My favorite of all time was on a top flight golf ball. I honestly was laughing so hard I thought I was going to be in tears. I expect certain followings to be really passionate about their golf balls, but never have I had a negative comment to that degree on a top flight. You just never know what you're going to see on here 😂
Kirkland blew it this year and last year was way better. You want the worlds best sleeper? Spalding SD Tour 3 piece urethane ball for 14 bucks on line. Ignore the hit job by the spy's. I play it to a 5 hdcp.
An interesting review. I'm 72 years old and my swing speed is 80-82 mph. About 2 years ago, I set out to find the best ball for my game. I listened to a bunch of podcasts and read a lot of articles on the "best ball for slow swing speeds." I wound up testing the Callaway Supersoft, Srixon Softfeel, Titleist ProV1, Titleist AVX, Noodle Long and Soft, Precept Laddie Extreme, Cut Grey, Kirkland Signature and a few others. In the end, I liked the feel of the softer balls but found almost no difference in performance except that I have the impression that the Kirkland doesn't go as far as the others and the Titleist AVX might go a bit further (or it might be my imagination). Now, I use the AVX if the fairway is wide and there's no water. Otherwise, I use the cheapest ball I can buy, which is the Precept or the Noodle. I really believe that unless you're good enough to consistently hit the ball where you want to hit it, it just doesn't make any difference.
So I agree with some of this. I would actually make the argument that if you are not very good and you miss hit the golf ball a lot, you want something with softer compression to offer more forgiveness. If you are hitting a firmer golf ball like the AVX or the pro v1, Miss hits are going to punish you a lot more than soft golf balls are.
@@GolfBallAddictI’ve recently hit 85,86 and pretty much avg 89 been golfing 2 years. I’ve noticed all balls go the same distance for me 🤷🏽♂️ I avg 280 with 3 wood don’t use driver lol but for me the best ball I’ve noticed is Titleist it’s the only ball the checks for me every thing else gives me roll
Strike ball correctly you get good results regardless how expensive or cheap the ball is. Make poor contact you get poor result how expensive or poor golf ball is.
Agree whole heartedly. Whenever I've had a special round it has been with something I just pulled out of my bag without a second thought!@@bobbradford6838
Absolutely no reason for a casual golfer to pay premium for golf balls. Play generics or play the ones you find. I'm a 6 handicap, I just want consistency. Found balls are not consistent. I'd rather have balls that are all the same, so I know what I'll get out of with every swing, chip or putt. A new box of Kirkland's, Vice, Pro Staff or other balls in range are fine for me.
I understand that thought process. And I'm sure it's true to some degree. But you do need to be careful. It's kind of like I mentioned in the video. The amount of people who have been a die-hard golf ball fan and have switched once I do a fitting for them would baffle you. A lot of people think that a golf ball fitting would be someone who is unsure what to play. That does happen from time to time, however a lot of my fittings come from guys who just played the same thing for 20 years and I convinced them to do the fitting just to give them closure. Most of them agree to it and I would say a good 60% of people end up switching. My point in that is that a lot of people are playing golf balls they really like and they think are giving them the max performance, but it just ends up all being hype in their head bringing false confidence.
@GolfBallAddict I understand and agree with you 💯 but I'm someone who let's just say is a shit golfer I'm work 40 hrs a week and I really don't have money to spend so I try to go cheap as I can but at same time I try to stick with a name brand I can't see spending 30 50 or 60 dollars on something I will just end up losing in the water or trees I play the Bridgestone e6 I found a place where I can get them for 21.99 a dozen but you really have me interested in the precept laddie now
@albertmcreynolds7143 bro go to academy and buy ufo balls. Let's you keep the same ball for consistency and they are 1 dollar per ball. If you aren't concerned about getting absolute peak performance then it's great. I'm not a great golfer and I can't really tell the difference between balls so I just buy those
@@albertmcreynolds7143 I'm going to give you the best ball you have ever played for 14 bucks a dozen. A tour quality 3 piece TPU Urethane ball that any tour pro would use. Spalding SD Tour Golf ball on rock bottom golf. Not the X model but the one in the gold box. You will buy more.
Surprised but...not surprised. I am an older golfer 57 but swing the club 106-110 and range between 3-5 hdcp. I REALLY like the Pro V1 but I am disgusted by the price. I have told you previously I am a Vice Pro Plus guy...they are better in EVERY respect to the Pro V1s for me. The price is better, I get to customize them and my consistency is much better with all shots. I am sorry for all of the jerks who say nasty things about any of your testing, but am not surprised with the love of Kirkland, tried them...will never buy them again.
Thank you so much for the feedback. Personally I adore the vice Pro Plus especially the brand new model. The testing numbers were just insane. It's part of the territory. I am actually really blessed to have 98% of my comments be amazing people with really constructive feedback and from what I can tell really high intelligence. Not to mention just good down to earth morally sound people. I'll always get a few guys in here who are trolls. Is what it is I just block them and move on LOL
I agree 100%. Tried the Vice pro plus last week and it's my new #1 ball. I actually purchased the neon green and wow does that ball pop on the fairway, in the rough, in the woods..lol...and it is MUCH easier to track in the air at least for me, unlike white which many times I lose sight of because it just blends too well with the sky

@@GolfBallAddict now, I bought a few doz of ProV1s (recycled) frorm Walmart when they were 5.99/dz. I kinda had fun sorting them oldest to newest by the side stamp. Most, honestly, were indistinguishable from new some were logoed but for 50c a ball, I figured by materials only they couldn't be any worse than the price point Nitros or Wilson Boosts.
Appreciate the list. agree on Kirkland. Balls today have a vast options for all abilities. Much more so than when I grew up (age 57 now) One must decide what is their top reasons for a ball of choice. For me as a 3-4 hcp, that is short game trust, putting/feel, distance is not my top item but has to be a factor of not a dog. 98-102 SS. Tried them all. Still revert back to ProV1. TP5 is solid, Tour response is good. Vice Pro plus is very playable and I have played it recently. Note: I practice only with ProV in my short game (75% of my practice time). That is key to me of whatever ball people play is to use it practicing where it can matter most. Note: yesterday travel group is best shot format. I chipped in for birdie on par 3 we missed green. 244 par 4 I hit 5 wood to about 20 yards made up and down with 3 foot putt. ProV1. But I practice those constantly and it pays off.
I disagree. The quality of the Kirkland ball is awful. No one ball is like the other. This is why a tour ball is so much better and why you pay $55-$60 for a dozen of Titleist Golf balls than the cheaper ones, its the quality and consistency ball for ball, that is what you are paying for.
I am almost 80 years young. Swing speed around 90 when I am warmed up. I love the Bridgestone e12 contact however, I don't think any golf ball is worth over $25 per dozen. The manufacturers are making a killing on their golf balls. So I only buy the e12 when its marked down 20% or more at walmart or on line. Most of my balls are obtained via the lost ball situation. Its cheap, like me.😊
Have you tried something like the vice tour? They are around $25 per dozen and have a little bit of a firmer feel. I definitely feel you sir. I'm all about value myself. 😃
I'm a higher handicap with a swing speed of around 83 to 86ish. I have been trying out the Wilson Zips, does this ball make sense statistically for me from your experience? I'd like to hear your thoughts. Thanks in advance.
