    One caveat I'd throw out there if you are basing your choice on handicap, is understand WHY you are at your handicap.
    When I was around an 18, it wasn't my ball striking that was the problem. I just never saw a 3 putt i didn't like.
    Once I got with a decent putting coach, i dropped to a 6 handicap. I was using Titleist AP2 the entire time.
    So just adjust your scale accordingly.

    I’m a 15 handicap and was recently fit for Mizuno’s. I really wanted the 225 Pro’s as I love the look of those irons. However, the JPX923 Forged provided me with much more consistent performance and are now in my bag producing great results. Just another example of why a good fitting is so important.

      But the problem with fitting, especially if you are new ish, as you get better those expensive fitted clubs Will get to the end of Their best for you this can also happen quite quickly to people.

    • @anthonycarney3128
      @anthonycarney3128 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MrSupermugen not untrue but that’s why places like Golfbidder exist. If you were fitted for a nice set of Mizuno JPX 923 a year ago, and have already improved to where something more bladey would progress your game, provided you have looked after your Mizunos, they would still fetch a decent amount on resale. Same deal with moving on from game improvement irons. In fact, you’d probably have even more chance of someone bidding on your game improvement irons since new golfers don’t want to spend a tonne of cash on clubs they are just trying to learn how to hit.

    I've fluctuated between a 0-3 handicap over the last 10 years depending on how frequently I play and practice. Mizuno has consistently made irons that work well for me and I've played the Mizuno JPX 919 tour's for the last several years. From what I hear they are fairly similar to the Mizuno pro 223's. two questions...
    1. what about lefties? Mizuno for example makes great clubs but tends to limit their selection for lefties.
    2. where do you stand on club fittings? recommending 2nd hand clubs is a great way to update gear in a bag at a discount but the confidence knowing that the length, lie, shaft flex, shaft weight and grip size are fitted specifically to your swing is very confidence inspiring... Have a set of fitted clubs means that every time I miss a shot I know now I can't blame the gear.

    In 2021 I bought the Sim2 Max OS irons. After a decade with older Yonex irons, the difference was something. I know that was more the delofting, but I also find them much more forgiving. I'm a low to mid 90s golfer. I was a mid to high 90s golfer before then. Was that the clubs? Who can say. But they are chunky, and honestly, I like them a lot.

    14HC golfer, recently got fitted and grabbed a set of taylor made M4 irons. Also grabbed the M4 driver. And im pretty consistant with striking but man noticed both with irons and the driver an off center strike still goes a decent distance and direction. I really need to shank one or fat it to create a bad shot.
