    Thank you.
    Removing the bed is not a practical solution in my current situation. After watching your video I have a clear picture of what needs removed, what can stay, and why I have two pump choices.

    Thanks for the tutorial. Some a hole drilled into my tank close to the frame to steal gas. Found out when i was about $100 in at the gas pump when gas started pouring out. I’ll be doing this today

    Great vid. I like that it's already disassembled so it's easy to see. Mines different but close enough. 2005 sierra 1500 4.8 v8, bed removed.

    Do you have any suggestions on repairing the tank where all 4 of the tangs that secure the fuel pump in are rusted off other than replacing the whole tank?

  • @WaveAction777
    @WaveAction777 ปีที่แล้ว

    Pretty straight forward it seems. What is the line at the opposite side of the tank at the top for, just a vent? Where does that go to?

    should i drain the tank first? most of these newer trucks have a blocker in them so you cant put a hose down the fill line

    • @DivineSpeed
      @DivineSpeed  ปีที่แล้ว

      It makes it easier if you can drain the tank but sometimes you won't be able to drain the tank until you have the pump out first, and then drain it from there.

    I just took off bed off my single cab I'm trying to clean gas tank frame support is there a way just to lower back to clean frame?

    • @DivineSpeed
      @DivineSpeed  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The only way I can think of it is to loosen the front strap and then remove the rear strap. Should allow you to drop the rear of the tank.

    • @DivineSpeed
      @DivineSpeed  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely. I had the bed off to make it easier to see what I was talking about.

    I'm dealing with a fuel leak from the top of the tank when the truck is running. Are the rubber lines long enough that I could I drop the tank, but still leave everything hooked up? ..Everything excluding the fill hose obviously

    • @bstrdbss
      @bstrdbss 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could probably replace the lines without dropping the tank completely. But it would be easier to drop the tank there is not much room under there. The tank itself may be leaking which is not uncommon.

    • @petersimons213
      @petersimons213 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Experiencing same problem right now mainly fumes, evap codes, could it be related to sending unit/ rubber gasket

    • @OnlyNotes
      @OnlyNotes 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@petersimons213 for me it was the seal for the sending unit at the top of the tank. Mine is a rustbelt truck, and the steel lock ring that holds down the S/U had rotted away.
      Oddly I never had any codes. Just a large fuel leak when the tank was full. Also some fumes
