    I love my ring system, realised you can routine various things with it through Alexa, i.e turn off smart sockets/lights when i arm it in home or away, or use the door and motion sensors to turn on lights ! Saves you buying additional sensors if you already have Ring set up!

    Two improvements: a camera on the motion detector units (so you can see if you have an intruder or just Bertiecool having a stroll); and the ability to hardwire door contact sensors AND recess them into the door edge and doorjam.

    I got ring DB2, last other week for less than you can get a RB1 for, well happy with it. Easy to setup, motion bit is really clever, battery is around 50% after 12 days on the highest notification frequency and around 15 notifications per day, plus us checking the live view for like every hour for the first 2 days... Laughing Out Loud. Absolutely love it, £3 p/m is priceless as far as i cam concerned.

    Main issue is that you can’t hear the main station when it’s tucked in a closet. Ring needs to come up with Siren extenders that put a ring of sound around the house.

      Tony Bedford it’s up to yourself I personally wouldn’t touch one of these as I prefer the hard wired or wireless systems. For omitting I’m not sure on it. The Pyronix Enforcer kits can be used on your phone. The enforcer is
      An award winning wireless system and a very good one.

      The spotlight cam is really good, i got it with my system. The video quality is great and the field of view is really good as well, the only con i find with the battery powered one is the battery doesn't last as long as they claim, for us is around 2 to 3 weeks because we are always watching live view and the motion events, that is why i will get the solar panel so we don't have to worry about charging the battery

      drocto Yes, I do care about what people have to say, clearly as I’m replying to comments...please don’t take what I say and twist it (I understand that’s really easy to do online, just a mis interpretation of text on a screen). If the feedback was meaningful and would help my content, sure; I welcome that with open arms - however if people are going to drone on specifically about the way I pronounce ONE single word in the ENTIRE video then you can see how that’s going to cause some serious giggles to people that, have far more to worry about than the way one random person spits out one random word. I’m 22 years old with far more to worry about in life right now than the way I pronounce ‘ethernet’. We make these videos for fun, for people to watch for enjoyment. In no way EVER have I said that I am a tech professional and that I know everything about everything, but people seem to think I am - and the second I do something slightly wrong (like pronunciation of a word) its almost a race who can comment it first. Remember, I’m human, just like you, trying to have fun... so let’s cut the crap drone now please, because it’s boring af. Stay indoors! #savelives

    The house alarm product doesn’t look very good. The alarm doesn’t sound very loud and the fact that it’s battery powered too isn’t great. Do you have to pay a monthly subscription? Also if someone is breaking into the house can’t they simply take the alarm off the wall and put it in water? Lol and then plug the base unit out.

    • @techflow
      @techflow  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would be loud enough for everone in the house to hear (possibally just the neighbours too depending on placement). It works as soon as the motion sensor detects movement, it pings the main unit upstairs to sound alarm and send a notification to everyone logged in, technically the keypad is a little useless because you can just set and upset from the app, however you can enable a chime when the front door is opened, which is cool.

    A big point for me was the monitoring but now if my alarm gos off or if u have the mk2 and push the 3 dedicated buttons the police fire or ambulance buttons it calls a friend insted thats bull shit. Say it rings a friend who then has to ring me befor anything happens. Really stupid concept. Not really "brand new" when the mk 2 is out different kepad smaller motion sensor and smaller contact sensors

    • @aeldallkushi5882
      @aeldallkushi5882 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok, first of all, please use proper english, but here is what I can understand; it doesn’t call a friend, it calls the monitoring company, to confirm that there is something wrong, because if your kid accidentally pushes the panic button, you don’t want the police to come to your house, they have better things to do. And if you don’t answer the phone, (say it’s dead) they will notify an officer to come to your house and check on you. Every monitoring company does this, ADT, ring, simplisafe, vivint, you get the picture. If you want it to directly notify you, you get a dialer system, which you then put a sim card into, and then program to either give you a text or call alert when your system alarm is activated. And with ring, your phone is the first thing to get notified by a ring app notification, then the company calls a maximum of 30 second later, you confirm it’s an emergency, police, fire, or medical get rushed to your house, and will probably be there in 2-10 minutes depending on where you live. I hope this cleared things up.

    If they had a much louder siren this would be a no brainer for a DIY alarm. The fact that he was able to talk over the is what got me. I was looking into the ring alarm a while back until I seen a store demo and made the siren go off. It's very very quite and the alarm siren volume was all the way up on the base station.
    The siren sounds from the base station and keypads but the sound is no where near what it should be. This is the downfall to this system unfortunately and there's no option to hook up an external siren to make it louder. The Z Wave siren that can be added to it is a joke.

    You do actually understand that this has limited to no actual use for security? Forget the inconvience with batteries in PIR and MUK sensors, but the ease of dampening the wi-fi signal for robbers is huge. And actually the REAL security systems, also have apps with likeble designs, just not the 27 years old ones. I get that you have to eat, but don't give people false information.
