This was a really good review, full of information (with specs and benchmarks, not many do that) I just subscribed.
I am not a tablet person but if I had the money I would use this.
Before my the iphond i was a tablet user,before the tablet user i waa laptop user.
Samsung DeX makes a huge difference nowadays. I'm using it more than my PC to be honest, because it's so simple to just plug your phone or tablet to a monitor and continue doing whatever you're doing. Personally, I'll be picking this tablet up for digital illustration and DeX mode, because its Wacom pen technology is way superior to the iPad Pro's; besides it's powerful enough to keep up with any ultrabook. I only wish Samsung made a 12 inch version, although this size is really portable and lightweight.

Just got mine March 31, 2021. I watched this video and many others before purchasing a wifi+gsm unlocked one for $399 on backmarket. It still runs great and you won't noticed a real big difference between this and the S7 performance wise. The screen is amazing. Plays all games on the maximum graphics settings smoothly still and videos look amazing. Highly recommend for media/gaming/comic reading. You can get them even cheaper than I did but I wanted to be able to slide any sim card into it. If you were hesitant because it is slightly older I would say go for it and you won't be disappointed!

What you commented on about the third-party apps I agree with you 100% and this is why I am watching this video because I am looking for a android pad to play my games on! Power is key!
I have been waiting for this review and its strange none of the more main stream channels have released a review on this device. You made a great point, in an alternate universe if Apple allowed third party apps to be sideloaded that device would be the gold standard. I stumbled upon your channel by chance and I am really glad I did. Keep up the good work, you do great reviews :)
Really nice piece of HW, love the screen, one thing really stopping me from using this, or DEX in general as my main PC is that MS Office is missing all functions, would it have that I could for my work work just with DEX.

But, wow, this thing is so expensive! No way I'll be buying one. Even so, I was very happy to hear you say at the end there, that you'll be doing a review video on DEX with this device. What are the chances of doing one exclusively about Linux on DEX? It would be great to see that angle, since your DEX review on the Note 10, which uses the same processor, only looked at DEX on windows. Also, since this processor more or less foreshadows the SBCs we'll hopefully be seeing within a couple of years, I personally would love to see these things being pushed a little further, beyond the recreational/gaming/emulation tests. Maybe start testing the computational power with some gimp or cad/slicer or rendering tasks? Sort of like a "how will the higher end SBCs of the near future compare to the mid-range to upper-mid-range PCs of today" idea.
Sounds like a great replacement for my aging LTE Shield Tablet.
I'd like to see Mario Kart Wii emulated in Dolphin on this tablet.

Looks like the new TOP ANDROID TABLET. Your benchmarks sure prove it - 30% or more improvement across the board. Was concerned about the somewhat slow GPU, but your gaming performance appears to put that to rest. Also wondering if a less than optimized game could better be used for comparison as most high-end devices should have no trouble with current games - if you're interested in future comparision I'd suggest using World Of Steel: Tank Force but you'll need to run the game up to about 30,000 tanks killed.
Once again the only competition in the Android field I can think of is from Huawei, but it is yet to be see if their Tablet M6 (or MediaPad M6) will make it to the western world. I'm already using a less than well known Chinese brand, Xiaomi, and it looking like Huawei's are becoming as hard to find information on. What a lose to tablet users, particularly as Huawei still support the 8-inch format.
Looks amazing, but the price is absurd! That's up around some mid-to-high-end laptops which all have so much more power and flexability. I'd like to see this closer to $500 or so which would be much more compelling.

Please include Wii games with the Dolphin Emulator. I'd love to see how Mario Kart preforms. Heads up though, some level have a translucent blue box, so just try a different level/map if you run into that.

Love it I seen the tab s6 used as a phone also cool when at home then the outdoors smartwatches just need to get more powerful for on the go usages, wow I am watching every new smartwatch but so far because of cost I still will not be replacing my phone with a wach anytime soon, but I am sure one year there will be a watch to replace my phone so I can buy a huge tablet for use at home.