Absolutely. The Wilson zip was my number two ranked golf ball on my 100 list. I have seen probably 40 to 50 people switch to it over the last 3 years because of my recommendation and they are absolutely in love. No I'm not necessarily saying it's for everyone, but right now the success rate is about 99%. It's an amazing golf ball with loads of forgiveness and feel
You’d be surprised to see the amount of older gentlemen and slow swing speed players playing these tour rated balls. I always cringe when I ask a golfer what ball they play and instantly know the compression is way beyond their swing. Great vid.
Completely agree. I am in the same boat now. I have a lot of guys who swing 75 mph who are arguing with me on the channel about how the pro v1x is the right ball for them. Not saying I don't believe them, but I am requiring some pretty hard evidence 😂
You need to stick to a higher compression golf ball. Definitely an x model or a four piece I don't know what your handicap is but I imagine if you're playing competitively in high school you should at least be using something like that. Is price a factor?
Price is a factor until I get consistent enough to where I don’t lose that many balls. I don’t keep a handicap, but I tend to play in the high 70s and low 80s
I think most golfers don’t understand compression and what that number means to your swing. My driver speed is on par with yours (95-100). I only use DTC balls (Sugar, Snell, Vice or OnCore) and they must be 3 piece urethane covers with 80-85 compression, that gets me the most distance but still enough stopping power on the green. Currently using an old box of new Snell MTB Prime after using all of my Prime 3.0’s. I will reorder the 3.0’s after the 2 dozen MTB’s are gone.
I would definitely agree with you when it comes to the compression. Compression doesn't quite mean what it used to but it's still very important when it comes to the golf ball fitting. Definitely give the new Snell 3.0 as a try they are awesome
140-145 ball speed for driver, slice sometimes and would like some forgiveness (15 hcp). I play the AVX but not sure it makes sense. What are some you’d recommend I check out? Thank you!!
I would still stay with the two piece since the golf balls have advanced in technology so much and they will help get you to the single digit category. Like I said before check out that video I think you'll like it 😁
As a Srixon player, I'm very happy to not see them mentioned. I went from supersofts to Bridgestone e6/e12s. I started to notice Supersofts almost never stuck greens for me so bailed to Bridgestones. Never bought the tour level balls but I've always enjoyed playing them especially your dreaded e12 in matte red for winter rounds so i can see it on the dead blonde fairways. Treated myself to Srixon Zstar diamonds after playing a ZstarVX i found. Really love any of the Zstar line and im a mid-high handicap that's only been playing for a year. To go along with the ProV1 phenomenon, I wonder if the fact that the ProVs being THE number 1 golf ball give average joes confidence they wouldn't normally have out there. Marketing is mammoth of course but that could be a part of it as well. Never bought them, but even I feel that way when i play one I've found. Would love to see a top 5 or 10 list for two piece ball, three piece ball, etc.
If anything, I would say srixon is UNDERrated. They continue to not only make quality golf balls across the board, but also their clubs have made a significant jump as well. Love the feedback. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and sharing your thoughts 😃
My main gamer has been the matte green supersofts. I love the feel on most shots, but I too, am not sticking the greens. I've been experimenting with other balls this year, and like GBA suggested, on courses I'm familiar with as kind of a control. I'm currently trying out the Bridgestone e6 and e12's. So far I'm liking them. All these "best" golf balls that the pros use and are overly hyped, are definitely not the balls for my game. It's kind of a never ending search for the ball that best suits me. The more I play, the more I notice the nuances of the balls I'm playing. Some have a nice soft feel, some get good distance with, some are great around the green, and some are budget friendly, now I need to find the one that's a solid mix of all those characteristics with my game.
@@13vansman Glad its not just me because i thought i was taking crazy pills. I truly think its all in the matte finish supersofts. I was playing matte reds/orange and they also putt terribly because of friction and they just spin on putts. I swear so you'll push or pull a putt even with the most precision stroke. I have a standard white one i found to test but haven't got to it. As far as balls to suit the game, I feel that if im playing a 3-piece ball it does everything i need. Best 2-piece is the e6 still which ive heard the early versions were 3-piece.
Interesting review and you are spot on. As a senior with a swing speed with a 7 iron of 74 I never consider tour balls. Better off with a Srixon soft or AD333 but I have tried the latest Supersoft which is good for my swing. Do you rate Wilson golf balls? Many thanks greetings from 🇬🇧
Yeah we've actually been doing a lot of Wilson reviews lately. Just got done with the boost and it was phenomenal. I also just posted a Wilson staff model that turned out really good too
I’m so glad I found your channel. Over the years I have loved trying different golf balls. I play super soft golf balls. Before that I played E6 Lady. When they discontinued the “lady” and went to just E6, I tried them, but there not the same. Im 54 years old, average round is 90 strokes. I have back problems and my swing is 80 mph. I looked at your top 10 video. And I will try the Wilson zip since it’s still available on Amazon. My question is with a swing speed of 78 to 82 miles an hour, Is there a special ball you recommend for such a slow swing speed? Or with your knowledge, could you recommend a golf ball that would be the equivalent of the old E6 lady?
Thank you so much for your question and for watching. So the Wilson zip should be an amazing ball for you then. Really what you want to do is stick to lower compression golf balls that are two piece. Wilson makes actually quite a few of them from the zip, the Wilson Duo, etc. I also love the Avant 55, the Pinnacle soft, and the maxfli soft. All comparable and all really good for that swing speed
So a couple of questions for you before I answer, are you a really good ball striker? Because if you're not striking the iron pure then the first thing I would recommend is probably smooth your swing and take a couple of mile per hour off. If you are a good ball striker, honestly if that swing speed you need something pretty firm and almost every tour golf ball on the market will be decent for giving for you. However, I can't not point out the vice Pro plus. I had amazing forgiveness results with it and it is for firmer.
Thank you very much. Honestly now that I think about it I could have just included Titleist as the whole brand. I also can't stand there tour soft or tour speed golf ball
Prov1s on here makes this laughable sorry ive played many balls nothing even close to and a friend same and swings in 90mph range. Some that are close like snell etc covers get scuffed up. Its best ball and for average player still the best and stats data shows same. Your forgiveness maybe look at your clubs. Geeez
Prov1 doesn't even make my top 10. It's not just overrated, it's just not keeping up with the industry. I even have a 109 club speed, the chrome soft and tp5 blow it out of the water even around the green, 5 piece golf balls are the real deal, and titleist still has people who refuse to research their balls duped into spending the same amount on decades old technology. The only thing titleist is the best at is spending money on advertising and endorsing pros to use their ball so they can say it's the most used ball on tour. Also, he said this list was for amateurs who can't swing over 100mph, which you need to get the most out of firm balls like the prov1. I test these on a launch monitor, the prov1 hasn't changed in years bc it doesn't have to, bc idiots will keep buying them bc of the name and price tag. It's the mac computer of golf balls.
@@chadthostenson5129 it blows away the industry quit talking stupid. Everybody who does a overall golf ball tester not paid prov1/x are too dog for a reason.
How about providing a chart on your web site showing the top 3 balls for the swing speed ranges of 65 to 75 mph, 75 to 85 and 85 to 95? I'd like to see a comparison. Perhaps you could break the selected ball out by 2 piece vs. 3 piece. Please share a link if you already have this and I just didn't see it. Thank you. I love your common sense approach.
