All it needs is a tiny bit more fleshing out of a few more categories ie more car manufacturers and there is little reason for me to play AC or ACC
yea agreed. a big thing is I find the menus much better to navigate than AC/content manager in vr
@@hansolo631 never played in vr myself I can imagine that the bigger tiles etc could be easier in vr though.

@@jdemunter5235 It looks so good that I can't understand it, it makes no sense. AC looks good too when it's modded, but AMS2 is so perfect that it makes me question everything - that a small brazilian developer can demolish big triple A studios like EA, because F1 23 is unplayably blurry and ugly.
ACC is playable but AC looks and runs better... somehow. But AMS2 is an experience, and combined with the easy menus and FFB and car selection, it's what I show the rig off with
They use the Slightly Mad Studio engine, used in the Project Car and NFS Shift series. Its not Reiza's own engine but they did indeed a fantastic job with the physics and FFB! I'm also impressed, its so good!
Actually Mike, Cascavel joined this year because the runoff improvements were done. It's usually Velopark, Interlagos, Velo Citta and 2 or 3 rounds at Goiânia. This year's calendar still has a vacant spot in November as they are waiting for Brasília's reconstruction to be done, but they'll probably choose another venue, specially as Santa Cruz do Sul has a proper new asphalt now.
The P2, P3 and P4 classes aren't present anymore as costs became prohibitive, but you can find them in the regional stuff, like the Campeonato Gaúcho de Endurance (from where Endurance Brasil originated) and the Campeonato Paulista de Velocidade.

AMS2 started as NSF Shift ! Its the same game engine! Its unbelievable if you know NFS Shift. Unimaginable back then that you can create such a good sim out of it.
@@stefanschuchardt5734 I did not know this. In fact Shift was one of my fave games on the Xbox 360 - naturally behind the king of them all, PGR3 and 4. But Shift had something different about it, the way the cars drove and all. So neat to see that transforming into what many will consider the best of 2024. Now, if only the same would happen to Project Gotham. Most fun series ever.

Modding has never been so easy.
I did a race at Watkins Glen, 6pm start, 2023 WEC Hyper cars and GT3 cars, the racing with the sunset into night was gorgeous.

So glad I came across your video, I had no idea that there were preset races available. Just got the game a couple of weeks ago and it seems that every day there's a new surprise to be found. Couldn't be happier with this purchase. So much value for the money. So much content - and I'm not even including mods in that comment.
This truly is an incredible deal for such a well made sim. Good job there, Reiza. Wonder how folks that spend hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars per year on iRacing would feel knowing that there's something this good for so cheap (did I mention I also bought it on sale?)
R. Sandstorm is almost certainly a reference to Rodney Sandstorm, which is a character that Jordan Taylor invented. He's kind of a NASCAR superfan.

Thanks Mike, the AI still seem to have the same issues. Keep hearing the same line about them getting fixed in each update but looks much the same as a year when I stopped playing it.
Yeah, it’s not perfect, but the racing is still fun. I hope to see more improvements in future builds

Where do you catch the coverage of the races?
I think the Sigma is by far the fastest P1 in the game.
Are you using DRS?
Reisa has tinkered with the physics again, much less reactive rear after the latest update.

heck, im just trying to setup AM2 generally. the setup is quite overwhelming for what it is

I thought the AMS2 devs were supposed to be sorting out the AI cutting the track, pack racing and twitching and generally being unaware of the player?
Definitely being sorted out in beta. Haven't played the very latest builds but this looks more like the main release to me. AI flashing their brake lights through corners is a tell-tale sign, they didn't really do that anymore in the last beta build I played.
@@jonasclementdk that’s a relief to hear. I’ve seen people raving about the new AI and after seeing this video it looked exactly the same to when I last played it a couple of months ago. Im waiting eagerly for this ai update.
AMS2 crashes at the Home Screen for me. Any idea on a fix?

Have you tried verifying the game files on Steam?
It crashes for me if I alt-tab from it when it's loading. If I stay on the loading screen, it loads up fine.
Do you have any mods? Bad/broken mods due to game updates will give you a CTD every time.
Don't these cars have DRS? I think that's why they're smoking you in a straight line.
Only some of the cars have DRS
