  • The Amazon company kept a lot of the good things about the first-gen kit, including its reasonable price.

    Range extender extends the Z-Wave mesh, nothing to do with WiFi. Since all the Ring Z-Wave sensors are battery they cannot form a mesh. But they CAN use neighbors that are hard-wired as relays. Thus the extender exists. It should be placed between the base (hub) and your furthest sensors to help them reach the hub.

  • @Santiagosony
    @Santiagosony 4 ปีที่แล้ว +18

    I think the extender is not for the wifi/router, instead it is for the sensors coverage.

      It is a Z wave extender, not Wifi extender. if you want one then you need the Ring Chime pro.

    Hard to call this a “review”, an overview would be more accurate. The components were described, but, no information on performance.

      Not even a siren sound test so we can see it in action either....disappointing video for sure

    Huge thing that you got wrong in this video is saying the one touch buttons for emergency services will work for self monitoring. Totally not true, they only work with professional monitoring per Ring. Also I'm pretty sure the v2 motion sensor is not the same as the v1 motion sensor. I recall Ring stating there is additional tech to the dection in V2, which is the reasoning behind them saying you shouldn't use the same detection setting on the v2 as you did on the v1 necessarily.

      Cheers for the video content! Apologies for chiming in, I am interested in your opinion. Have you thought about - Mahorrla Defence Wisdom Method (do a search on google)? It is an awesome exclusive guide for securing your home from danger without the headache. Ive heard some decent things about it and my buddy got excellent success with it.

      The panic buttons (not medical) work without professional monitoring. The panic buttons will not dispatch anyone, they will just sound the siren.

    Been looking at this alarm for a while. Would be great if the professional monitoring worked in the uk. Insted you get assisted monitoring, if your arm gos iff it rings of 3 numbers you gave it. I dont knkw if the one touch buttons work in the uk, or if u press kne it will do the same thing, ring kne of the 3 preset numbers you gave it.

    Need the external ring siren!!
    It has a volume and duration setting ! I'm about to purchase it all. In UK it's a five piece kit and with the siren sold separately which is silly. Its £288

    Thanks for your video!! I’m looking into a affordable home security kit.. if you would can you tell me about the siren, it’s my thought that if someone wants to get in your home they will… that being said once in, I believe you need a loud alarm siren that should cause the A/H to turn and run.. does this device offer that option??? Thanks if you can help… Tc from Nevada

    Can you help when I leave my house I enter pass code and it says bypass needed which I press then it starts counting down with the chirps. When I enter there's no sound to let me know I have a certain amount of time to press keypad and disarm. I wouldn't even know it was armed.

    I been using RING for 4 years...so far no problems. I love it but all my stuff is 1st generation but hey they all work just fine! I also have camera indoors and out, and the outdoor cameras been through hurricanes and still work fine. That $11 a month monitoring service you can't beat that price and it's just as good as any other monitoring service. Now when I sign in I use my cell phone for added security.

    What is disappointing about these reviews is that they omit so many of the details you don't think of because most of these reviewers DON'T OWN THE SYSTEM they are reviewing........ (1) What happens if your home loses power? Now your router is dead - the heart of the entire system. No more video anywhere. In many western states, the breaker box is outdoors and can be shut-off. In some, like CA, they have daily power outages. (2) How do you charge the wireless cameras and devices? (hint: with a ladder) A wired system is better. (3) With 180 deg wide angle lenses, how can you tell if the suspect walking in the distance is going into your back yard or is your neighbors friend. You need side cameras. (4) A 1080 res, wide angle lens camera cannot read a license plate at 50 feet, you need 4K. If you are buying a system because you have porch pirates, you are wasting your time with ANY system. Home security is for your HOME, not your porch. Finally, thieves don's open a sliders or windows, tripping a sensor, they smash & grab. In three minutes they will take the big things like stereos, TV's and even smart appliances. Deterrence is the first line of security. Lights & warning signs. Dogs, the bigger the better. A car in the driveway. Record serial numbers and have video proof of all your possessions. Simple home defense like what's shown here is a placebo. After you are broken into, you will get it. Alexa, who broke into my home.......

    Do the one-touch emergency response buttons work if you are not paying for professional monitoring?

    • @e-5085
      @e-5085 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No

    • @AKKhan-dd9ez
      @AKKhan-dd9ez 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope, it'll just sound the sirens and alert your phone via text, and push notifications, if you pay for the professional monitoring $10/month (no contract at all) those sensors and buttons will be monitored, so if you press them, they'll call you to verify the emergency and if you need help dispatched to you.

    Love ring but the new keypad is terrible and dinky. I really like the old keypad so much better but had to leave it with the house when I sold it, i really appreciated the big red or blue status ring on the keypad showing how much time you have to leave.

    • @kcgunesq
      @kcgunesq 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It appears that the *huge* advantage of Ring over Simplisafe is if you are already paying Ring the $100 a year to store your doorbell and camera video. In that case, monitoring is essentially free.

    Nothing Special... I really like the ring doorbell, but securitywhise there is other cheaper diy or smart upgrade solutions for a security system. And in my optinion it looks cheap... the window sensors are clunky and ist another hub...