Good information thanks. I'm an 18 handicapper, slow swing speed and I recently decided it's time to move up to a 3-piece ball. I've been searching in the budget 3-piece zone (sorry Titleist I'm not paying $60 a dozen). I had bought into all the marketing that slow swing speed players need soft balls and the 3-piece balls are a bit harder and outside of the traditional soft zone of 2-piece balls. That's one of the things that's held me back. MyGolfSpy ball test crew swears up and down that slow swing speed players should not be so concerned about low-compression balls. I finally bit the bullet and went with MaxFli Tour ball (85 compression). They are well-reviewed and the multi box (4) discount gets the price point down to a reasonable range (high 20's a dozen). It's early in my on-course use but wow I can really see how it sticks to a green if you strike an approach shot decent.
There's definitely a lot of opinions on golf ball compression. A couple of things to keep in mind here: For slow swingers I do still recommend lower compression golf balls, however that term is kind of relative. I still want to know how good of a player you are and how well you strike the iron. There are low compression golf balls that are three piece. Srixon q star tour, wright and ditson, oncore elixir, vice air, Chrome soft, just to name a few off the top of my head. For me the biggest question is how consistently you're striking the iron. The main difference I have found between firmer golf balls and softer golf balls is that when you Miss hit the softer golf balls, they forgive you so much more.
Im a mid HC and i want to play a urethane cover golf ball ! Im currently playing the chrome soft. What are your thoughts on the new chrome tour ? Sounds like I might have to check out the Vice Pro line ?
Definitely check out my top 20 golf ball list. I do like the Chrome tour but I think the Chrome soft has a better performance overall. Will need to be tested for sure. The vice line is definitely worth a shot
It really hit home when you talked about mishits . I’m in the 90-95 range and there have been times a ProV1 feels great , but my goodness I can clank one on the toe and goodnight Irene- my result is awful. I’m checking out your top 100 list
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback. I'm glad we shared some more experiences. It's actually the reason anytime I try to come back to the Pro V1 I just end up giving up on it again. Please do! You'll find plenty of great options in there that a variety of price points and performance numbers
So I have a slower swing speed but my smash factor on all the clubs is in the 1.4 range. As a perfectly average golfer, I lose maybe a ball or two a round. MyGolfSpy’s ball test found low compression was less important. I play a 3 piece (Snell when I have them, Supersoft when not) and recently tried TM tour stripe. I definitely think feel around the green is most important and I like soft “feel.” Do you think a Chromesoft is worth it? When do you think it’s time to “move up” to a 4 piece ball?
So I do disagree with the lower compression argument, but that's for a different day. Let me try to answer your question the best I can. To start off, yes the Chrome soft would be a good ball. It's lower compression allows for tour like feel for people who have average swing speeds. So it's definitely worth a try. I also love the vice ProAir for this too. Little bit better of a value. As far as when to move up to a four-piece golf ball, it kind of depends because all four piece golf balls are different and have different compressions. But in my experience, I would say about 85% of 4-Piece golf balls are even too firm for me to compress at 98 mph. Four piece territory is usually 105 mph or greater.
I've seen a lot of other testing that came out much different from yours on the Kirkland. A few yards shorter with more spin, but the biggest complaint was the durability. Problem for most golfers, myself included is that golf is way too expensive and most of us actually suck pretty badly at the game. Price of a cheap round of golf in my area is $50+. If you want a morning tee time on the weekend, break out $75 at a minimum. Ball price matters, especially when you might only hit it once or twice before you send it swimming or camping. I understand that we might not be playing our best golf with that ball, but most of us only get to play once or twice a month & hardly ever play our best golf anyway. Add the price of 10 lost golf balls at $3 each, then you're adding another $30 to a round that already cost $50+. Add a beer or 3 and before you know it your round of golf cost $100-$150. It's not dying on a hill for a golf ball. It's simple economics and saving money where I can allows me to play more golf if I can actually find the time.
So I agree with everything you just said. There's only one flaw in what you mentioned, the reason I created this channel was so that we could find the best performing golf balls for the money. It's one of the main target goals of the channel. With that being said, there are many many golf balls we have tested that are actually cheaper than the Kirkland that performed twice as good. I understand value matters, and I'm in that same boat. I refuse to spend more than $35 a dozen for golf balls. However the Kirkland is my 93rd ranked golf ball. The Wilson zip on the other hand, is my number two ranked golf ball and it's a dollar a golf ball. So what I really want all my viewers to understand is yes I understand you need value, but that doesn't mean you have to play a dog water golf ball.
@@GolfBallAddict I've never even seen that ball, but at that price, based on your recommendation, I just ordered 2 doz from Amazon for $29.97. Glad to see Wilson making a golf comeback. Them along with MacGregor were the kings of golf when I was a kid and working as a caddy, only with clubs, not balls. Titleist was king of golf balls back then too.
I've always liked the Maxfl Black Dot. Very satisfying feel ( when I hit it fairly square), get good distance and hold the green with my wedge shots. I'm 71, haven't had my swing speed checked but am usually 280 - 300 off a straight shot to the fairway, with a slight draw. Still using Macgregor persimmons from 1963, steel shaft, D4 (I think) swing weight. If my putting was better I might be able to break 80 consistently.
I have actually had quite a few people tell me that the old black dot model was really cool with the maxfly. Haven't had a chance to try them but I hear they're phenomenal
I haven’t done much research into balls, but I like playing chrome softs, I actually have a fairly high swing speed, but i’m also an inconsistent striker. I’m wondering if I made a mistake now trying a box of supersofts. I haven’t put them into play yet.
Thank you so much for your comment and for watching. Don't worry, it is never a mistake to try out a golf ball. The worst thing that could happen is you don't like them. With that being said, I do think you will overcompress them a little bit. You might lose some driver distance but you'll love the feel and forgiveness with the irons. It's a give and take. I too love Chrome softs. They're one of the most fastest, best forgiving tour balls I've tested.
I haven't bought a golf ball in years. That being said, I have had luck, ( low rounds ), with Wilson, Top Flite, Vice, Bridgestone, Kirkland, and Calloway. Don't ask what model, couldn't tell you. 69 years old, playing Galloway clubs from 1996, X12's, except for the driver, five years old, and a new seven wood, which I love. Maybe would like the new 2 wood, maybe. Swing speed, roughly eighty five to ninety mph? Everyone has different needs. Trial and error. Thanks for the video.
I swing about 95mph, slightly more from time to time. I’m a golf ball nut. I’ve tried many, the ProvV1 performs the best for me. I recently played a Mizuno RB Tour and loved it. I’m a 14 handicap. What would you recommend?
I had much better success with the Mizuno tour x. I think it's a much better golf ball and worth a shot. Also, the vice pro, the vice Pro Plus, are great alternatives. Don't sleep on snell either. Same designer as the pro v1 one.
@@GolfBallAddict I like the Snell, it plays nice but nowhere near as durable as the Pro V1. That’s the most underrated aspect of the Pro V1. Most durable ball.
I'm 75 and have been playing the Bridgestone e12 lately. I found one some weeks back, played it, and loved the hard to quantify feel at impact. I also loved the straight shots I hit and decided this was the way to go so, if it's working, don't fix it.
Thank you. I am still trying to figure out my ball. Callaway super soft I have tried and wont go back. I am 44 with a swing speed of less than 85. I have tried to get that to go higher but I lose all swing control on my driver. I do tend to like the Tailormade Noodle. But I am still looking for that perfect ball.
