Rfuktor files are epicly good. Karsten even did a version for me after I moaned about the big bumps just being to drastic for me on my dd1 whilst maintaining heavier cornering. Easily my favourite ffb of any sim with the file.
Good video, but you should’ve gone further into what you see in the FFB HUD widget. This can tell you a lot about the LFB balance and also the gain levels and if you are clipping the levels at peak torque situations. If you are clipping the FFB, it won’t damage anything, but it will saturate the system and tend to deaden some of the fine details while in the clipping areas. You can notice in the widget if you are clipping by the last histogram bar turning red. If red appears, just slowly lower the gain until the red is gone.
Over the years i have played a couple of games. Started with richard burns rallye, rfactor and then played assetto, ams and now ams 2. Settings are in games always explained badly or not at all. And settings can make or break experience in any sim. So hats off for tackling this topic. Needless to say settings in every sim nees much more attention. I downloaded this file and i feel like my ffb is boosted. Even on an old potato like thrustmaster t150.
@@vitprochazka6868 you’re not missing anything. Default plus definitely feels better on the Logitech wheels. I believe this file is for wheels that have more dynamic range than ours. I was constantly spinning with this file. Went back to default + and feel much more in control of the car.
Tried this profile with my Thrustmaster TS-PC and definitely felt horrible. Regardless messing with game settings it was way to bad, even with FX at 0 all I had was weak forces and a bunch of useless "noise". Default+ feels awesome, gain at 55, low force boost at 25, FX at 40 and damping 0.
Thanks man ... I usually race on AC and used to do PC2 as well... Now with the latest update and your video I am convinced to try AMS2 it again ) I will let you know how it goes, thanks for this setup and have an awesome race ..
For me, coming from AMS1 and this still being my "go to" sim, default+ feels the closest to the original AMS feel, therefore I prefer this ffb file to all the others.
I just bought AM2 and Rfactor 2 on the steam sale and AM2 ffb felt like crap and I found it very hard to push the cars on the limit this file completely changes that but Rfactor 2 still feels better plus has some of the best free content.
I know its fairly oldish video, but still relavant. A huge thank you, the most informative and constructive Video i have seen explaining what does what and how best to configure FFB. Again Thxs 😀
What are your settings for the CSL Elite? Its the same rig I'm running and the braking & control just feel off, really struggling to get to grips with it and enjoy.
I wished this was going to help but no :( I'm using a Logitech Pro DD wheel. I tried the custom profile and it's so much worse than default. AMS2 never felt good and I just can't dial this game in. FFB is really weak even at 100% gain and the details are all mushy. For reference, AC feels really good. ACC feels absolutely unreal. Both have really strong and detailed FFB that I just can't get in AMS2. It makes me so sad because AMS2 has so much content I want to play! ;-;
Same here, I come from ACC to AMS2, hoped that the FBB is a big upgrade in AMS2, but the opposite is the case. The FFB in AMS2 (with this modded file and Ams2 new physic-car) feels so muddy, nearly no details, weak curbs, no difference driving on grass, only force for turning the wheel. Dont know what is happening and I am searching for solution or if this is normal in AMS2. I am disappointed now
Yesterday I tuned several hours the FFB, for me the old physics work better, more Details. Also the default+ Profile is much stronger than the custom downloaden file, even on stengh =90%. dont know why the custom Profile is so exrremely weak (the force). the custom file feels like 1-2 nm force, the normal default+ like full 8 nm forxe
I thought the damping setting was more related to how much weight or "friction" is in the steering system. Would power steering level be more related to the gain? Higher gain means it's unassisted and you need to provide more of the steering force.
Do we have to set the gain for each car every time I get into a new setup the gain is 💯 and I have to turn it down. You would think you could have a general gain
I did everything you recommended, but I can't feel the grip of the front tires on the steering wheel. when I go straight ahead (the front tires slip) I don't feel any variation in the forcefeedback, as with the Assetto Corsa, for example. Am I doing something wrong? I use a Thrustmaster TS-PC.
Likewise. I have the same wheel, btw which rim are you using? I'm using the 488 ferrari wheel in the advanced mode on the thrustmaster control panel. Didn't have much time to configure but I drove the porsche Carrera cup 4.0 around the Cascais alternative layout with this video settings and decreased the car ffb gain to around 80- 85% and started to feel more road detail and weight transfer but still felt off. Tonight I'm gonna try to configure from the 0 and see what I find
when i'm using the custom profile, the CPU usage goes up a lot and even impacts the FPS......I'm using 5600X + 3080TI.....not sure why....though I'm quite satisfied with default already
I'm a bit confused: why download profiles, and then go in and change all of the adjustments (Gain, FX, Damping, etc)? Isn't the point that someone did that and they feel really good? Also AMS2 is awesome.
Hey Jog! The Custom File changes how the physics in the game are put out to you as a player through your wheel. The sliders adjust how strong that happens. As every Wheel is different, this is super important to set up 😎 I hope that answers your question! Regards, Joe
@@OverTake_gg how do you choose your wheel base settings though? If I don't have the right wheel base settings on the base its self it would all feel different
The ffb isn’t the problem with this game. The fact that if I even look at the brakes it sends me into an uncontrollable spin. Brake sensitivity min/max makes no difference whatsoever. I also race ac, acc, rf2, raceroom and I don’t have this problem in any of them.
@effinjamieTT something wrong with your end then because that doesn't happen to me and I use simagic p2000 hydraulic pedals and I have great range for trail braking.

The physics is the biggest problem with this game. Everything is overly sensitive. Oversteer, torque steer on corners, wheel lock ups, ice on grass. Its the only game that gives me problem driving.
