Hi Guys. Your Diagnostics and eventual fix was like watching Sherlock & Dr Watson, getting the offender in the end. 🕵♂ 👨⚕ Cheers. See you in the next one.
Good job, its not a fun job. I have seen this style egr valves stuck open with this symptoms, when the valve controlled by the little motor stick open. Remove the plastic cover in the back and you can see . Cheers!
Not sure what you fixed here Sandy 🤩, VW should be jailed for designing such a crap egr system and then bolting it where they did , these thing fail for fun 'total crap.
I couldn’t agree more, I’m doing another one at the moment, a 1.2 tdi, these cars need a good run down the motor way for an hour once a week . These cars are marketed for around the town driving, nipping to the shops but the design of the engine is geared towards long distance driving, vw messed up big time here
I have the same polo TDI and the egr has failed like in the video.. the car runs when I disconnect the return gas pipe... I just feel like scrapping the car honestly .
Just done one on an octavia having the same symptoms. New one didn't even fix it but the egr codes have cleared 😂. Car starts and struggles to even idle unless very kight throttle is applied. Honking exhaust. Ill try blocking the egr feed back to the inlet and make sure the vacuum control valve is workng.
@@JoaomotaoncarsBlogspotPt it was a knackered catalytic converter. Blocked. Try unbolting the exhaust at the cat and see if it runs. You'll get some codes up but if it runs you at least have an idea it could be that.
Because they just put a plate in between the egr pipe and intake manifold. It didnt seal up on either end, providing the same symptoms as before. Exhaust gas leaking through the supposedly closed EGR valve, loosing boost on the exhaust side and at the same time still have a major vacuum leak on the intake manifold. To do this test accurately both the EGR pipe and Intake manifold needs to be sealed off airtight and disconnected from eachother

Looks like there has been many hands tinkering before you Sandy.
Sure has Tam we are usually end of line🤣
Good job Roddy
Everybody knows u fixed it from afar🤣
8:56 You can use a 2 pence coin to blank that egr pipe. It's a perfect fit 😂
Great tip 👍
Another case of buying a diesel car when you should have got a petrol. Great job lads,

Did you find out what was the problem? Mine is doing the same now with no codes...

@@rodgerq Alright! Thank you! I'm going to start by doing that.
Good job lads 👍
Excellent video Sandy, great work! May I contact you/garage re a Dispatch fault my local lads in Glasgow can't analyse?
Hi Why blocking egr had no effect..?
Because they just put a plate in between the egr pipe and intake manifold. It didnt seal up on either end, providing the same symptoms as before. I have the exact same car and the exact same problem 😢 how much would they charge for getting it replaced?
You'll be at least a grand depending on where you take it and what replacement is fitted.
What is that back prob tool called the snap on one
You get them with snap on Verus but Rotkee does good ones
Not a nice job done one ! The extended sump is a pain!
Good job lads 👍