Thank you for your comment. I really appreciate it. Definitely check out my top 10 golf balls list and who knows there might be something on there for you. Maybe even in the top 20 as well
Great review … I’m an average golfer of 15 handicap w swing speed slightly below 90… tried many diff balls… finally was introduced to PHYZ 4-pc ball.. which I find really nice soft feel and good distance …. Found out it’s a Bridgestone ball sold for the Japanese market but could be found on Amazon… price wise it’s really cheap… would be great if you could try it and do a review and advise us what kind of golfers might find them suitable 🙏
Thank you so much for watching and sharing your feedback. I have not heard of that golf ball but I will definitely take a look and see if I can snag a couple for a review.
Not that this is really important but when you were talking about TP5 and TP5x and showed the pro’s names/pictures, Many of them don’t use Taylormade balls at all? Am I missing something?
I just showed the team TaylorMade picture from the website. The majority of those guys use TaylorMade clubs, not golf balls. Which also kind of tells you something
Single digit hcp 70 years old. PROV1 best for me and I've tried them all. Cracks me up when people I know put out thousands for custom fit clubs with upgrade shafts and then play crap or refurbished balls.
LOL I know. The opposite also gets me, I see people come pay $250 for a golf round all the time and they have clubs from the '90s. Also they are usually driving a Porsche or a Mercedes or something. I understand if you have clubs you like and if it ain't broke don't fix it, but my goodness could you get something from the century at least? 😂
Genuine question, you said all Taylormade balls, what’s your opinion on Noodles? As a beginner golfer these are my go to for cheap balls, since I generally lose them quickly haha
Very interesting. But you definitely need to test the latest versions of the balls. I just turned 83, have played for over 62 years, have a 16-17 handicap I hope to lower. Obviously swing speed has declined with age. And I still play forged blades with weak lofts (34 degree 7 iron). I get carry of 190-200 and total distance of about 210-220 with an occasional 235 with my driver, so last year moved up to the 5800-6200 tees in order to have second shots into the par 4s of 110-160 yards. Also replaced my 3,4 and 5 irons with a 7 wood and 9 wood. So I have become very interested in finding a ball that will give me 5 or 10 yards more distance on drives. But like many mid-handicappers I often miss a green short or to either side and face a pitch or chip with a wedge. Make a lot of use of my 60 degree lob wedge for 20 to 50 yard pitches. Have no trouble hitting it high on to the green. But for either a full approach shot with anything from a pitching wedge to a 6 iron, and for those LW pitches, I would like to also find a ball that has a lot of greenside spin so that my shots won't roll off firm fast greens. More distance on drives, yet better stopping with irons and wedges. That's asking a lot. Usually you can get one or the other, not both. I am a member at the PGA Super Store in Rockville, Maryland, and have taken advantage of their practice bays with overhead Foresight launch monitors to test literally dozens of different balls for hours, from the Wilson Duo and Callway Super Soft all the way up to the Pro V1X left dash. Played with them as well. And I have also closely studied the results of the My Golf Spy ball tests for lower swing speeds. Call me a weirdo golf nerd. Lately I have found that the Wilson Triad is a pretty good all around choice. Compared it with the latest Callaway Super Soft is, which is improved, gives good distance on drives, but you definitely loose 1000 rpm or more spin on wedge shots. If you rub one of them, you can feel they have a much "stickier" surface than any tour ball, no doubt to increase friction and spin, but still. I would agree with you that when I have looked at the data with many other balls, at my swing speed I definitely do not get max distance from either the Titleist ProV1 or V1x or left dash V1x, and also do not get max distance from the Bridgestone balls for swing speeds under 105, either the RX or RXS. It takes using the launch monitor to tell that, since mid-handicappers like me simply don't produce sufficiently precise and consistent results out on the course on which to base a determination.
That is quite a lot of great information. Thank you for taking the time to post it. I agree with most of what you said. That's awesome that you get to hit in their bays and get some really good data from it. There are a lot of guys that would love to have that information
Man, I was channeling you throughout this video. I guessed 4 out of 5! I've tested these myself except the Kirkland and that may be why I didn't get that one, way off my radar I guess. Anyway, my experiences with these are very similar to yours. Keep posting great content a huge thumbs up on this one. You are in my "top five" channels my friend and I appreciate all the hard work you put in week to week.
I have reviewed both the regular version as well as the divide. It made it to number six on my top 100 golf balls. It's definitely one of my favorites. It does need an updated review for 2024 though
I've always thought the prov1 was overrated myself. It's a nice ball but I don't get the hype. I just tried the TP5 this year and have had the best results from it. Feels the best off the face of the club and it's given me my best spin results by miles. Really like that ball. Also just tried the Kirkland balls for the first time this spring. I did enjoy them but noticed they scuff up very easy and the distance wasn't the best. Callaway Warbird are my favorite if I'm just looking for distance and good ball roll.
Love the feedback here. Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us about it. I can't wait to try the new tp5 I've had people tell me the results are much much better. Hopefully Taylor made is on the right track. If you're a fast swinger than the warbird probably would work out really well. There are a lot of people who enjoy the feel of the golf ball.
Good explanation of your research and how you apply it to the average golfer. Appreciate the information, it’s really helped my game trying different golf balls you recommend. Legato’s in the mail!!
@@GolfBallAddict- compared the Legato to my Srixon Soft Feel last night in our Thursday Scramble. Legato was shorter off the Tee and felt a little thuddy, almost heavier? Irons to green I liked it better and same with putting. It did have a weird paint damage thing going on. Looked like a gray undercoating emerged. Paint did not look gone. Just weird.
I'm a single digit senior player who has told other seniors for years that the ProV1 is a TERRIBLE ball for seniors. Low compression 2 piece is the way to gol. One of the guys who argued with me constantly about this recently (finally) gave low compression balls a try, and he is now very sorry he waited so long to make the switch. He's consistently 15 yards longer and has reeled off 20 straight rounds in the 70s, his best stretch in years. Seniors and slower swingers, please pay attention, ProV1 is NOT the best ball for your game.
Couldn't agree with you more. Thank you so much for sharing this. It's something I've noticed as well not only in senior players but just average swingers. When my swing speed was 92 mph with a driver I saw drastically better results with two-piece for giving golf balls.
it just means you lack the power to compress the ball at 100mph swing speeds. I'm 53 and hit an average of 97mph iron shots. If you swing below 90-yeah you can't handle compression anymore.
@@ddeboy002 That's exactly the point we were making. Most seniors don't swing 97+ (by the way, I still was at 53 years old also, so don't count on that lasting), so the ProV1 is no longer the ball for them. Try to keep the arrogant attitude, though. That can last a lifetime and stays just as appealing no matter the age.
Compression is irrelevant outside of how a ball feels. Firmer compression golf balls are faster for all speeds. Think about how fast LPGA players swing, average is about 94 miles an hour, and most of them play firm compression balls like prov1 or prov1x. Are you saying they play the wrong ball?
@@loganjensen9983 Faster doesn't mean longer, that is a common misconception. Launch angle, spin, shot shape, and other factors all play a role also. LPGA players have the tech help and the skill to maximize all of these to the ball they play. Amateurs do not. As has been shown by tournaments where scratch amateurs play from the same tees as the lady pros, skill levels are not even on the same planet. The ladies destroy those guys. So really, just stop applying the pro game to amateurs. There is virtually no relationship.
I will be making a video about it soon. But yes I am so thankful. I really appreciate everyone who's been here for the Long haul. This wouldn't have been possible without you guys 😁💯🙏
I'm 7 HC and my club head speed is around high 90 to low 100. I played Pro V1x for years and just like you said trying other golf balls became the biggest challenge. I finally switched to Bridgestone Tour B-Rx last year and it took me around 1-2 months to get used to it, but once I trusted my new golf ball I never look back. Any other Bridgestone ball such as e12 is exactly what u mentioned. I do also agree about Kirkland ball.
