Andrew LaCivita Andrew, I feel I could use some help. I just graduated mechanical engineering bachelors and I'm trying to get a job. My linked in is @gauve.
I broke linked in iterating my profile to what I thought was perfect and was blocked for 6 hours. I have applied to plenty of LinkedIn jobs but haven't gotten any offers back. 😢
      Can I get some help.

Andrew LaCivita hi andy, you've got great contents here. Have a question for you.. i am intending to shift my career from project management (Mngmt role) to software dev. And i can say I am new to software dev and i would be as good as rank and file. What is your recommendation when they ask un the interview about my expected salary? My old role actually pays higher than this one im shifting in to. Thanks much and more power to your channel. 😊

Wow, if I were told in an interview I was too old, I'd prolly get up from my chair, politely say "I think we're done, I really appreciate your time & blah blah blah" as I stood up and shook their hands and wished them well in filling the position....and get the heck outta there! I mean why stay, it's pretty much over for me at that point! I'd NEVER want to work for a company like that! As always Andy, another GREAT video! And on to my next Andy video!

Well Mr. LaCivita....I watched soooo many of your video's...took notes and followed your guidance and I'm pleased to tell you I accepted a job offer today :-) Your 5 questions to ask the employer has been throwing some of the interviewers a real loop...making some squirm, but ultimately helped me determine who to say 'yes' to. Thank you for everything- you are an awesome person and I wish you so much success! I will definitely send anyone I know seeking a new job to your youtube and website!! God Bless you!!

Hi Andrew. I have lost the count how many times I watched your videos over and over again and everytime I enjoy them as much as the first time. I don't know whether you have a audio podcast of your videos or not but I would enjoy to listen them during my commute to work and back. It would also be great if you could divide the audio files to a shorter files based on the topic discussed during live hours so that listeners could listen to topics they are most interested in.

I have an audio podcast Aydin. Check out Tips for Work and Life. You can get it anywhere. The audio from the video in some of them are clipped out and shorter. :) You can also do what I do and listen to them on youtube in your car!

One point I would like to add to “the number of open positions compared to the number of employees a company had last year” is what my employer is doing- for every full-time worker who leaves or retires, two part-time positions open up. They want to save money by not paying for vacation, sick time, and insurance benefits. Unfortunately it is a growing trend in America.

Andrew, you are amazing. I am happy that I found your videos. I have applied to many positions and I got only one interview which will be on January. Do you have any advice for me? Is it possible to get hired with one interview only?

    • @andylacivita
      @andylacivita  7 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi there! Thanks for the kind words and lots of luck on the interview! There certainly is a possibility of getting hired in one interview, but I would be a little more concerned if you didn't have ample time to investigate the company. The more opportunities you have to investigate it, the better the decision you can make. Regarding additional insight, check out my entire job interview playlist on the youtube channel!!!

Hi Andrew thanks for such an informative session. I have an interview coming in 2 days for a trainee position. I know for sure that they will ask me a particular question because they ask it to all interviewees. The question is: Are you willing to work for the company for the next 2 years at least? This company is my dream company but I cant come up with an answer that holds credibility. I am thinking I'll tell them that if they think it is necessary I am ready to enter into a 2 year contract. Do you think it will work? Please advice!!

I appreciate the videos, but one thing that is getting to me a bit is that the sync of your voice and your lips is off. If someone typed the closed captions for you then that's off. Another thing specific about it too, is I notice yo take a sip of some liquid in that mug but the sound of that is way off. Just a tip I wanted to add. Content is nice, but it is something I don't find in many videos that does bug me.

    Thanks for the informatic video.
I can guess what the company feels like.
Employment is entry level, even without any exp.
Based on Review sites: 1 year contract employment, with renewal depending on performance.
It has 2 offices, one office and one warehouse.

On your last point are you saying that you should tell the interviewer in advance that you won't be able to dress as instructed (for whatever reason)....?? (I really couldn't understand you) If that's what you said... that seems like a weird and awkward thing to do/say.
