    I did research on this acid back in 2005-2006 and we did a lot of work to try and bring it to market for people with chronic wounds. It has really high efficacy and low irritation and doesn't impede wound healing. We ran into problems when it came to producing it in industrial quantities because it reacts with stainless steel. Good to finally see it in mass market products.

      @MaraJrianne 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      thank you for this tidbit about the stainless steel. I had wondered why it wasn't more in use, generally, and that gives some context for why.

    My mom had complications after veins surgery on both of her legs. First she had erysepelas, and then came wounds. For 2 year she was on all kinds of antibiotics, creams, otc, nothing helped,lots of money spent to meds and doctors. The wounds were there. • @MaraJrianne

    I saw one of your videos on this a few years ago and purchased the skin smart brand. at first, it kinda sat there not being really used until I saw you say something about it helping some people's roscea. I started using it for that and it helps calm it (though I thought it was just controlling the mites not calming on its own). I also have used it when allergies spike and I can't seem to get relief for my eyes. Knowing that, once it performs its function, it essentially just becomes salt water/saline, I figured it was safe on my eyes and it has been helpful there, too.
    As for going forward - I will try it for exercise. I break out in hives with exercise and the misery that comes with that has made it incredibly difficult to keep up anything that makes that flare, lest it goes too far and I have to use my epi-pen. Knowing this could help gives me some power back toward figuring out a routine I can do and keep up with.
    Thank you so much, Dr Dray!
    also, can I (we, your audience) have your references? I understand some may be behind paywalls but it would still be appreciated.

    I have hidradenitis suppurativa and hypochlorous acid is a game changer for my open wounds. It helps heal them faster and it does help with the itch. It doesn't make the itch completely go away but definitely helps reduce it. I use Vashe which is more expensive but it's a medical product so I feel more comfortable using it. The downside is that it is supposed to be used within 30 days of opening but once the 30 days is up I downgrade it to using it on my face (for acne) and to clean my CPAP equipment.

      @L1ttlef0ot หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I’m not a medical professional so this is just what I’ve learned from hearing other word of mouth saying something similar to you. What I think is If your acne is related to certain bacteria or yeast (naturally occurring in varying amounts) on your skin, the spray is proven to help reduce those so your skin isn’t experiencing inflammation from these anymore. The reduction in inflammation therefore helps reduce acne if caused by these things it seems. But if there’s no bacteria or yeast bothering your skin, for example if the acne is hormonal, it may not be as effective since the treatment is not appropriate for the cause. But, it may be very helpful to prevent infections if you happen to pick at your skin because of acne, which may help breakouts already present to heal faster. The dryness may come from the salt in the product which has to be there for the formulation to be stable, it’s in every brand for that reason. To counteract that, it may benefit to let it sit on your skin long enough to dry, then the active ingredient is done working and only salt water is left on your skin so you can rinse it off if you want then follow it with moisturizer.