Hey that's awesome. I completely agree about the learning curve. I try to tell people it takes time to get used to a golf ball but some people are afraid of change and I understand that to a degree.
An eye opener for me was when I played with one of our young members who plays off 3… What ball do you use? “Whatever is in the bag.” He was hitting that TaylorMade distance ball you mentioned. And shot 3 over for the round.
That's awesome. What I'm trying to do with my channel is encourage people to really get fitted. Which is hard to do because there aren't many fitting places that will do it. I try to use my channel as a guide for that. There are swing speeds and player types that perform better with different types of golf balls. It all depends on what your needs are on the course. I switch golf balls depending on what style of course I'm playing, how good or bad I've recently been playing, all kinds of stuff
Nice. I didn't have much luck with the avx, then again I don't have a problem hitting the ball very high in the air. So a lower launching golf ball didn't do much for me
heads up, i think your image for golfers that use the tp5 is off. i am pretty sure scottie doesn't use tp5. i think he uses a prov. That being said. love the wilson zip core, been loving that recommendation and recommended it to a coworker!
Thank you for the heads up. Team Taylormade doesn't have a picture for who uses their balls exclusively. However it makes you wonder why more of them aren't playing it... I am so glad it worked out for you! 😀
@@GolfBallAddict you would think they would want to share stuff like who uses their ball, unless they don’t have much to share?? It also makes me wonder how much do pros give up for contracts. Like are they leaving wins on the table for a paycheck with their club deals?
Hello. Love the Channel! I just started playing golf less than two years ago (Long-time Tournament tennis player). I assume my swing speed is in the low to mid 80s. I have been using the Callaway SuperSoft and I'm reasonable happy. Two quick questions - How do I know which year they were manufactured? Also... I have a box of the ERC Soft that I have never used. Might they be a better option? Thanks!
The ERC is a good option but keep in mind it is for a little bit advanced player. If you find yourself shooting in the 80s it's a good ball but if you're still shooting 90s to 100s I would stick to two piece. As far as being able to tell the model, it's all about the alignment tool. Go on calloway's website to see what the current alignment tool looks like and compare it to what you have. From there you can kind of Google and see which model for each year and what they had
Great question. Here are some of my thoughts without testing it for myself: I am sure it works. It makes sense from a science standpoint. However, I am also worried that some will use it as an excuse. Most average players probably wont notice minor imbalances. I will definitely be doing a test of my own soon!
I hate the Taylormade distance. Bought one dozen and was really disappointed. Found a few Kirkland Ver II and was not impressed with them. Thanks for all of your hard work:)
Thank you so much. I appreciate you taking the time to comment to help this video out. Yes anyone who thinks they might like the TaylorMade distance I've just been telling them to do the speed soft. Way better in my opinion
I agree. I bought a dozen exoecting decent results but thought it was almost false marketing. "Distance" didn't really seem to be a trademark of this ball.
Nailed it! I agree with what you have presented here. And I very much like how you have said that two piece balls can be better for average and even well above average golfers than many if not most urethane covered golf balls. Most golfers aren’t going to shoot lower scores because they played a golf ball that spins more on wedges and partial wedges. They are going to shoot lower scores by playing a golf ball that goes a little further, and curves a little less in the air, like many two piece golf balls.
That is the case for many golfers. Including myself even. I've played some of my best rounds with balls like the Wilson zip and the Snell get sum. Every time I try a three or four piece tour ball it seems like I just don't play as well. Miss hits punish me and I get way more side spend on drives
This may be the best take I've seen so far. Lol. I'm honestly surprised I did not mention it in my video, it must have slipped my mind. Let me definitely clarify, any of bridgestone's three-piece or more golf balls are overrated. They're two-piece models are excellent
Great reviews as always, Nick. Has your opinion of the BRX-S changed from your positive review in the past? My recollection is that that you got good numbers and good forgiveness and that it seemed like that was the one B-ball you liked. Thanks again for everything you do!
Really liked this video! I've been golfing (trying to golf) since I was a kid. Trying all different balls and clubs. I have found that the Noodle Long & Soft is a pretty good ball for me. I also like the Srixon. Have you done any testing on the Noodle line? I would be interested in seeing you review of them.
Very brave to put this video out, but you are so right. There are golf balls out there which are so forgiving for us average swing speed golfers. I still use the Inesis 900 but also trying the Jayllah ball. Your top 20 list gave many 2 piece balls that are forgiving for the average golfer and cost competitive. People just need to open their eyes and try something that Rory or Tiger would never use.
Love them. The old models were ranked very high on my list and I enjoyed them very much, however the brand new 2024 versions of every golf ball they have blew my mind. Some of the best performance numbers I've ever gotten and not to mention incredible value and design. A+
Every time i lose a MaxFli, I find a ProV1... 😂 I'm trying the new Kirkland this season, but i haven't played enough rounds to judge the distance being the ball vs my bad shots. Seems like it flies the same as my StraightFli's, but I'm not good enough to really judge the balls best vs best performance, as my strikes aren't always consistent. The Kirkland ball does seem to check up MUCH better on the green than the MaxFli balls do, though. I also like putting the Kirkland more, as it's more of a "clink" and a MaxFli feels/sounds like a soft rock. 165 ball speed... 22 hc... Over here hoping that I'm just the right ball away from finally playing bogey golf.. 😂 (Or lessons....... nah 😅)
I was sweating a little as a long-time E6 player, but I like the cost and "uniqueness," and not that I have a lot of specific knowledge about golf balls but I can see where you're coming from. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I went from playing 2024 Chrome Soft to 2020 ProV 1s because they had been sitting around new in the box, so I said what the heck, use them up. I lost 5 -10 yards on every single iron shot. For 2 weeks I couldn't figure out why I was coming up just short of the greens on every single iron shot, and I was getting pissed. A buddy asked me if I changed balls and a light bulb went off. I grabbed the Chrome Softs out of the bag and was immediately hitting back onto the greens. So I can appreciate the review. My swing speed is just too low for PROV1s. I tried the Kirklands also and gave them away after only playing 2 rounds with them. Just didn't like the feel. Keep up the honest and good work!
Great video as always! Played with a 115 swing speed player who played the Kirkland ball. I had a couple extra Chrome Tour's and gave to him as I only swing 85 and couldn't use them. What a difference he felt. I even saw MGS said Kirkland is the worst ball in golf this week. Looking forward to when/if you do the SpeedSoft vs Q Star Tour review. Those are the 2 balls I have in bag and am having a very hard time settling on one. Yoru help would be greatly appreciated.
I really enjoy these videos. As a retired 74 year old losing swing speed, I’ve been trying a lot of balls. Agree with your assessments and didn’t like the Supersoft even at my swing speed . Not very forgiving. I’ve tried all the mid- 3 piece urethane balls and like the Q-Star Tour. The ball I’ve had the best luck with is the Bridgestone TreSoft. Unfortunately hard to find in the US. Meijer has stopped selling them. Still advertised on the Australian Bridgestone website. Similar to E6. Recently trying the Maxfli Tour S and Wilson Zip as I’m looking for a replacement for the Treosoft when they run out. Trying the Zio based on your video.