When GeForce Now comes out for android it’s going to be really interesting to see pc triple a gaming on this super amoled screen.

Soul caliber has always been one of my favorite games of all time.
What tickles my curiosity when it comes to powerful tablets is to know how close they get to being a laptop replacement.. for me that would mean juggling through different office programs/apps, mails, youtube playing in the background and a comprehensive file manager all at once

I have the tab s6! It's suuuper light. My guess would not heavy at all. Unless uou have heavy controllers!

When it comes to tablets these days, most use them for media consumption and many just want a 10 inch or larger tablet for thst purpose. This is where it becomes harder to justify top-end tablets vs affordable ones. It looks like an amazing tablet. I recently picked up a Fire HD 10 for $100 on prime day. It happens to be all I need.
There is a 64 dollar Walmart tablet and it is literally the same as Samsung Galaxy tab A

I'm still using an old Tab 4 as my phone, no stylus, plastic back, and I glued a powerbank to it for extended battery life, and instead of cameras it has two fleas who draw your photograph...

Hi I subscribe to hear more on the tablet good video.
I'm still holding on to my Galaxy Tab S2... it has also replaced a laptop during trips, but way more limited than this S6. No DeX, SoC is pretty ancient by current standards, no fancy keyboard, single speaker, microUSB charging.
But here's something that's a bit curious about it - it's still the lightest 9.7" tablet ever. Lighter than the S6.
Of course, it has far less features than newer Galaxy Tab models, so of course it would be lighter... if you take away the extra camera module plus the extra 3 speakers the S6 would probably be lighter. But you know.
It's great for what I actually use it for though. Reading articles and writting a few comments here and there, reading comics and manga, some TH-cam watching. I'd consider getting an S6 if I was doing more than that, but for now it's not necessary.
But I think things are gonna become more interesting now that a desktop mode is seemingly coming to Android 10 natively. With that, more devs will port their apps to work in desktop mode, which will in turn make Android more compatible to a desktop experience.
I have the S4 and for what I use it for, I don't really see the need to upgrade given the price of the S6. I'm a lightweight user of tablets. Just something to sit on the couch and watch some youtube videos, brows the web, email, Reddit, and Tik Tok.
I don't think I push a tablet that hard. I do have the keyboard case for the Dex mode, but I don't use it as often as I thought I would.
I'd love to get into video editing as I just was given a Go Pro as a gift, but I have no idea where to start. Someone below mentioned Power Director for Android, so I'll give that a shot on my S4. Hopefully it will run!

Thanks for the detailed info. For my hearing the 128GB/6GB version had better sound (especially better bass) than the 256GB/8GB version. Has anyone else experienced this, or any idea how to explain this?

Great review. I love my S5e. So I won't gehis one. I have the Note 10 Plus and it's an awesome phone. I will never go back to IOS for my personal use. It's just so far behind in features anymore. Just my feeling.

I love my s3's ! Have 2 for a couple years and as much as I really like them , the s6 is better. I really didn't need the the keyboard cover but bought it anyway and it's cool. I also , before I knew the s6 was coming out , bought an s5e, which is almost the same thing , little slower(which I've never noticed but reviewers always point out ) and no pen , but for net surfing, movie watching, almost anything , pretty good. Both have great sound , something the s3 was lacking.

How is the magnet on the keyboard case? Mine can't can't stick to the screen proper if I try to close the keyboard on the tablet. Wonder if it's a defect
Please show games for ps2, wii, and GameCube. Those are the ones I want to use this tablet the most for. If the emulation is not spot on then this tablet is well worth it for the form factor
So that Ipega controller, is it tablet specific or does it fit phones and tablets? I see it on amazon but the pictures are of various phones and the nintendo switch.

When retropie to the raspberry pi 4 is released... Can you please make a ultimate Amiga 500 emulation guide? I would like to be able to start individual games without going through the emulator options first. Also change f12 to another button.
