Nice job.. Did you consider drilling the hole for the power cord closer to the hanging screws so the box would have covered the power wire coming through the wall.

Ya I tried but it hit a metal bracket attached to a support beam so that’s why I had to lower it. I had my heart set on the position it would be mounted

That hole 😮 and then the plate 😮😮 and then the keypad part came and I’m like 😮😮😮 but glad he saved the butchering from the viewers.
Either way, full thorough video. Thank you.

How is it working with the cat, thinking of buying the same one but not sure if my cat will set it off. Also another question, can you arm certain places like i have a separate garage that I want to arm but not the main house, is that possible?

Did the cat set it off? Please respond promptly. It's the make or break for me

Does it send notifications to your phone if you are not home and no subscription?

@ 2:30, why didn't you drill the hole higher so it's hidden by the base unit?
As is, you'll have a giant hole in your wall. Doesn't make sense.

let say you have 2 motion sensors, and in the arm mode, let say Home mode, you'd like to exclude the 1 motion sensor (or other sensor) from Home mode but include both motion sensors in the Away mode?
The reason I went with Simplisafe because Ring Alarm could not exclude the motion sensor or sensor in specific mode (2 year ago) ...I guess they improved that now? Can you please confirm?

You shouldn't run any non in wall rated cablea into your wall. If there's a fire and the fire inspector determines that's the cause your insurance won't cover your house. I install these daily along with many other products for a major company. Also, you have screw holes on your sensors instead of doing the double sided tape thing. Your can screw them on instead of sping your gorilla tape trick much more sturdy.

You might be right . I was wondering if the batteries are dead how can he replace it after he already glue it on the wall. Does the door sensors come with screws to make battery replacement easy?

Do they require to subscribe the plan at Ring in order to hear the alarm either from the product or smartphone? Thanks!

    • @papano8717
      @papano8717 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

They have an option of self monitoring like the ring video cameras.

If you have a cat, you can set it to the motion sensor to the low setting

Actually, do it to the medium setting because your cat is small

Door/Window sensors should not be installed on the "moving" part of the door or window unless there is no alternative. it should be exaction opposite of the examples show in this video.

I have $2,100 in Ring equipment -- come and pick it up. You CANNOT use this hardware with any other company except amazon, and the hardware comes from amazon. Amazon owns you, you do not own ring equipment (you just pay for it) -- AND guess what, those videos YOU delete, they still have them and will share them with Law Enforcement - THAT IS RIGHT.

I understand your point. The Ring system is proprietary. But then, so is Canon camera, Harley Davidson, Apple, etc...

Lol why do you have over $2000 in fkn Ring products? You might be a bit paranoid…. The door bell and echo monitor is at most $250 the largest alarm system kit is around $400… we are only at $650 right now add a 6 pack of Alarm Contact Sensors for $100 we are at $750???? I’d like to know how much of a darn setup you’ve got because you can start a damn Ring doorbell store with $2000 buddy!

Actually Amazon Alexa products (ESPECIALLY Ring) are more feature-packed than any other smart home tech right now.