@@GolfBallAddict Wilson Zip wasn’t as good for me as I expected. Not bad and comparable type ball at 50 compression to my gamer. I was Looking for more distance as an 80 mph senior so I switched to a 12 degree driver and started re-testing balls. I got the best results with the Maxfli Tour S. It even out performed my old standby Bridgestone TreoSoft. I tested several balls with GPS on two different courses. They were urethane mid price and two piece lower price. The much cheaper TreoSoft was second but now is only available in Australia. That is what started me looking for a new ball. I love the Q Star Tour but driver distance was lacking by a lot. Best around the greens and accurate. I was very surprised the Maxfli Tour S performed the way it did. Long and forgiving with all clubs. Not as good around the greens for a urethane ball but rollout not bad. I’ll continue using Treosoft but will phase Maxfli Tour S in. Occasionally I use Q Star tour on shorter holes.
i’m playing the Nitro Ultimate Distance. 32$ for 45 balls at walmart. shot an 81, didn’t lose a ball. low spin but hey, my ball doesn’t fly all over the place if i miss hit it. don’t care if i lose one. peace of mind does come into play when you’re not stressing over a 5$ ball.
A very interesting review. Thank you. Personally, I love the Bridgestone Tour B balls (I've tried the XS, RXS & the RX). But, I'm 69 years old, swing the driver at 80mph, and play off 12.7!!! Yet, on the windy links in the South of England that I play, they work for me! I agree with you about the ProV1, and the Kirkland, as i can't get on with either! Great show by the way! I really enjoy your insight, even though I disagree with some of your conclusions. Why? Because you make me think, and consider why I've made my decision on the golf balls that I want to play! It's a good job that we're all different, isn't it?
Oh absolutely. It's one of the things that makes reviewing golf ball so fun. If everybody had the same reaction to a golf ball my channel wouldn't last very long. But the fact that every swing and player is different always keeps it interesting
I'm a mid/high handicap golfer, will be turning 60 soon, and swing my driver 95-100 mph. I've been trying many different balls this year to find what works best for me. I like the TP5, the Tour Response, and the Wilson Staff, although the TP5 and Wilson are a little firm around the green. However, I still PLAY the Kirkland, most of the time. You're probably right, I'm probably giving up a little performance. I just don't believe the difference is worth paying 3-4x as much. My hope is that the Kirkland will continue to improve and that it will force other brands to price their offerings more competitively.
I'm in complete agreeance that I don't want to pay a bunch of money for something I can get the similar performance with at half the cost. However I would ask that you please check out my top 10 videos list. There are so many golf balls that cost exactly the same price as the Kirkland but will actually help you opposed to lose distance.
On a retiree's budget Titleist balls are out of reach financially but as you pointed out, the OPB's I've played (Other People's Balls🙂) I've noticed the same results as you have. I gave Kirkland's a try last year and found them too spinny and really easy to scuff. If you pay a $1.15 a ball but take 4 out of play for scuffs every round you might as well light your money on fire! This year I am a tried and true Maxfli Tour player. 48 balls for $109 (on sales) not too hard and not too spinny either. I get through a round with the same ball (unless I decide to swim with the fish) and love the consistent distance I'm getting. I'm almost afraid to sing their praises too much for fear Dick's will jack up the $$ but it's a great ball at a value $$ PS: The Tour X was too hard for me so I'm happy with the Tour.....
I've had a lot of feedback that maxfly has improved their models for 2024. I'm super excited to test them out. I know a lot of people really enjoy them
i am also a maxfli tour convert great balls…unfortunately the price for the 2024’s has jumped up to $160 for the 48ct…byswell just play the bridgestone for $40 a dozen
Yes. When you fully compress a golf ball you will know it. Jumps off the club like a rocket. If you are feeling some tingle in your hands, it means you either mis hit it or its too firm.
Thays why 90% of average golfers will never get better. They're not open to the idea of other options and not just golf balls. You wouldn't believe how may average golfers play with blades!!
Oh it blows my mind. And an absolutely makes me sick to my stomach. I have so many coworkers and Friends who are trying to get better and shoot below 90, and they're buying these $1,700 unforgiving blades. Honestly I'm at a point where I don't care how good I get I don't see myself ever getting blades. I'll take the forgiveness all day everyday
Not just play them but I always see comments of "you suck and only hit a 8i x distance because your playing game improvement" like are they legal? Yes. Then leave people alone man if you want more distance buy those irons if you want the blade feel buy those but don't criticize others for buying what fits them lol golf egos are a wild thing lol
Hi i have been loving the wilson zip lately and checked Wilson's website to see if they are still making them when i went to the website i cant find it on there. They have seemed to have revamped all of the vaule balls this year to a ultra straight and ultra distance and something else. Maybe Worth a look
Yes I'm really nervous that they discontinued the zip. If that's the case I will have to do a full testing of all their golf balls they offer both on their website and Walmart stores. Hopefully I can find a decent replacement if that's the case
Oh I agree. I wish I still had the video of the one from the top flight. Some dude absolutely died on the hill for the top flight ball and left it all on the line. LOL I was kind of speechless
So I’m confused….i see you speak highly of E6 here so I went and found your e6 review and you didn’t seem to like it at all and the driver numbers were bad. What am I missing here?
Good question. First of all, "speaking highly" might be a stretch. I like the e6, but that's about it. It's the only Bridgestone ball that has"eye popping" numbers in any way (9 iron and hybrid specifically) driver numbers were average. E6 could have performed better, but keep in mind on my review I get VERY picky.
@@GolfBallAddict the E6 review of yours I watched showed the driver at poor to very poor I thought. It’s no biggie, I was just surprised you liked it based on your review video, but that was a while back
I agree with everything about TaylorMade. Never liked them except the INK ball. Too hard, feels like hitting a rock off your clubface. Thats what a FEEL player will tell you cause I just did. I prefer the CHROME TOUR or CHROME SOFT, or a ProV1. At age 60, Ive gotten pretty used to the distance and spin I get from these. And my yardages stay where I expect them to, even on a misshit.
great vid, thanks. 11 hcp here and I play Bridgestone, but ONLY the E6. As a 65 yo, swinging 90-95mph, I will take your advice and have a look around the market this year..
Have you ever tried Seed balls? I’d be interested to get your review on those, always online claiming to be a ProV beater etc etc blah blah. I tried some of their SD-X1, and they were ok, but found they marked up and damaged easily. Be good if you reviewed them against the competition like you have the rest.
@@GolfBallAddict Be interesting to see you revisit it, as they've recently revised the SD-X1 which is firmer, as well as the SD-02 Tour ball which is firmer still.
I buy optima golf balls from Big W (Australian department store) I get a box of 30 for $28 ive been playing golf for 40 years and i cant tell the difference between them and premium balls that are $7 each
I always played 2 piece balls because that's what the "Internet" says I should play because I have a slow swing speed (~85mph w/driver) and high handicap (21). A few months ago I found a ProV1 on the 5th hole and decided to play it the rest of the round. I had some of the longest and best hits I've ever had. So I decided to buy a dozen and I feel like I play a lot better with them. I'm getting more distance, accuracy, and getting the ball to stop on the green. My local shop sells used, excellent condition, ProV1s for $15/dozen. So I'm going to stick with them since I play better with them and they're cheaper than most 2 piece balls out there.
