass for years and I prefer the Meguiars now. To me, it just makes the glass seem cleaner. I have to try the magic eraser trick. I have the haze that seems to show up the next morning after a detail. Here in FL. the windshields tend to haze fast! Thanks Luke...

In the past I have typically used water or water with some ammonia and for drying I would use newspaper. Newspaper has been really good for me as far as taking off streaks but… I still occasionally do have streaks. Thank you for your video, I am going to definitely try some of your suggestions.

So on some vehicles it can be a major issue. Some Ford trucks and particularly the 2017 Honda HRV. I recently was detailing a customers car the the isopropyl alcohol bleached the black dash gray. Luckily I have business insurance but it could have cost me around $2300 to fix it. Just be cautious and test on a small area of the dash first

Try this method for inner windshield. Mix up a solution of ONR and distilled water in a stainless steel mixing bowl. Dunk in a magic eraser. Squeeze out most of the liquid and wipe down glass. Then wipe off with a glass microfiber towel, then one more time with a new clean microfibre glass towel. The ONR really worked great.

Like your honesty about not having to go any farther than distilled water and alcohol if desired, as well as microfiber towels for glass instead of Huck towels. Do like the Huck towels however... Thx, new subscriber.

    !!!!!!!WARNING!!!!!!
Yes this is the best method I’ve ever used BUT
After using this method for the last 2 years with no issues, I had a big problem. I was detailing a 2017 Honda HRV and when I was cleaning the windows I got a little bit of overspray on the black dash and the isopropyl alcohol turned the dash light gray. The cost to fix this is around $2300. Luckily my insurance will cover some of it but still be careful with this method and test in a small area of the dash.

Crumpled newspaper and alcohol then glass cleaner from the dealership. Alcohol is an excellent cleaner and diluting it makes total sense! Thank you

The film inside of your windshield is not dirt, rather it is chemicals ooff-gassed from the plastics in your car. Cleaning the inside of the windshield needs something that can cut through the film and not hurt the dashboard. Apologies for posting thrice. I replied to someone but I can't find my reply.

Hey Wilson thanks for the videos.
I ve tried many glass cleaning products, stoner, alchimy7, meguiar... with a lot of good quality special glass microfiber using the 2 microfiber techniques, one to clean, one to dry. Despite this, absolutely every products made the windsheld and back rear window more foggy when the weather is bad. I gave up on using products and washed my car glass with water and newspaper for some month, it did the job quite good and the fog in winter was decent, it left quickly as usual with air conditioner, while when i was using stoner or other the fog took much more time to leave. Using water with a little bit of dishwash and vinegar gave good results too but the odor of vinegar annoyed me inside.
I watched many videos and tried the magic eraser, i didn't know it was that effective. I apply the magic eraser, clean with the mf and dry with another mf, i don't add other product and the result is satisfying. I repeat the process on all windows of my car with different mf outside and inside (windows, windshield, back rear).
Is it ok to use microfiber and magical eraser on rear windows (inside and outside) and on the 3 mirrors ? It seems until now i haven't scratched anything.
    Thanks man

Luke, have you ever tried using denatured alcohol instead of rubbing alcohol? It works really well too. Another area that seems to get neglected is that little area of glass that gets tucked up under the top of the window seal. Its usually only about 3/8" but it sometimes forms a line of crud between clean and dirty. I sometimes crack the window a bit and try to clean it away. Anyways, another great video. Have a great day...

Hey luke, I tried your method using the huck towels and no longer deal with lint, I went from using normal microfiber and even glass specific microfiber towels with a short nap and every single time I go to buff the windows it would leave tiny pieces of lint behind and almost gave up on it. I always wash the microfibers separately and leave to hang dry with same results time after time with lint on windows so thanks so much for introducing me to these huck towels. Do you also use the huck towels on outer windows?

Crazy right?! maybe it has something to do with using wax instead of window shine

Hey luke, its me again!! i was wondering if after using the distilled water alcohol solution to clean would it be a good idea to finish the inner windows with synthetic xwax to seal the windows so that they will be easier to clean next time?

So using a window cleaner such as Rain-X isn't really cleaning my windows? Would I be better off with using the alcohol/distilled water solution to clean off the oils and streaks for the interior and then finish it up with meguairs x-press spray wax for the inside of the windows? I was thinking for the exterior,I might try using a claybar and then use the x-press spray wax

Yes I would do exactly that actually!! Throw the rain x away!

Luke, what do you think about Maguires Glass cleaner (D12001) as a product? Do you think it’s a good product to use?

I hate doing windows. Mostly it’s because I don’t like the smell of any window cleaners.

What's the best way to care for the "Huck" towels?

Wash just like you would with anything! Actually I think the more you wash the better because hey soften up a little, and they’re not as stiff

What about cleaning windows that are tinted? Can we do the same as the outside?

Do not use Magic Eraser on tint.
