Omg I know this is God that led me here! I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner but have twin boys who are 2 years old and recently diagnosed with autism.. I just enrolled to the post masters certificate program to get BCBA certified as well! Thank you for all your tips on programs! ❤
Thank you god for controlling the algorithms🙏🏽 . Please keep us posted on your journey. You have such a unique background that I can’t wait to see what you bring to the field and to the lives of those little boys. Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
@@domthebcbamom6679 awwww I’m a new subbie here!! Thank you so much for being the light and helping us along this journey! Yea I will keep you posted! My class starts Jan 8th🙏🏽😘
Anyone from NJ: if you become a full-time employee at Rutgers University, you can get the tuition remission for master program. Douglass developmental disability center and RCAAS have practicum programs for full time staff.
I started my program, and now I am discouraged. M program has made changes after I was accepted, and I am now hearing that I will need to drive 90 miles minimum to get practicum hours, I am working as a special education teacher. I am not reaching criterion on the BDS modules, and there are so many sections that are due at the same time, and they will not count toward your grade unless you get 100%. I am going to take a break once this semester is over. I really enjoy the information that you provide.
I feel ALL OF THAT! I pray that during your break, everything will align perfectly and effortlessly. You should continue your BDS modules though while the pressure is off since you already paid for them and they do have an expiration date. That’s just my unsolicited advice. But thank you for watching and I know it will be easier.
I am starting as a behavior tech soon. I left TCSPP because the price tag 😮 I was studying forensic psych. I have two diagnosed kiddos one undiagnosed (15/13/8). I immediately applied to a BCBA program online. Stabilizing my career has been a hurdle for me.
Wow! I though about studying forensic psych first at TCSPP. Then I realized they employment rate is not as high as studying ABA. S/o to your AuSome kiddos. God knew what he was doing when he placed you all together. At least that’s how I approached parenting my neurodiverse children. It sounds like you are in the right track. Thank you for watching and commenting. Have you found an alternate ABA program?
@@domthebcbamom6679 yes I have fingers crossed it works out. I haven’t had stable work in almost a couple years. I’m also interested in project management as well too. I definitely have more of your videos to binge.
Thank you so much for your kind works. I’m glad this was helpful. My tips for studying while in school is to do it everyday. Try to discipline yourself to contact the material as much as possible even if you are calling out examples in your everyday life, teach other people about what you’ve learned (choose a close friend or fam ), find a ABA study group, communicate with your professor if you are struggling with a concept
A question for you: I am wondering if it makes sense to get my PhD in Psych/SPED/Autism/IDD first, and then become certified as a BCBA-D, or vice versa? I don’t know if it would be easier to do it one way or the other. By the way, I am a autistic person going into the autism field (either BCBA or research, I’ve worked as an RBT and IDD summer camp counselor), and I love seeing videos like this describing what life in this field is like!
That would still require Master level courses specifically in ABA (it was 8 course when I took this route but I think it has increased) and receive 2000 supervision hours.
I am a foreign medical graduate ( basically an MD from another country) but I graduated in 2008, did my masters in public health 2012 in the US. Will I still need to do a whole masters? Or required courses only?
I honestly don’t know the answer to that questions. You will definitely have to take additional courses (not sure how many ) & receive the 2000 hours of Supervision but I’m not quite sure if you have to get a second masters. If you have a school in mind I would talk to the administration department to see if you would qualify for the ABA certification program.
Hello, I began my ABA Certification Program January 2024 at Arcadia University. Will I receive my BCBA certification once I graduate or will I have to complete 2,000 hrs of supervision first?
Great questions. Some companies will pay you if you’re working directly with client (i.e., an RBT role). Other programs, you have to pay them, or pay them back if you choose to leave after you become a BCBA
Just passed my BCBA exam after being an RBT for 4 years! I’m so excited to begin on this journey 😊
Congratulations! , thank you so much for sharing and Sending positive vibes your on your new journey as a BCBA

That all depends on what you want to do after you have gotten the degrees and why. That can help to determine your focus.
how about just to get a certificate? I already have a Masters in EDU
