Looking forward to this session to learn additional methodologies for interviewing! Being in the job market within IT isn't very friendly currently! With AI screening applicants, this takes away from ethical and moral decision making in finding the right candidate, not so much for skillsets, but for the ability to collaborate, communication, and build trusting professional relationships.
Hi Andrew, your content has helped me succussfully get through the entire interviewing process with a company I would like to work for! I recently completed the final interview with the company. The next day, they emailed me and told me a did a job well done and that they should "have some good news for me soon". This week, they emailed me and informed me that they are in the process of interviewing another candidate and that they will give me another update next week. How do you suggest I navigate this scenario?
How do we adapt this salary negotiation for a backend position without direct revenue impact? As a product or Program Manager looking after APIs or infrastructure, for instance? TIA!😊
"How much money would you like to make?" - Let's have a conversation, and see how it goes, I'm sure that as we get to know each other the numbers will fall into place.
I find this advice helpful, but I’m struggling to find a way to use it for a non sales/revenue position. I am an instructional designer and work on a team.
It works for every position. It’s not specific to function types. If you design programs, you’re teaching employees something. What is it they need to learn? Are you accelerating their development so they can learn it faster and be more prepared when they start? On and on and then you go with the formula!
So true! I’ve had better luck with Contract roles. Seems like they hire young people for FTE, but older/experienced folks at higher rates, but shorter term roles.
The difficulty is many interviewers don’t actually know what they’re looking for 😢 also some interviewers don’t want and can’t follow along with big picture and unless you explain task, they don’t get it and think you’re talking nonsense
Hi, anyone came across this? I will have an interview soon and the person who is interviewing me has the "Open for job" logo in LinkedIn, should I mention that at the interview as part of will you be my line manager etc or what is your management style question so to somehow include it in that part of the conversation or just completely ignore it? Thanks
Hi fellas- just curious if anyone faced this kind of situation (unfortunately) before. After 5 rounds of interviews (including case presentation to the CXOs in the 4th round) I was told that I’m a ‘nice and decent’ person who may not lead the team with ‘iron hand’ despite me explaining that assertiveness should not reflect from your body language but from your intent. The company end up filling the role with an internal candidate. I felt sad knowing I failed to secure the job but also got confused why they kept interviewing me for that many rounds when they were unsure.🤔
people's rejection is god's protection. If you don't believe in god please understand that i just mean that sometimes it's jut not meant to be. An in this case, it sounds like it was a blessing to you that it wasn't. I've been in similar situations. In some, I ultimately was left seeing that there is work that I can do to improve future outcomes (like the interview experience that brought me here) and other times I felt like it was better to exit the situation.
@Andrew LaCivita as part of the context for one role can I actually say that marketing & client service manager that already there was supposed to report to me was walked out the morning I started and I had an associate with no background in financial services nor had any idea what he was working on & no one had a clue who all there clients actually were, etc. The CEO handed me his laptop and said "just make it better?" I typically never say that because it sounds so awful but it's the truth and within 3 months they gave me a substantial bonus for all the changes I had made thus far as I was operating in complete ambiguity and without a playbook.
Ha ha. I don't want to make anything from you. I actually want you to accomplish your goal (whatever that is). If I can help you make that transformation and achievement, then that's "payment" enough. If you want to share my name and work with others, that's even nicer. If you want to invest in yourself in one of my programs so I can help you on a deeper level, that's nice too but not necessary!!
@@andylacivita Not all jobs are for making money. How about other jobs? Like People Management? Social issues? Non-profit issues? Yes HR Metrics is what I do. So, People demographics are the same.
OK to be fair. I am looking for a new job, so am picking up on some pointers. So Context, get it.. Story telling etc. so how much do you want to earn? Is your wealth in money? Yes we all need money. I go for the highest salaries if I am honest, without selling my soul. But I am here. Employers can kick you into touch. So Heart vs Brain, or real life. the is always a human element, but big Corp don't give a shit. There are many other aspects to include in choosing who you sell your heart mind and soul to. Lol. but you still need to make sure that you Credit/ Debit card gives that reassuring "BEEP" when you make a payment in a supermarket. Or the mortgage/rent can be paid.

There are 8 great accomplishments. Revenue is only one of them. th-cam.com/video/-H811HGijoc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=R_-MPdAlpXLmlC58

Please post something on how to manage
Ageism. Alot of companies wont hire older workers.
Opportunities are less when you are older.
I do have a number of videos o. The channel that address ageism. Yes, it’s an issue. Hope the videos help!!

Sadly, so sadly you speak the truth.
Give me a STAR statement about why you deserve a like. Lol I'm kidding, I love your videos, they've been extremely helpful

@@JtotheUdith Thank you. 🙏 appreciated.
They missed out on you! Not the other way around. Never assume the interviews are omnipotent. They make mistakes and this was one of them.

Don't we all?
Was making 140k before a pay cut. Now 120 feels excruciating 😩 You spend what you make. I’m trying to get a different mindset on spending.
