I couldn’t agree with you more about it being peak Ducati and not feeling the need to get the latest and greatest! I think these and the 1198’s are the greatest. Pure feeling and character! Pure enjoyment! Thanks for sharing. Ride safe.
last SBK with trellis frame, i got myself an 848 in pearl white... its less power than this 1098 but still, for me, as he stated, i am not a professional, not a racer, for what i do its amazing and more than i can ever need and use. love it!
1198s. Ducati owner most raw Ducati experience and motorized to its peak limit before the Lamborghini take over. It is an experience to enjoy and a timeless bike that would bring smiles for many years to come. It’s like being on a roller coaster for the first time it don’t get boring the bike is extremely sexy like Michelle. Cindy Crawford. Timeless
The reason the sock band is put around the reservoir is for looks. Full stop. The original reason was, race bikes while racing come under severe braking pressure and the top and actually can come alittle lose and leak fluid. The cover was there to absorb the fluid.
If you haven't ridden it much and not for quite a while, it's advisable to ease yourself back into the 1098 because that beast will bite you hard if you are not in tune with it. We all think we're heroes until we're not.
This video was horrible for my OCD i.e. dry washing a limited edition, leaving helmet on tank and waist strap flappin' in the breeze. Great video though and I can't believe you got that beauty for less than $7k. I'm about to pay $15k+ for an R model. Anyhoo keep up the good work and have fun!
lol, trust me, I am OCD when it comes to caring for my stuff. If you've never used waterless wash look it up. No damage whatsoever, including hairline scratches. Thanks for the comment and support! $15k for an R is still worth every penny! Enjoy!
Great video and I really appreciate what you said at the very end. I have a 2002 998 and about the only bike I want instead is a 1098 ironically enough. However, everything you said about the 1098 is applicable to the 998 for me. Thanks for the reminder.
@@montoya197803 thank you! Love AGV helmets and love Mugello! I was at the 2017 race in person, and a huge Hayden fan, so it has extra special meaning for me. I like your helmet too, but I can't own them all😂
7:39 people are doing It because of the Potential of breakfluid leaking, hitting and destroying the Display .. this happens more likely at the Track because of the High acceleration and deceleration 👍
I was thinking to buy this bike here in Turkey 🇹🇷 Not easy to find... But I will find and buy one day... I decided after your friendly video Thanx for sharing By the way that helmet rocks 🏍🤘
I hope you dont make this mistake in hot times the bike wont even start easy and ruin your mood imagine having a moment outside of cafe and the thing doesnt even start for good 5-10minutes
I have the exact same bike. 2007. Mine has 2340 miles. I never ride it much anymore but I love it. It’s an excellent ride! Be safe out there brother… btw that garage of yours is crazy! I have AC in mine so it doesn’t get dusty. I keep my 1098S and my Performante in there. Maybe look into an outside AC. That will clear out that dust.
Thanks for the comment! My bigger problem is at the moment I have barn doors on the garage and they aren't sealed, so there's no stopping the dust until I replace them. I had planned to do this when we first bought the house, but it's been 9 years and I still haven’t. I got used to the barn doors and like they character they bring, even if the dust isn't ideal... Someday... Agree, I don't ride my 1098 much these days either, but love it anyway. Enjoy yours and your Performante in good health!🍻🤙
Love the 1098 I've had mine since 08 a little trick on cold start. hit the start button don't hold it. let it wind over until it stops flick the throttle let it slam shut then hit the start button no throttle. It will reset the throttle sensors. hope this helps
In future videos of this bike can you not fastforward through the riding? That’s why I watch videos with motorcycles, to see the riding and hear the engine revving as you ride. Also, how in hell did you get a tricolore for 6500? The cheapest one I’ve ever seen was 10,500 and it was sold fast
Never ride your 1098 without full leathers on or you might regret it one day .. joe in Dublin
You tell him Joe that’s what I always say.

Never say never, but probably not unless I find an even more interesting Ducati, like the Desmosedici RR😉
