I did 20 years give or take working as a mechanic, last 10 years here in Spain before retiring. Can certainly sympathise with the bad back, never gave it a thought back in the day when lifting all those gearboxes out by hand☹️ Paying for it now though!
VW 3-cylinder 1.4/1.2 Tdi engines are tough. Only serious weakness is the oil pump chain snapping - usually destroys the engine. City-driven stop-start cars more likely to be affected.
Just ask a fellow worker to help .simple ,safe .and have a gearbox stand handy lol🍺. Or hang the engine .lower it s bit. No problem .sub frame out even easier🍺

Always take the gearbox level plug out before the drain plug! If you drain the oil and then find the level plug is seized you have a problem!
Not really. Just go through reverse light switch or breather
agree I used to lift transit boxes out in a race ,why do you use red rubber grease on pivot points when no rubber present

There is proper gearbox grease from sachs 🤔
Hey did you change the slave ? You didn't show how to bleed it🙄
