In the context of the UK market FSD should definitely by attributed to the driver rather than the car. Total rip really, feels wrong tbh. I have enhanced autopilot and it's decent but the £3.5k upgrade for very basic additions and an ambiguous timeline for when things will happen makes me reluctant to make that gamble.
Speed limit compliance is absolutely fundamental imho. Also what are the laws restricting turn radius? Thanks for a really interesting video. I watched a US driver with the new V12 software driving before this one and the state of UK software is very poor in comparison.
Thanks, nice drive. Seems to have improved a little. Looking forward to your test drive vids and what you make of the Highland. I test drove it last week and loved it but won't buy it as I have FSD Beta on my current Model 3 which sadly, Tesla won't transfer.
I backed-up slide by slide (as I did the last time) and saw at @2:54 / 2:55, there is a sign on the right hand side showing 30. @40:41, it is called depreciate, depreciation, or depreciated. @58:39, Wow; some of my friends (in the US) also say it was OK, it was showing 'orange'. Cheers
That sign is defo a 40 just really dirty and the car read it incorrectly sadly, you can see it much clearer on google maps street view, I think if it’s unsure it should stick to the mapping data which includes the road speed. And yeh if it turns orange when your at speed and crossing its way more dangerous to brake for the red, I’d always go straight through 👍🏽👍🏽
Had to watch the video a few times in the full 4k resolution to see it is a not a 30 sign - can understand why the car got confused. I have been out in Audi and Toyota cars that also do speed limit recognition and they regularly make mistakes too, particularly with temporary roadworks speed limits. Still those cars are not self driving so for them it doesn't really matter.
At 42min in you mention 9% interest rates, and I agree that is high, however I was offered 0% interest against a new or nearly new version (1000 to 9000 miles on the clock, mostly demo Model 3 cars) in Manchester (in Aug 24). Like you I think its not good to be charged an extra 3/4 K for auto pilot features so I opted for a 11500 mile 2021 model 3 RWD + for £25k including the standard warranty until April 25 plus 10k or 1 year additional warranty. The downside is that a used cars attracts 9% interest rate but the thought of a 50% depreciation in 3 years against a new car pushed me to decide on a used one. I will keep this a year and trade up to a used model Y for more space, SUV ride hight and quicker. BUT just checked out the BYD Dolphin (top spec) which comes with heads up display and even 13amp sockets for whatever devices you take camping etc and at 31k 😳. Q. is a Tesla worth £10-20k more for one's average commute?
In the UK at least for sure, but check the USs fsd 12.3.5 that's trained on millions of footage from US dashcams and it drives better than a human. I've seen it do a quick left then right shuffle when it's stopped at a red light giving space for another vehicle tuning in to the the tight road the tesla is on. Saw it on a channel called Whole Mars Catalog
Great video. However, I am a bit confused about the difference between FSD and Auto Pilot, you seem to use these terms interchangeably but, as I understand it, the Tesla comes with AUTOPILOT as standard but ENHANCHED AUTIPILOT costs an additional £3,400 and FSD an additional £6,800. What have you got installed on this vehicle and what is being used. It's a bit ambiguous for me? Thanks.
Hey dude, I’ve been watching your channel for a long time, noticed a few months ago you haven’t posted, checked again now and you haven’t posted in a while. Hope everything is okay!
Hi everyone. I’m new to this. Love the video. I really want a self driving car as I’m very panicky. I’m confused though is this FSD? Everywhere I search it says in the U.K. it’s not yet available?
Interested in getting a model 3 probably circa 2020 - Is there a way to make the speed Larger on the tablet display? I feel that if it isn't I might just install a cheap HUD and stick it onto the dash if not ... Thanks In Advance 😉
The sooner we get FSD then the easier it'll be. Look how complicated some of the roads are which can all be totally re-designed. No traffic lights, erratic driving, queues or dual lanes. The list goes on.
Even with the simpler TACC and Autopilot, the car will accelerate back up to speed very slowly after stopping behind a vehicle. This can open up quite a large gap. With the rules of the road in the UK, this is often a way of giving implicit consent for another car to come in and take the space (or some cars will just do that anyway). It's a real annoyance and potentially dangerous.
17:40 autopilot having to slow unnecessarily and accelerate back again, to workaround laws effectively designed to run autosteer cars - driving at normal speeds - off the road at bends, likely contributes to extra battery consumption. Perhaps Tesla hasn't wasted time including that legal laziness in the battery consumption estimate algorithm I wonder. 53:10 I think veering BMW caused Tesla to automatically slow when it wasn't clear why initially
@tesladriver I say keep the car. You have swallowed most of depreciation. From now on, you see 2-3k top per annum. I bought used M3 LR last January for 31k low mileage pre refresh. Would trade in for 20k max. I plan to invest £1.5k into the suspension upgrade and £500 into sound proofing. This will give me 60% of highland for 6% of the money
Seeing aidriver navigate the Berkley hills with FSD, makes me think there's no excuse for UK Tesla to be so far behind and far less capable. As we all know it doesn't need to be
Government legislation is the thing that's holding self driving up in the UK and Europe... Tesla has the capabilities but can't do half of what it wants to legally...