I'll have to definitely take your word for it. I would encourage somehow to try a golf ball fitting. I mean if it isn't broke don't fix it, but it wouldn't be the first time someone has swore up and down to me that they played better with the Pro V1 and then after the fitting was done they found four or five golf balls that give them better numbers. It never hurts to try it just to see if something performs a little better Thank you so much for your feedback though, as well as watching and commenting. It helps the video and channel a lot 😁😃
I don't blame you. I was just telling someone else how not only does srixon continue to provide amazing golf balls across the board, but now their clubs are all in the top three of every division as well. I love the run they're on right now
When I played in highschool we were given pro v1s for the last ten years that’s all I’ve played and I’ve experienced the unforgiving nature of them. However I never realized how in forgiving they were till I started playing som softer options I finally settled on the callaway chrome soft and I feel I’m a lot less stressed if I don’t hit it just right.
Played with a buddy this past weekend. He was excited to try the KS balls he just got. It was the first time all summer i was out driving him and it was by 15 to 20 yards. That spinny property kills distance for KS balls.
Just found your channel, and was pleased to see your honesty. I started falling into the Kirkland trap, but found myself playing better with other balls. I am checking out your top 20 next so I can see what to try next... crazy how people get so rude.
Thank you very much for checking out the channel and the reviews. It takes a little time to invest at this point, but I think if you do you'll find amazing results with golf balls you've never heard of 🤠😁
I mean you find them everywhere. It's crazy to me that if you find a ball in the woods there's a 50% chance it's a pro v1. Especially with over 150 different golf ball makers
I give the Pro v1’s away too. Just wish someone was giving me Maxfli Tour S’s back or the MF Tour but there aren’t too many to be found in my area as the nearest Dick’s is an hour away.
I'm a senior golfer with disabilities so my swing speed is severely compromised. Three so called off brands I found to be very helpful in my gaining distance are Oncore Avant 55, Legato, and Zeo Friction Spectra. Also the Super Soft works well too!!!!!
Great video. I do play a Supersoft, but I'm not wedded to it - as a senior golfer who started playing golf only a few years ago, I was also sucked in by the ProV1 hype and bought and lost a heap of them. After trying dozens of other (cheaper) balls I actually settled on a Srixon Ultisoft for a while and moved to various Callaway balls including the Supersoft. I also quite like the Titleist True Feel but they are starting to get up there in price. A friend recently bought some Kirkland Signatures - we both tried them and we both were less than impressed - no feel at all.
Thank you very much for sharing your feedback. I also like the trufeel but I agree, it's pricey for what it is. I haven't tested the ultisoft but I had a couple of request for it.
LOL I got to make sure to lock my doors at night now 😂 I would absolutely love for Titleist to give me a call. It would be me standing my ground about their golf ball well then proceeding to Fanboy about their clubs and drivers and asking for samples 😂
Why would any sane person make profane and ugly comments because someone did not like a certain golf ball?
They're not sane. They're subhuman with no brains or class. I couldn't believe my ears when Nick mentioned that.
My favorite of all time was on a top flight golf ball. I honestly was laughing so hard I thought I was going to be in tears. I expect certain followings to be really passionate about their golf balls, but never have I had a negative comment to that degree on a top flight. You just never know what you're going to see on here 😂
What about top flight plus? Feels like a rock but always liked them for some reason, very bouncy for sure.
@@GolfBallAddict😂😂😂 Classic
The Supersoft is an excellent option for you. Consider the Snell 2.0 as well.
I am older than you are and like Titleist ok, but found the Vice Tour to be as good.
I think the AVX travels further too

Strike ball correctly you get good results regardless how expensive or cheap the ball is. Make poor contact you get poor result how expensive or poor golf ball is.

I'm starting to believe that it really doesn't matter what anyone on TH-cam has to say it all comes down to what we like..
Surprised but...not surprised. I am an older golfer 57 but swing the club 106-110 and range between 3-5 hdcp. I REALLY like the Pro V1 but I am disgusted by the price.
My driver swing speed is now 85 mph. What golf ball do you recommend? Thanks.
Definitely a softer two piece or three piece.

Oncore Avant 55
precept laddie
wilson zip
pinnacle rush

if you want a three piece:
q star tour
Vice pro Air
oncore elixr
Thank you!
The amount of Pro V1s I find in the woods when I inevitably lose my ball is insane.
And not just regular pro v1s, but also old models, really old models, fakes, and refurbished. People do anything to say they're playing one
Couldn’t agree more.. more than 50% of lost balls I find are Pro-V1s….
Same
Never bought a Prov1 in my life. I usually play them because I find so many lol. Great ball
Great take here. Love the feedback and couldn't agree more. Consistency is key and it sounds like you've got that baby really dialed in 😁
I disagree. The quality of the Kirkland ball is awful. No one ball is like the other. This is why a tour ball is so much better and why you pay $55-$60 for a dozen of Titleist Golf balls than the cheaper ones, its the quality and consistency ball for ball, that is what you are paying for.
@@digger11000my agreement was for the channel owner saying was Kirkland balls are not good.
@@digger11000 They got you sucked in didn't they.
Prov1 is the best ball, period
I swing my driver about 110-115 and I need to start playing a consistent ball for next high school season, what ball would suit me best?
You need to stick to a higher compression golf ball. Definitely an x model or a four piece I don't know what your handicap is but I imagine if you're playing competitively in high school you should at least be using something like that. Is price a factor?
Price is a factor until I get consistent enough to where I don’t lose that many balls. I don’t keep a handicap, but I tend to play in the high 70s and low 80s
@@LouisFlipini-zm2ncthat all depends on how you score. Some guys say the shoot 80s but take all puts within 5 feet LOL.
Srixon Softfeel user, checking in. 🫡
@@GolfBallAddictYes their new irons are really sharp looking
So what’s a good suggestion on a high swing speed forgiving golf ball. 117 driver speed
I love when you put Titleist on blast...makes me feel better for not shelling out the $$$ :) Great vid as always
@@chadthostenson5129 when u said chrome soft u lost all credibility. Yet u go to any amatuer event where not paid 80+% are using them.
I'll probably eventually just make videos on this stuff. Probably later in the year
Good information thanks.
A couple of things to keep in mind here:
For slow swingers I do still recommend lower compression golf balls, however that term is kind of relative.
@GolfBallAddict Thanks ! Will do. 🏌♂️
It really hit home when you talked about mishits .

I love the maxfli cd ball range either the 90 or the 100.

Hard to think of getting something different than the X-12’s huh? I’ve had mine since new in 98, still love them.
Never heard of Galloway clubs..
I agree 100%. If you like the way the golf balls coming off the club and you enjoy how it performs, then keep using it.
Thank you. I am still trying to figure out my ball. Callaway super soft I have tried and wont go back. I am 44 with a swing speed of less than 85.
😂😂😂 Thats great. I agree

They are ok. I prefer the Precept Laddie or the Pinnacle though.
@@GolfBallAddict cool! I give those a shot, thank you!
So which ball do you suggest for a 9 handicapper 66 year old with a 91mph ?
I would check out some of my recent reviews. Vice air, wright and ditson, legato, etc
Man, I was channeling you throughout this video. I guessed 4 out of 5! I've tested these myself except the Kirkland and that may be why I didn't get that one, way off my radar I guess.

Which ball is best for high handicapers
Have you rated the Wilson Staff Duo Soft for us grumpy old 75 mph guys? Longer than others IMHO.
I have. It's an amazing golf ball and the feedback from consumers has been nothing short of incredible.
Seems like subs have doubled since the beginning of this year 😎 glad this one’s gotten the views it deserves bro
"The difference between a $1 dollar golf ball and a $3 dollar golf ball --------- is $2 dollars" Leslie Nielsen
Lol you have already made a friend on the channel and me for the comment and the Leslie Nielsen reference 😁😂
An eye opener for me was when I played with one of our young members who plays off 3…
What ball do you use?
