I'm going for my final interview for an RBT for my local autism center. And once I am in the RBT role for at least 3 years, I WILL be going to Graduate School for my MA in ABA.
@@domthebcbamom6679 I'm waiting to see if I get a call back for the shadowing. Because my interview was at the end of the day and there was one after me, we didn't have time to do the shadowing at the same time.
Congratulations on starting your coursework next month! It’s about to be a “studying girl summer” I see 🤓📚📉. I love it! Please keep us posted on your journey!
I'm a little frustrated with the whole getting the clinical process because then making me have to become an RBT prior to bcba is ridiculous. I have my Master's I'm on the road for the ABA certification because my Master's is in business unfortunately and all the companies in my area want me to become an RBT in order to get the clinicals. Getting paid RBT salary at the age 37 with a masters and currently making over 6 figures in the Tax industry is humiliating; no offense to anyone. There has to be a different route.. please advise
Becoming an RBT is not the only route. You can go the remote supervision route and still keep your 6 figure job. You would still have to find a BCBA supervisor to provide you with approved assignments and sign off on your hours. But if I’m being honest, I had my masters degrees and I felt like I had to take a step back to understand THIS field from as many angles positions and perspectives as I could. This helps to make us better advocate for those we serve. Question for you. What do you want to do once you become a BCBA? That should help to determine your next move
Yes you NEED a Masters degree to become a BCBA. However, you can become a BCaBA with a Bachelors and that is a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst. Thank you watching, commenting and subscribing
Thank you for this video you always provide soo much more relatable content. I recently just passed my RBT and I will be starting grad school this coming Fall with hopes of becoming a BCBA. My question is would you recommend only gaining hours im the clinic and if not any places you would recommend to accumulate those hours? I know 100% I do not want to be a clinic based BCBA.. but if I have to stay of course I will .. thank you again ❤❤
Hey edash hey!! Thank you for watching and I appreciate the love. Congratulations on passing your RBT exam and starting your masters program this field. I can see you ain’t come to play. You can pretty much collect hours anywhere that ABA principles can be applied (school settings, ABA clinics, working with adults in group homes, at a daycare, volunteering at children’s church, or working in a corporate office) the list of options are endless. That caveat is, you would have to find an approved BCBA supervisor to sign off on your restricted and un restricted hours. Most people work in ABA clinics because that’s a quick way to gain 40% of your 2000 required hours ( your BCBA supervisor will still have to sign off). Most people also run into the problem of getting their unrestricted hours. That’s where a remote supervision program can come in handy. (Kind of like mine . Link in bio) You can also get 100% of your hours through remote supervision. This should be the first question you ask your professor when you start in the fall. Maybe they can lead you on the right direction for your area. I hope this helps a bit. Thanks again for your question.
lol thank you! And yess I was waiting on this video. I have 3 BCBA’a who I have build rapports with to help with unrestricted and restricted hours .so I will definitely be asking them how to get things started and etc. thank you for responding .. you’re soo inspiring nd I will you nothing but Success in all of your future endeavors ❤️❤️👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🎊🎊🎊🎊🎉🎉🎊🎊🎊🎉🎉

Hello, I have Bachelors Degree in Sociology and Social Work, I need Master Degree? Or I can become BCBA with my Bachelor Degree? Thanks

@@domthebcbamom6679 I have searched for materials for BCaBA and I can't find it. Is the content the same for BCBA? Thank you so much for helping!
@@domthebcbamom6679 I was not advised of the BCABA route turn my interview. I have my BA in English.. if that was an option that would be great..