it works insanely good ive seen so many videos in US
@@PCs454 Yes I agree, it appears in the UK we are being held back by legislation that needs updating
@@MichaelGeorge161 but i also hear that people saying FSD cant work in Uk because roundabouts are too difficult?
i love this
All the issues you are raising are sorted in the neural net version which is coming sooner than you think.
Great am so excited
Tesla Driver, can you show a FSD video with your 2024 Highland?
Much appreciated!

This is FSD, the £6800 option, which only stops at red lights & stop signs. In the UK that is the only difference and is otherwise enhanced autopilot
Which version of fsd is it? @@TeslaDriver

Autopilot is not progressing in the UK 😩
Interested in knowing why you wont buy a model x again, second hand market has them at some really reasonably priced model x's floating around.

The rate of acceleration is really impressive. Is it that quick on a standard model?
The Performance is absolutely rapid ⚡️No but the standard is still very fast compared to most cars

Agreed I do wish it kept up with the car in front until they exceed your speed limit faster
same with Honda
if the car has cost you 10k a year. this is the thing 60k for a car when you buy a used diesel with cruise control for 20k does the same thing.
Don't exchange. Your current one is the best

Master Ov?
the model y at moment is at 1% and there's a possibility of the vat being removed from ev's in april.
Yeh the 1% is nice, hopefully they bring that across to the highland, they have so many Ys in stock where as the 3 is flying out the door
Gotta watch the insurance costs though. Lots of Y owners are getting slaughtered currently, even more than us 3 owners 😭
i have just bought a 2020 enhanced auto pilot after watching the videos in us and im gutted ,feel robbed

Hey friend, this is Hansshow, who are specialized in Tesla accessories, will you come back to this channel and review our products?
'depreciation'?
It's not progressing fast enough. I think the car can drive safely fully hands off if they are allowed to roll that out but it's taking too long.
when is the new car video coming?
Looks like autopilot mode is more hassle than it's worth.
There's no way I will put my life in the hands of that car
Great, now who else is waiting for FSD transfer to upgrade to Highland?
I’ll wait for the next MY upgrade but without a FSD transfer there’s no way

And it's still being falsely advertised as FSD ? 🙄🙄
My first time seeing ‘Full Self-Driving Capability’. It’s terrifying.
Is this fsd 12?
Doesn't look like it!
what about the uk poor road quality and barely visible lane markings 😂.
Are you using version 12?
11
The difference between 11 and 12 is so great, it's hardly worth reviewing 11 now.

By the way i like it pls pin
Can you use tesla autopilot in the uk?
its so shite
9% ouch,
Ouch indeed, however I’ve had some people try tell me that’s good and they’ve been on 24% before 🤯 💸
