    Tesla should charge $0 for FSD until it become useable.

    You should really consider permanently turning off "Traffic Light and Stop Sign Control" -- it has not had any updates in a few years now and won't be getting any. The data it collected was used to feed in to early FSD builds but hasn't been used in a long time. The only update it is likely to get is being removed entirely, which is likely not going to happen until FSD eventually launches in Europe and the UK (unless a regulator forces its removal before that happens). It isn't really very safe to have it enabled, as you have discovered. The experience with it switched off is vastly better as it doesn't stop for no reason due to misinterpreting horizontal lines for things other than stopping (eg "keep clear" markings, or some speed limit change road markings around towns/villages, even tar seams and surface changes in some instances get picked up incorrectly as stop lines).

      The legislation is what's holding it back in the UK. Government are currently pushing through new laws to allow fsd though. And to the guy who said "never". What. 50 years time there won't be a driverless car? Don't be daft. "never"😂.

      Forget RoboTaxi from Tesla. Will not happen. And "FSD Beta" will continue to be beta. FSD is ADAS and will be ADAS and nothing more than that.

    So fun thing I think they use pre mapped data mix, a road near my that had a bunch of mini roundabouts had them all removed and replaced with junctions, car will be on the main road and slow down where the roundabout used to be as if it was still there even though there's nothing there anymore

  • @bobuk5722

    Work in progress. Frankly I would find it more trouble than it is worth at present. If I have to dodge bollards and tell it to speed up I might as well do the whole job myself, it's not making the driving more relaxing, it's like being driven by a learner when you are the experienced driver.

    Enhanced autopilot is not meant to be used on non-highway roads. Its description: "Automatic driving from highway on-ramp to off-ramp includes automatic lane changes, Traffic-Aware Cruise Control with complete stopping and re-engagement, Autosteer, and overtaking slow cars in your lane.” It lists the abilities it can perform on highways. However, the description for Full Self-Driving Capability mentions, “Autosteer on city streets” as an added feature, meaning the Enhanced does not include it. Sadly only Enhanced Autopilot is availble in the UK. FSD here would be perfectly capable of driving that route. Maybe you know all of this already and I’ve wasted everyones time. Saying it is full self driving is just wrong. Was a good video nonetheless

    • @TeslaDriver

      Your describing navigate on autopilot, not enhanced autopilot specifically. This is Full self driving capability which includes the ability to stop and go at lights, junctions, traffic control etc on all roads. Autosteer on city streets is FSD beta basically which we don’t have sadly in the Uk

    • @alphadelta87

      I don't understand... If it's actual "FSD", there would be a solid blue line. The blue lines on the side just indicate normal "Autosteer", which is not FSD.
      The computer can be "FSD Capable" but it doesn't mean it is actually doing FSD.
      Unless I'm misunderstanding something, but that's how it is in the US.

    • @crabbypattyRobloxgod

      @@alphadelta87FSD beta turns for you and does almost everything for you which is in the USA. FSD in the UK Is exactly the same as basic autopilot in the uk, however basic autopilot has auto stop sign and stop light and auto park disabled in the background. And no you can use autopilot/enhanced autopilot on roads, of which I do all the time.

  • @therealchayd

    I did see seams in the road twice when it was phantom braking (first and last times), but the car did appear to pass other road seams without misbehaving, maybe there's just some weird way the sun is glinting off the road that makes it think there's a solid white line. Who knows.

    • @TeslaDriver

      I think it’s a pre planned issue as the car warned about lights before it could even see the road and never actually showed any lights just the stop line in the road. Either way not good

  • @HytelGrp

    Excited about the US's Full Self-Driving (FSD) tech, especially version 12. It gives me hope it'll hit the UK once we sort out the legal stuff. But, the UK's quirky roads and Tesla's focus on bigger markets like China might mean we're in for a longer wait. Really depends on how adaptable Tesla's AI is.
    I've got the enhanced autopilot, and it's awesome on motorways but kinda sketchy on other roads, especially those with cars parked on the street.
    Would love to hear something official from Tesla about it! Thanks for the videos!

    Last summer in Texas the temperature was over 100 degrees F in the afternoon and it was common to see road surface heat reflection (mirror/glass-like appearance on the road surface). It caused the base autopilot/TACC to severely phantom brake dozens of times to a level where even TACC was unuseable. Ridiculous. It happened on a 10-day 3,500 mile road trip from Dallas to Yellowstone, WY in my 2023 Model Y LR. In the morning or on overcast days, AutoPilot/TACC worked fine, but as soon as it warmed up enough for road surface heat reflection to occur, I could no longer use AutoPilot. Really sucked. Elon likes to say about Tesla Vision: Photons in, controls out. Well, Elon, it's more complicated than that because your car's software has to decide how to react to those photons. With FSD, I might be patient with the slow pace of progress (but not if I spent 12K $US), but for base Autopilot to behave so poorly in common situations like I described, inexcusable on an expensive car like my Tesla. Rant over :)

    'Auto' as a prefix meaning 'by itself'. I would love to see a Tesla left to completely drive itself in the UK with no driver interaction/intervention. Based on this video it'd career off the road or pile into something/someone within about 500 metres. Maybe the 'Self' in 'Full Self Driving' means the driver themselves drives.
    This self driving experience, having to intervene to miss bollards, go through green lights, navigate roundabouts, drive though narrow streets etc, seems far more stressful than simply driving the car yourself.
    As someone else said, as stressful as an experienced driver being driven by a learner. Except you would probably trust a learner not to drive off the road or into a bollard!
