    James, enjoying the channel. loving this video - those Taylormade irons look pretty amazing. I'm looking to get fit for these over the winter, possibly at Tour Issue Golf in York.

    Love this channel guys and follow both your individual channels. I top a driver,3 wood & 7 wood virtually every time hit take the club out of my bag. I mainly use a 1 iron or 4 iron off the tee but find I'm losing distance to my playing partners and therefor hitting a longer iron into greens. I'm in Australia and have a HC of 21. I'm just about ready to give up golf due to the embarrassment of not getting away on the 1st tee. Can you help me??????

    Absolutely loving the new channel. I look forward to what’s coming. I am a person that likes to collect data on my game. I had used GameGolf Live for a few years, until it crapped out on me and I lost ALL of my data. I am now using Arccos during my rounds and a Swing Caddie SC 300i on the range. Would you be willing to, at a cost, look at some videos of swings and look at the data to assist with what needs to be worked on, and then perhaps offering assistance on those things.
    My question is this: would you be willing to take on a set of lessons and use collected data to assist during those lessons?

    18 HC here and I now play the P760s after playing 2018 Apex MBs for a year and I totally agree with your assessment that the P770s are perfect for low/mid/high HC as they deliver great looks and exceptional forgiveness over cavity backs and MB. With my P760s I'm not losing 30 yards from a toe strike. I know when I miss hit but my playing partners have no clue as my ball still gets there.
    On another note, both of you have such drastically different looking swings and yet you both perform so similarly to each other. Goes to show that contact is the only thing that really matters.

  • @Britton0932
    @Britton0932 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I think a lot of golfers in my position would like to k ow this: I hit my driver between 260 and 290 yards, with an inevitable crappy shot mixed in at 240. I can hit my irons pretty well 166 for a 7 iron, nothing amazing, but good enough. My strokes come in the scoring zone. Inside 50 yards and putting is where my handicap gets bottled. I am looking to replace my Nike Vapor Pro Combos with a newer set. I feel that the right set for me would be the P7-MC as I am NOT looking for a distance club, and the inconsistencies that can come from those. Getting fitted is an option, but even that (in New York City) is off of a mat. So how do I know if I want to drop $1,600 on these? Or, would I be safer just going with the 770s and dealing with changing my distances?
    Also, one thing that I think is over-looked when looking at irons. When I stand over a smaller iron head, with a thinner top line, I love it. That gives me the confidence to hit a good shot BECAUSE I am looking down at a better player club. I know I can hit it and THAT makes me feel like I am miles better than I actually am. I came from a set of TM R7s and looking down on that fatty made me think, “eh, I can swing it however and the club will help me.” Getting the Nikes actually made me a better player.

    I am just a 10 handicap golfer and I recently switched to Mizuno blades. I found them no more difficult to hit than my 921 Forged irons. My ball striking is improving rapidly from concentrating on strike. Despite the weaker lofts they are flying only slightly shorter while flying higher and spinning more with significantly steeper landing angles. My feeling is that slight mishits don’t perform much differently from the 921s while big mishits won’t do well with either. I think the difficulty of playing blades is exaggerated.

    • @Kirktown
      @Kirktown ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I have a very similar experience -- went from a 15 to a 3 handicap in about a year from going from P790 to P7MB -- definitely need distance on my 4 and 5, but my 4 still goes 200 and will never ever go long!
      Also, strangely enough, I was launching the blades lower and with less spin than the rest of the lot! Go figure! My favorite part about the mishits is that they aren't smashed into the next dimension, they tend to land short of OB!

    • @DylanJamesGolf
      @DylanJamesGolf ปีที่แล้ว

      100% agree.

    • @Skumtomten1
      @Skumtomten1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Kirktown Yea that point I made before. When you do mishit, you actually want it to go shorter, its better because much more often than not, it will be short of the hazard or OB instead. Been playing with Taylor Made M2 irons for 5 years, and good clubs yes, but their distance is very inconsistent. If I hit it well I sometimes get an extra kick, going 5+ meters longer, which often goes over the green, and I don't like the feeling to them either.
      I switched to Titleist mb's this season and i'm loving them so far. Always been a good ball striker and a much better golfer now than 5 years ago (from 14 hcp to around 7,5 now) but still, I love the feel and extra consistency and in my opinion they aren't that much harder to hit. Obviously, blades are not for everyone it has to be said, but I don't think anyone should instantly disregard them due to being so "difficult", its about hitting it well at the end of the day no matter the club.

    You buy whatever clubs you want!!! Tbh either clubs you pick you will most likely will not score better you will score the same. Only way you can score better is the putting and short game or get dialed in from 150-100y and able to keep the tee shots in the fairways. Blades or CB irons don’t really matter that much. Most thing you will see is the loft change. if you hit consistently you can play blades. Tbh if your drives on par4 get you 150 away. You can go 8i or 7i easy. Less loft and offset makes the address look way better imo.

    I literally just got back from a TaylorMade fitting that my local simulator spot was putting on. I'm relatively newer to golf (3 years or so) and I'm a 14 handicap. I'm currently gaming JPX 921 hot metals (game improvement irons). I went to the fitting because it was free and I was curious if I could hit some more players style irons. My biggest issue right now with my irons is dispursion of distance. My 7 iron can go anywhere from 170 to 210. I started with the p790s. They felt good but were much more similar to my JPX than I was expecting. They were basically just as juiced. With a 7 I think I averaged a 190 carry with them. I just don't need my 7 iron to go 200 yards. I also found that I was turning them over a bit too much. So I went to the 770s. started to like the smaller footprint of the club face. They felt better than the 790s but the result was pretty similar. Still pretty juiced and I found that I was turning it over. Just for laughs the fitter had me try the MCs. As a midhandicapper I did not think I was capable of hitting a bladed club. But to my surprise, they felt amazing. I was striping them. They had a nice consistent ball flight and was now Carrying about 175-180 and going much higher. The fitter seemed just as surprised as me. He then had me try the MBs just to see. And sure enough, they felt even better. Was hitting them great. Even started messing around with shaping the ball and found it really easy. Feels crazy, but he said if I were looking to buy he'd probably put me in the MBs from PW-7 and 770s in 6-4.

    I'm a fan generally but its just silly for reviewers to keep criticizing blades and then hit them as good as the other clubs. You did the same thing with the the review of the 620mb and quite frankly its annoying. Any player can hit a bad shot with any club and rather than discouraging people from playing more traditional clubs maybe you should share with them the truth, first, you cannot buy a good golf swing or a good game, and second a players handicap is far more indicative of their ability on and around the greens than the irons they're playing or should choose.

    NONE of these clubs should be used by ANYONE with a handicap over 6-8! These are unforgiving, and will actually make your scores go up! In fact the MC and TW shouldn’t be played by anyone higher than a 0! Those clubs are for tour pros, and NOT low or mid handicap players!

      Yeah keep talking pal while i am handicap 25,8 and have no problems. I go the p770 and p7mc combo set and my average round on a links is +1 i am fine with that.

    Thanks you guys!! This is a very educational video. Certainly helps from potentially purchasing the wrong irons for a golfers game. 🏌️‍♂️ TaylorMade does wonderfully with catering to any level of golfer
