  • ➤ DIY Router Table PLANS: www.keithjohnsoncww.com/shop/...
    In this video, I build a DIY router table for my trim routers. Well, 2 router tables...one without a stand to be used with my VACPad system and the other portable router table has an easily broken down stand that features toolless assembly. Why did I make two different versions of this router table?? Well, in an effort to give back to YOU, my Patreon supporters and subscibers, for supporting my channel, I wanted to hand one off to someone who might need a trim router table in their shop. Thus, I created one with a stand that is easily disassembled when not in use. Be sure to leave a comment below to be automatically considered for this super cool compact router table gift (router and bits not included). Unfortunately, due to excessive shipping costs and international paperwork, I can only ship within the continental US. This is in no way affiliated with TH-cam and is NOT sponsored. I paid for all the materials and the parts for this project. Thanks for watching!! #kjsawdust #compactroutertable #routertable

    Ah man! this would be perfect. I have a small shop, and don't even have a vise to mount my trim router. I usually just (strategically/puckeringly) clamp it to end of my outfeed table. Very well thought out and designed Mr. Morsels! and, as always, a great video to go along with it.

      Get a large wooden hand screw clamp and tighten that to your router then take two regular clamps and tighten the hand screw clamp down to a table

    Keith, I really like the design of the table. Making it tool free is definitely worth the extra hardware. I am always impressed that Jerry and Lola stay nearby you with all the the noises from the tools. Our cats want nothing to do with the shop once they realize I am going to be working. Really enjoy your channel. Thank you!

      Thanks so much, Nick! And it's totally crazy those cats don't mind all the noise. They pretty much grew up out there since 6 months old, so I guess they are used to it. I still have kick them out when things start to get a little too much for them to handle. 😹

    I’m just starting out in woodworking, and have a very small shop. This seems like it would be a great solution for all those times I wish I had a router table. I think you’ve hit the sweet spot in this design. There’s a lot of videos with very complicated designs and a lot that are basically a board with a hole clamped to a bench. This one checks all the boxes.

    This is such a great give back! Keith your amazing. I current work out of my basement and have fought with building a mobile route table. Doing exactly what you did in the beginning with clamping it down “totally unsafe” and even cutting a a square to except the router plate out of a piece a birch to hold my router and clamping that to my work bench. Thank you for the opportunity. Your work is amazing. -Jeff

    Extremely well thought out design. I’m a custom stair builder and am constantly shaping different nosing profiles. Working in clients homes the router is definitely the biggest culprit for dust production. The built in dust collection in such a compact and light weight design would be a godsend for on site finish carpentry. Thanks for sharing your always informative and always entertaining builds. Hi Jerry!

    • @KeithJohnsonCustomWoodworking
      @KeithJohnsonCustomWoodworking  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks man! Love hearing from guys in the trades! And dust collection could be further improved by fully enclosing the base. It would make breaking it down more of a process, but so is vacuuming up dust and chips from one end of the house to the other 😜😂

    Such a functional, quality build! Over the summer, I built a quick, folding router table to get some projects done for my kids. I ended up clamping a temporary fence in place to get the job done, with the plan to upgrade the portable router table over time to include t-track, dust collection and a drop-in slot for an acrylic base. Watching your video gave me a ton of inspiration to rebuild it as the folding design I used is not as stable as I'd like it to be. I didn't really think it could be collapsible AND stable but this setup is great! Now to find some time to get working on it...

    The use of threaded inserts is really the best thing about this idea, I’m always hesitant to build things like this because, well, jigs add up and get in the way 😂 being able to take it apart is amazing! Also credit for actually clamping the router, I usually just slap the biggest battery on it that I can find and assume it’s good enough to hold. Great table plans.

    • @KeithJohnsonCustomWoodworking
      @KeithJohnsonCustomWoodworking  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Zack! I think the weight of the router and a big battery is more than enough to hold it in place. That's another reason I made the base plate square...so it wouldn't be able to spin.

I love the fact that you used the valchromat. Fantastic build. I really love how you include your cats in your videos. Being able to quickly break it down is terrific as many of us don’t have huge workshops. Keep the great content coming!!!

    Love the design as always Keith. The little details in the build make the router table. The curve is a great touch. I won't lie to you, this would look great in my workshop...

    Excellent build Keith! I’m just starting off in my woodworking journey, so my only router is a trim router. Nice to see build videos that newbies can benefit from.

    I love your attitude towards woodworking you have inspired me in diferente ways, starting with a 1 car garage and few tools , but the most important is to create anything without fear , for a starter this would be a nice addition to his collection well made and many years to enjoy, good luck to everyone 👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼

    Very well executed. I have been looking to make myself a router table. This gives me tons of ideas to get me motivated. The knockdown part is also an amazing idea as it helps with my issue of never having enough space!!

    I don't have a trim router - yet - but I really like the idea of this. I would LOVE to see more of the "knock down shop furniture/tools" concept! Fantastic for those of us with small shops!

    Always appreciate the humor to go along with the great builds. I have a full-sized router (and table) but this would be super handy for the basement when I don't want to head out to the garage. Nice job! It's fun when I'm a little ahead on my podcast listening and behind on my TH-cam watching so I get to hear what you think about a project before I see it.
