    Great video yet again Jason. It's reached the stage for me, that I look forward to your videos as much as a favourite TV show - and I hardly watch TV. I usually catch them in the morning when I'm having a coffee and breakfast and watch them twice. They're also very motivational videos for this aspiring van lifer..... cheers, Sean.

      Thanks Sean! The library closed at 5:30 last night and the video finished uploading at 5:29😂 But at least it was ready for this morning!
      Love getting your comments 😁

    I stumbled across your site about a month ago little did i realise that this would become an addiction. I am in my late 60s and have been to all the places you visit , you have shown them in a completely new light. Keep the videos coming

    I was born in Geelong in the early 60s. We moved away in late 68. At the time, we still had relatives there and I remember the place used to smell like fresh bitumen and the houses in some suburbs were often covered in cement dust. (This was probably due to the Shell petroleum refineries and the Geelong Cement works. They also used to send tar or bitumen out on rail stock where spillage was common. Viva Energy’s Geelong refinery remains as the sole manufacturer of bitumen in Australia)
    I'm not an environmentalist per se, but it's good to see they've cleaned the area up in the past few decades!

    • @MakingStuffGoingPlaces
      @MakingStuffGoingPlaces  26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It would certainly be a lot cleaner now, but mainly due to all the industry closing down. No cement works, Alcoa gone, Ford not producing...but hey, Geelong is still growing strong so it's all for the better.
      Oh and you can still smell the bitumen around the bay side if the refinery 😂

    I drove from Geelong to Warrnambool yesterday. It's a good drive. Just on the Princes Hwy. I'm glad I wasn't driving it last weekend when the wind was kicking up.

      Yeah, it is pretty tiring man-handling a van in strong winds 🙄

    Thanks again for such an enjoyable video. I look forward to when the next one is uploaded. Love the Geelong views as I've never been there but we drove past the Barwon Head turn off. I believe it's where they filmed the popular series Seachange. Sunrises are a favourite as I'm an early riser too.

      Thanks Leanne! ☺️
      I've never watched Seachange, but you're right, it was filmed there.
      Sunrises over the bay area pretty damn good!😁

    Wow , those sunsets & sunrises were amazing weren’t they. I’ve never been to Victoria, but I wouldn’t have thought that there beaches would be so nice. Finally got to see you actually riding the bike and going over jumps , looked pretty impressive 😄 cool video, thanks for sharing, looking forward to seeing the next one 😊

      Yeah, the beaches along the Great Ocean Rd are mostly cliff lined like that....very interesting!😁
      Summer sunsets are even better down here too. I'll be back then.

    Wow you constantly amaze in the way you find and showcase such interesting places. I can often see the You Yangs across the bay from my back deck but I have never actually been there to explore so that (from previous videos) and the MTB viewpoint, was fantastic. Now, following up with Geelong and surrounds where again I have only visited in passing, with these videos I kind of feel I have been on a touring journey (some places even remind me of many areas you have shown in NSW). I will have to make a more intensive trip down that way in the future. Thanks for sharing these places and making them so easy to find when I do travel there. 🙏

      Worth the trip one day, or even a weekend if you go down the Surf Coast too. If you can afford it, it's really nice to return on the Sorrento ferry and complete a full loop 😁

      Thanks Jason - I have travelled on the ferry a few times to Queenscliff and beyond .... when it was less than 1/2 the price 😆 - would still be worth it now even so!

    Love Bells Beach.
    I set off solo on my Vanlife journey back in January from Gold Coast.
    Love riding my bike on my vanlife adventures but for me I have the bike on the back and it’s hassle to access my drawers.
    Every time I need to get into them I have to remove my bike.
    The wind has been a little crazy in Sydney lately too.
    Lovely sunset.
    Always good to support solo Vanlifers in Australia.
    New sub
    Maybe sometime we can collaborate. 🚐

    Have to comment on the mtb riding, ex nurse from Cooma NSW. I nursed many MTB and snowboarders who forget that on the mountain here, the trees move! Most of the patients hit one of them, very painful and expensive. Be careful out there by yourself.

      Thanks Chris. I've had a few visits to the emergency department over the years. Fortunately nothing serious, but yeah, you never know...that's why I wear more protective gear than most people I see.

      Former Cooma resident here, watching and enjoying Jason's vlogs. I've had a few friends visit Cooma emergency for MTB accidents (one quite serious). Possibly you're related to Phil (& Jodie)?

    Some impressive views in this video and the last. It seems you are still in Victoria, so I'm guessing that you missed experiencing the earthquake up Sydney way last week?

    • @MakingStuffGoingPlaces
      @MakingStuffGoingPlaces  26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah, missed that one. Saw some footage of it....big and very short. Only ever experienced a few earthquakes. Quite a bizarre feeling when your house starts moving side to side 😂
      Hope you came through it without any damage.

    Am heading to Melbourne to visit family in Fawkner - probs going to stealth camp as the Big 4 nearby are $$$$$ - I have a motorhome so no chance of 'stealth' but can certainly find private places to park up -

    • @MakingStuffGoingPlaces
      @MakingStuffGoingPlaces  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      If you can find private property, then you're less likely to have issue. Otherwise, get on Google maps and do some pre searching for quiet streets. That's how I find places.