“Whatever is in the bag.”
He was hitting that TaylorMade distance ball you mentioned.
AVX and Srixon QSTar Tour for me. Low spin bomb (AVX) or stick greens (Srixon). 88mph swing
Nice. I didn't have much luck with the avx, then again I don't have a problem hitting the ball very high in the air. So a lower launching golf ball didn't do much for me
AVX lowers my spin off driver which really helps my distance.
heads up, i think your image for golfers that use the tp5 is off. i am pretty sure scottie doesn't use tp5. i think he uses a prov.
Played ProV1’s and TP5’s… but I’ve been playing the Vice Pro/Pro Plus and I love them.
Especially the new 2024 models. I was absolutely blown away at how amazing they performed
I d say try the Wilson duo soft the red ones
Pro V1,,,, the emperors new clothes. (You probably need to be old like me to understand that one)
LOL I love the reference. I definitely have met a couple of people that that applies to 100%.
Do you remember playing the Balata balls?
New to the channel do you tink the float test Bryson does has merit?
Great question. Here are some of my thoughts without testing it for myself:
I am sure it works.
Terrible ball! One of the worst balls I’ve ever played.
Loved this approach. You covered a lot of ground. Thanks for your enthusiasm and “outside the box thinking”.
Thank you very much. Appreciate the love and the loyalty when watching videos.
Umm how can you say Bridgestone is overrated when Bridgestone makes the precept laddie extreme
The Noodle tested ok for me but there are plenty of people who love them. I really enjoy the Srixon Soft feel and the Wilson Duo Soft
Thank you so much John for the comment. I'm going to get my hands on that j a y l l a h ball one way or another
What is your opinion on vice golf balls?
I'm trying the new Kirkland this season, but i haven't played enough rounds to judge the distance being the ball vs my bad shots.
(Or lessons....... nah 😅)
Sounds like you're definitely on the right track. Thanks so much for sharing your feedback 😁
Everytime I lose a MaxFli I find a Titleist.😂😂😂😂 Quote of the day. Great stuff
I was sweating a little as a long-time E6 player, but I like the cost and "uniqueness," and not that I have a lot of specific knowledge about golf balls but I can see where you're coming from. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I love the e6. Definitely my Bridgestone ball of choice currently
An 8 hcp is NOT average!!!
I apologize for any confusion. I meant my swing speed is average, not my handicap.
Either is 90 swing speed for an iron.
Average /= Casual
@@timdesoto3138 I think it's 90mph for driver
It's real man. I still get doubters but I just wish they understood how the compression works in that regard. We will continue to spread the news😁
Thank you so much for the feedback. That's actually a really good comparison. Wouldn't mind doing that myself.
@@GolfBallAddict I'd like to see that one too.
Thank you so much for your feedback and your assessment. Please let me know how you end up liking the zip. 😃
I guess I will have to give nitro a try😔🥳
I agree I also play nitro ultimate distance! They’re awesome he should check it out
A very interesting review.
One of the best golf ball review channel's with truthful honest feed back without unnecessary or biased promotion of the top brands.
Thank you very much for the positive feedback and love. 😃🥳
Those Kirklands feel like a rock coming off my club sometimes for me. Is that what not getting the compression feels like?
Anybody who cusses someone out because of what is said about a golf ball needs serious counseling.
I love the ink as well. I think they did a phenomenal job with it.
I also really love the Chrome tour and Chrome soft.
great vid, thanks. 11 hcp here and I play Bridgestone, but ONLY the E6. As a 65 yo, swinging 90-95mph, I will take your advice and have a look around the market this year..
The e6 is definitely one of the few balls I would recommend. However it never hurts to try a few more out
Wilson zip and wilson duo soft great balls I swing iron in low 80 mph and driver low 90s perfect balance and forgiveness in the zip and duo soft
The soft Wilson golf balls are something else man. I am absolutely love how soft they are in forgiving. I also gain distances
@GolfBallAddict yeah check up on green isn't as good but putter feels great to really nice roll to them
Have you ever tried Seed balls? I’d be interested to get your review on those, always online claiming to be a ProV beater etc etc blah blah. I tried some of their SD-X1, and they were ok, but found they marked up and damaged easily.
Be good if you reviewed them against the competition like you have the rest.
I reviewed the prosoft model but I found it to be just slightly too soft for me. I'm interested to try the pro to see if it does any better
@@GolfBallAddict Be interesting to see you revisit it, as they've recently revised the SD-X1 which is firmer, as well as the SD-02 Tour ball which is firmer still.
Just because they have great vodka and cheap hot dogs, doesn’t mean they have great golf balls.
LOL nothing quite hits like a $1.50 hot dog and drink combo
I buy optima golf balls from Big W (Australian department store) I get a box of 30 for $28 ive been playing golf for 40 years and i cant tell the difference between them and premium balls that are $7 each
That's awesome. There are some great models that are only a dollar per ball in US. I'm sure aus prices are a little different
It never hurts to try it just to see if something performs a little better
Thank you so much for your feedback though, as well as watching and commenting. It helps the video and channel a lot 😁😃
Then what is the best ball for a slower swing speed?
Wilson zip, Snell get sum or 2.0. Pinnacle soft and rush are really good. Maxfli straight fli and soft fli as well
Yep, that list is a great starting point for slow swing speeds. Good job on your posts! @@GolfBallAddict Yep,
I was testing a lot and always returned to Srixon.
I don't blame you. I was just telling someone else how not only does srixon continue to provide amazing golf balls across the board, but now their clubs are all in the top three of every division as well. I love the run they're on right now
Have you done OnCore golf ball?
Sure have. I have done the whole lineup except for the Vero XP
Still loving the maxfli tours
Don't worry that review is coming.
These balls are underated and are on the Gold Medal list.
Chrome soft is much more forgiving. Agree 100%
Just stumbled onto your channell new subscriber
Welcome aboard!
Played with a buddy this past weekend. He was excited to try the KS balls he just got. It was the first time all summer i was out driving him and it was by 15 to 20 yards. That spinny property kills distance for KS balls.
Same result I got. Absolute massive amounts of distance lost from both the V2 and the V3 with the kirkland.
I like this guy. He gets it and he’s not afraid to say it.
Thank you very much. I appreciate the positive feedback.
I always tell everyone, I don't talk trash I just state facts lol
Just found your channel, and was pleased to see your honesty. I started falling into the Kirkland trap, but found myself playing better with other balls. I am checking out your top 20 next so I can see what to try next... crazy how people get so rude.
Thank you very much for checking out the channel and the reviews. It takes a little time to invest at this point, but I think if you do you'll find amazing results with golf balls you've never heard of 🤠😁
I have had ProV1's in my bag because they are the ones I most find in the trees. I give them away. It's like hitting a stone.
I mean you find them everywhere. It's crazy to me that if you find a ball in the woods there's a 50% chance it's a pro v1. Especially with over 150 different golf ball makers
@@GolfBallAddict As you say, the power of marketing.
I absolutely love the avant 55. I don't see too many people mention it. That's awesome!
Great informative video, thank you
Thank you very much. I appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment to help the video grow. 😃
Don't piss off Big Ball...
LOL I got to make sure to lock my doors at night now 😂
I would absolutely love for Titleist to give me a call. It would be me standing my ground about their golf ball well then proceeding to Fanboy about their clubs and drivers and asking for samples 😂
